We love this bakery! They have a huge assortment of baked goods and offer so many different types of coffee drinks. My husband’s favorite is the charleston barbados rum flavored coffee and I am partial to the cinnamon myself. You can also purchase coffee to brew at home. Our family was so glad that a coffee shop/bakery opened so close to home. My husband often meets with his business clients here and they have free wifi.

I moved here a few months ago & thought great a deli that’s near by, But seriously the first time I went their the service was horrible they can’t get a simple order right the women who I assume runs the place is not a friendly person. I asked for cheese on my egg sandwich didn’t get it when I asked for them to add cheese they brought me a cold slice of cheese on a napkin(really!). A similar thing happened the next two times, if you complain you“ll get a pretty ugly look with a side of attitude So I now only go their for a few morning bagels TOGO!!! My husband just drove from West Ashley to pick up food that I had called in to order. I thoroughly explained that I wanted a Sesame seed bagel, with nova lox, plain cream cheese and tomato. I explained 3 times exactly what I wanted. Yet, when my husband comes home, NO tomato. The bagel and lox were good, but is it really that hard to get that simple of an order correct. The last time I was there I asked for a Sesame seed bagel and what I got was a Poppy seed. When I went up to the counter to tell them, I was told they were out of Sesame. So they just took it upon themselves to just give me a different kind of bagel instead of asking me what other kind of bagel I might want. I really like their food, but their service needs work.

I have eaten here several times… and have taken visitors to eat here too… their sandwiches are great. Their breakfast, pasteries, bagels and desserts are even better! Like a little piece of NYC in SC. Glad to have them here in Summerville!

Ordered Monday a Clubaroni and the forgot the Bacon and a side. Ordered something different on Tuesday and the food was great and they did make up for the missing side. Ordered again today and got the Patty melt. Apparently they decided to not finish cooking it. I guess it’s hit or miss cooking and getting an order correct.

Good but not great overall. We ordered the pastrami carnage style 18.50 and the shrimp roll 10.50. The pastrami was delicious but not worth the price. The shrimp roll was a little disappointing. It was really bland and served on a hot dog bun. The sides were delicious though. This place is better than East Bay deli but not by much.

I can only give this review on service. I was in the area and thought i would stop in for a treat. The place wasn’t busy, only three people eating. I looked over the delicious looking treats making my decision. There were four waitresses chatting, cleaning, etc. No one acknowledged me so I asked for help. It took a bit before I was acknowledged and was told they would get to me. Five minutes later the girls are still in conversation and I have to interrupt them again. After another 10 minutes I took the hint they didn’t want my business and left.

Really great little place. Made me miss New York City. We came here for breakfast– I ordered an iced coffee and a bagel breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was fantastic! The iced coffee was not great. The staff was very friendly and despite the cramped dining room, the place was cozy.

I was a little disappointed to see a sign urging me to take home the same Boar’s Head meats the deli uses. The Eggs Benedictstein #2 was not a favorite. The hollandaise was good, but the salmon was just average. Then there’s the eggs. They were cooked more than the advertised over easy, and they were cooked in a small ring mold. This resulted in them looking like something from a fast food restaurant or a hotel buffet.

Alright, so now that I’ve been coming here for over a year, it is time for an update! I still love this place! I go at least once a week for breakfast. I get the exact same thing every week and when I walk in, the ladies and one gentleman at the counter know me! That makes me feel really good. Sometimes I pick up pastries for my office. I took my Jewish mother here and she said it was some of the best knishes she has ever had! They reminded her of her grandmother’s cooking. The pastrami on rye is absolutely delicious! Tastes so close to being up in NYC. I love that they offer condiments from Brooklyn– where my grandparents live, so I am very familiar with those products. Their challah bread is also pretty great! They don’t make much when it is not a holiday, so be sure to call ahead and reserve yours.(It is perfect in raspberry stratas) I think the prices are still a little steep, but totally worth it! My only complaint is that sometimes the wait time can take a while. When I order a bagel with cream cheese(add sausage and tomato) it can take just a little longer than you would expect. Still recommend checking this place out!

The Charleston Bakery & Deli is one of my favorite places to grab a quick breakfast, dessert or lunch. My go-to breakfast item is the apple danish but I also love all of the other varieties(blueberry, raspberry, maple bacon, cheese, and pecan pie are some of the regular kinds available). The danishes are $ 4.25 each but they are huge and fill you up. If you’re going for dessert, the tiramisu is amazing and my favorite lunch pick is the Haifa Cheese Grill.

The layout of this bakery makes the entire room congested and difficult to walk. Standing in line to order, going to get your beverages, then finding a tables requires maneuvering through guests eating and standing in line down a very narrow hallway. When you do find a table, the guests standing in line are literally touching your table down the narrow hall. They don’t serve ice water… You have to purchase a bottle or a $ 3 tea/beverage. Service is low/average. It’s okay, but I don’t think the server taking my order ever smiled or said thank you. I ordered a frappacino and they walked around the restaurant screaming«chocolate milkshake». Finally when the lady told me that this was mine, she said«same thing» and handed it to me…(no, it is not the same thing.) I have given this place 3 chances… Never again.

