I was in town for business from Chicago and had a taste for a meatball sub. I saw they were close to my hotel and decided to give it a try. The ambiance is very nice and the restaurant is clean. I ordered the sub and asked what came with it and I was told nothing, which was fine. I was told that I could purchase an appetizer to go with it. I decided on the garlic bread with cheese. I was told it would take about 10 minutes so I decided to have a beer while I waited. The cost was $ 24.00! Wow!!! I spent less at a full service Mexican restaurant nearby for fajitas and 2 beers! When I got back to my hotel I opened the 1st container and thought it was my garlic bread, because it was about the size of garlic bread! Oh no, it was the sub sandwich! I thought, $ 9.95 for this little sandwich and it didn’t come with a side? The sandwich was just okay! It didn’t WOW me at all! The garlic bread was just okay as well. But once again, $ 7.00 for garlic bread with cheese on it, I thought was a bit expensive. It did come with a side of marinara… oh boy! The overall experience was just okay, definitely not a New York experience other than the cost. I could’ve gone to subway next door, got a bigger sub and Atleast some chips to go with it.

I came here today because I had been wanting to try their huge slices! The place is a sit down restaurant but they do not have a hostess. So u can just sit wherever. We ordered a twelve inch Alfredo pizza and one huge cheese pizza slice. The Alfredo was good! My only complaint was with the huge slice. It wasn’t fresh. It literally looked like they got an old pizza from earlier and just put more cheese on it and reheated it. The twelve inch was made fresh and it was like I said really good. They serve you little breads with marinara sauce while you wait for your food, which was yummy. No complaints there: like I said the only complaint I had was with the huge slice. I’d definitely come back!

The best fine dining in Katy, great ambiance. You feel like you’re in Europe with its quaint dining room(14 tables), personable and well trained staff. The best part was the owner, Alex, eccentric and entertaining. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a truly unique dining experience.

Ben is an excellent owner. He is very friendly and helpful. We asked for his wine recommendations and he provided us with an excellent red wine. Food was very good and the service was very good.

Food great! They were swamped, so waited a long time for the food. Service was great & he was very apologetic about the wait for the food to come out.

Service has been slow in the past but I think the food is delicious and their happy hour has great deals! Plus they have have two adorable blond waitresses that are sweet as can be! I think if you aren’t in a hurry this is a great place to hang out, have some wine and some great Italian food that will warm you up this winter!

I have eaten here several times and also ordered pizza to get a few times as well. I have never had any issues and the pizza has always been delicious! They have gluten free crusts, which is extremely important for me since I have Celiac and I have yet to get sick. It’s also very convenient for me which makes it even better!!! Russo’s isn’t my first pick when it comes to pizza!

Food was alright, made me feels sick afterwards due to too much salt. Wasn’t pleased… Wish it was better since it’s so convenient.

Revisited with friends on their insistence. Still disappointing, no change. Too bad they just don’t get how to make a pizza. However, the soup my nephew had was excellent. Dessert wise was a mix. My cannoli was good and crisp, others were soggy. So inconsistent! I will not be back!

I’ve gone here a few times. Many times I’ve gone by they are closed during dinner hours. As Italian food goes I rarely want it any other time than dinner. When I have made it in the food took forever to cook and wasn’t seasoned. I have had the eggplant parmesean. It didn’t taste fresh at all. It tasted soggy and bland. If anything on that dish was freshly made that day with fresh ingredients I would be suprised. I have also sampled their pizzas. Nothing special. I have given this place a few attempts and will just never go back even though it has a super convienent location.

Food is always great. Servers always seem to be new at the industry, and new to their jobs, but that’s no fault of their own. Food timing is usually about the same whether they’re busy or slow, which is great on both ends. The fried mozzarella is delish! Definitely recommend trying it!

I went here on 3÷13÷2015 and only a single couple was there in the restaurant. I ordered take out and was really excited to get some authentic New York pizza but was disappointed. I ordered the Margherita pizza and it was soggy and the sauce wasn’t seasoned. I also ordered the spaghetti and the noodles were over cooked and under seasoned. The lasagna was extremely salty and didn’t hold its shape(looked like a blob). I wouldn’t recommend the food to anyone that wants true New York style pizza. I thought since the restaurant was slow that my food was going to be excellent but it was very hard to swallow. The decorations were nice at the restaurant.

My fiancé and I recently discovered Russo’s in Sugar Land and we LOVE it. In fact, we are making it a tradition to go there every 2 weeks. My fiancé is a pizza snob because his family is Italian and they are from New York… They have über high expectations when it comes to «New York Style Pizza“or really any pizza in general. Russo’s passed the test. Management is also great, it passes my test of having a small town feel(I’m from a very small town). The owners/managers greet you, remember you, and come and check on you. You will find us in there regularly enjoying a pizza and some wine, because it’s the best.

2.5 stars Had take out. Ordered thin crust pizza and calamari. Pizza was ok. Pretty much everything except the crust and within 2 inches of the crust got soggy within 10 mins. Not sure why. Calamari was the worst I’ve ever had. I’ve never had calamari taste SOOOOO fishy. Batter was bland and calamari was way over cooked. Calamari was extremely chewy. I felt like I was eating fish flavored gum. Horrible. Considering this was a $ 10 appetizer, I’m very disappointed since I couldn’t even eat it.

Came here with a group of 9. Mostly under 18 years old. This was a collective vote so it should count as 9, 4 star ratings. We had their gigantic pizza and meat lovers. Wonderful pizza.

Your typical pizzeria, not bad but not spectacular either. It’s a nice place to come and eat with family. I liked their pasta, not impressed with their dessert(thought it wasn’t worth the price). Entrees come with a salad, free bread to start with. Service was great, very friendly staff.

So I’m going to start by explaining my rating. I would probably give this place a 4 star but because of the previous reviews I want to help their average out a bit and get them where they should be. Also, I want to share what New York style pizza is. Because I saw a complaint on the lack of sauce and it being floppy. Make sure you know what you are eating before you bash an establishment. «The traditional toppings are tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, with any additional toppings placed with the cheese. It is traditionally hand-tossed and light on sauce. The slices are often eaten as a fast food or „street snack“ while folded in half, as its size and flexibility sometimes makes it unwieldy to eat flat.» I came by at lunch on a Friday and got the slice and salad combo. They start you off with some delicious bread and dipping sauce. The salad was your normal Italian with romaine, onion, tomato, and a peppers with a balsamic dressing. Now to the main show. The slice of pizza was ridiculously huge. The waiter said it was a slice from a 28″ pizza. It was crispy thin crust piled high with delicious fresh ingredients. The service was great. The waiter was taking orders, busing tables, and delivering the food while also seating guests and handling to go orders. Great place and I will be back. I’ll review again after a dinner service or to go order since most complaints were the service and the pizza to go.