My family and I go in for dessert and see the menu for the first time after hearing such wonderful things about it. Somewhat overpriced, but maybe it’s worth it? We order at a counter, which is off to the side… we were kind of confused when we walked in and didn’t see where to place the order. The person taking our order said nothing. Not hello, not a «I’ll take your order over here», she just stared. After we placed our order, the only words she spoke to us was the total. Rude? Another thing that really bothers me is when a place that has counter service expects you to leave a tip. You pay on one of those shady«square» pads, and they give you an option for how much tip to leave. It’s already totaled out as to how much they think you should tip, and it starts at 15%. Sorry, but you’re not getting shit from me for counter service. Call me cheap, but I’m calling this greedy. Work for your damn tip people. The dessert leaves a lot to be desired. Canned cherry pie topping for the cheesecake? Gross. The $ 6 milkshake says it comes in a 24oz frosty glass, then comes out in a 16oz plastic cup, disguised in a styrofoam cup so it looks bigger.

I can always count on a good bagel here. I am also super excited to see they added new salads to their menu, the former options I found to be lacking but the update is great! There is quite a bagel variety(including sundries tomato, blueberry, etc), after noon on a weekend it becomes slim pickings! With breakfast, desserts, and lunch options, I got word that they will be doing a dinner menu soon! I am happy that the awful road construction design did not seem to make a bad impact. There is always a merry crowd when I go in. So don’t worry about the weird road, just get here!

Had a rainy morning to relax and take it easy, so I figured I’d swing by this place for a better class of breakfast. I was rather impressed by their breakfast menu. They have a good variety of items, and they look pretty good. I ended up getting the cheese blintzes with strawberry compote. They certainly don’t skimp on the portions, and it was really tasty! Unfortunately road construction makes it difficult to come and go from here. Hopefully it doesn’t hurt their business too much, because I really want to come back to try some of the amazing looking pastries in their deli case. The tomato pie looks really good, it’s deep dish and I’m definitely gonna have to give it a try.

I drove by this place on my search for a Dunkin Donuts, where I was planning on getting an iced coffee. I ended up stopping here since I also wanted something to eat, and figured they could probably make a better coffee than DD. Inside is very eclectic and cozy, something you wouldn’t really expect from the outside. The staff were all very helpful and kind, and answered the million questions I had about the different pastries & coffees. I ordered a decaf iced Americano & a(huge) slice of the raspberry lemon cake. The cake was AMAZING and so big that I had half of it leftover to take home. The coffee was just okay– I think it tasted fine until I put the cream they had sitting out into it, which I’m guessing just means it wasn’t the freshest. All in all, I would go back here again for the amazing cake, and for the coffee too… just minus the cream.

My husband and I came in here for the first time on Sunday and were really excited to try something new and closer to home for breakfast. Their pastries in the case looked great right off the bat and they had a great coffee selection off to the side so we were looking forward to trying their breakfast. My husband ordered an omelet which came with potatoes and he chose a bagel that he had bagged to go. I ordered the Belgium waffle with«fresh blueberries in season.» I quote this because when I received my waffle it was topped with blueberries but more like the canned blueberry pie filling, and far too much of it as well. I was expecting fresh whole blueberries, not a pie filling. My husbands omelet was decent but he said he could tell that they pay more attention to their baked goods than they do their actual breakfast options. He said the omelet itself tasted of cartoned not fresh eggs and the filling left much to be desired. The potatoes also tasted to have been over steamed or sitting longer than they should’ve been, leaving them a bit too soft with no real texture. Something else that was quite off putting was the amount of crumbs left under the bagel and pastry case. We didn’t notice until we had ordered and sat down. Crumbs like that are an open invitation to bugs and rodents. An easy fix with a quick sweep and mop job… Overall, breakfast wasn’t terrible but could be much better. Especially for a small and local spot in the Summerville area. They have a lot of potential but they seem to be lacking some of those small details that would really make them standout.

By the time we arrived at the Charleston Bskery(around 3:00PM) the front cases were pretty much sold out. I had hoped to pick up some prepared dinner entrees from the refrigerated cases that I had previously purchased and loved only to learn that they were no longer selling precooked, table ready entrees. I did leave with 1 lb. corned beef, ½ lb of whitefish salad and two handcrafted potato knishes; one original, the other with the addition of cheddar and bacon and sides of spicy mustard. As we were running late there was no time to even drool over the cheesecakes and NY styled desserts. I’d like to return for lox. eggs and onions tomorrow AM, and … and … but I know it won’t happen … it’s 30 miles away
