Had the best weekend branch buffet so for, I paid 11.99 only for a fresh buffet of 10 plus items including Hales puri, qeema, Aalo k tarkari, chapli Kabab, Sikh Kabab, rice, fish, dessert. Definitely highly recommended and will come back.

Food was average. Waiter was in the phone all the time on his Bluetooth. They took forever to get us the naan. Will not go back.

DONOTCOMEHERE. They have the worst service ever. My boyfriend and I came in on a Saturday at 3PM because I had a Groupon for this restaurant. There were no customers. and it was a Saturday. We waited by the door for five minutes until someone finally came out(from the restroom) to help us. There were two paper signs that were posted by the front desk. One said«no coupons on weekends» and one that said«we are currently struggling to stay in business, check in on Unilocal and Facebook to help us out». The Groupon I purchased did not state that we could only use it on weekdays. When I pointed that out to the man, he said he doesn’t know anything about it and that they did not accept coupons on weekends. Why would they turn us away. especially if they are struggling to stay in business? Just don’t waste your time and go somewhere else. UPDATE: Owner claims that it’s clear that this Groupon is only valid on weekdays… I have posted a photo of the fine print and that is not stated anywhere.

I love this restaurant. The food is delicious and crazy reasonable in price. The service can occasionally be slow, but I especially love their Qaubili Pilau with lamb shank, the grilled lamb chops, the eggplant, the spinach and their naan. I’ve lived in both Islamabad, Pakistan and Washington, DC and this Afghan ranks up with the best in those cities.

I never go out of my way to give reviews because I’m generally easy to please, but my goodness if I could give them zero stars, I would. I walked into the restaurant with my family at 1 pm on a Saturday. We called ahead to make sure they had a full buffet. We get there and we are the only ones in here. This should have been a warning sign. We looked at the buffet line and the owner, mohammed, told us they’d be bringing out more dishes and they were going to finish setting up. We waited for five minutes and when they brought out the serving spoons, we started with the grilled items. The Chapli kabob I picked up had too much salt. The kabob my mom got had zero salt. Looks like the chef forgot to mix the kabob well. The curries were all watered down. The halwa was tasteless. The kabuli pulao was brought out on a plate for us after we had already sat down for half an hour, and was tasteless with too much raisins. We were not waited on at all. None of our plates were picked up. We talked to the manager and told him about our experience. He was trying to justify it by saying that’s what afghan cuisine tastes like. Do yourselves a favor and go to the afghan place two streets down on Voss where you can have real afghan food. We chose this place because the food was supposed to be ready when you walk in, but that was a mistake. The owner at least had the courtesy not to charge us full price for that disaster. We have been to this restaurant many times, but it’s been like this the last two times I’ve been here. We are definitely not coming back again. I don’t even know if the owners care about our feedback. When we left at 2 there was still no one else in the restaurant. I have no idea how they are still in business.

I went here with my Son last week at close to their closing time. The service and food was great and I decided to take the family there today(Sunday Dec 13) after church. We each ordered from the menu and sure it came out fresh and pipping hot. The sauce that came with the chicken was very tasty with hint of spice that definitely was not bought at the corner store. The rice tasted so healthy and light. The hummus… Please try the Hummus. you cannot go wrong on this one. We had the pleasure to meet the owner(Mohammad), and as expected his attention to detail and immediate customer service was to be commended. We a slight communication issue with server who was really trying his best…(bless his heart). The owner stepped in and made everything right. This is my new stop on the way home when that craving hits… Tashakor. for a good service… for a good service

This place was amazing! I don’t remember the names but the A3, M4 and M10 were delicious. The M4 was chicken with this crazy good meat blend with spices on top. Then the M10 was a grilled lamb pattie on rice with sliced cucumber on the side. Will definitely be back to try more!

In short: very unique tasty spices and flavors, excellent service, great price, definitely will visit again. Background: — Went there with my family(wife, three children) on Saturday night for dinner — There was a wedding in the restaurant hall(waiters were overwhelmed) — Went for the buffet to try different items. — Due to the wedding celebration, the buffet was not regularly maintained. — The manager, Mr. Mohammad, was very kind and offered my family to order any dish from the menu since the buffet was not ready. — Appreciate the great service. Definitely will visit again with more family & friends. The GOOD — Restaurant is very clean! Trendy atmosphere with nice seating area. Big space. — Great prices. Dinner buffet is $ 11.99(Adult), $ 7.99(child). Almost all menue dinner entries are less than $ 10 — Amazing food!: Lamb karhayee is EXCELLENT, Qabuli Pallow, Sultani & Chapli Kabab and Spinach tastes so good. — Serving size and quality of food is delicious. — Friendly customer service lead by a GREAT manager. The BAD — The buffet is mixed of Afghan & Pakistani food(but the menu is genuine Afghan food). My family does not eat spicy food. So the buffet was not a goof choice :( — Limited food selection in the buffet. I hope they could improve the buffet selection or better yet serve only Afghani dishes. It is OK to increase the buffet price if serving more Afghani dishes. During my Next Visit: — Will order from the menu to try the genuine Afghan food. — Planning to try Burani Banjan(eggplant appetizer).

One of my favorite restaurants in Houston. Not only their food is great but also the owner is very humble and awesome guy. I recommend kabuli palao, chicken shaami kabab, bulani, egg plant dish. Also, their customer service is pretty good.

Good food, bad service, not authentic. This restaurant claims to be «Afghan» and serve Pashtun delights, but it is and does not. The people who run the restaurant are clearly Pakistani and had Pakistani television playing in their restaurant. On top of that, the only food that is Afghan is Kabuli Palau, the regional variation of palau for Afghanistan. The rest is Pakistani, chutney, biriyani, etc. The service is not good at all, we got water when we came and naan once, then had to keep asking the waiter for refills and more naan(even though there was only one other table being served.) The restaurant’s food is certainly not worth the money for the buffet, seeing the«salad» was primarily onions. There are much better Afghan restaurants available around Houston.

I’ve never given a 1-star review before, but if I could give zero stars, I would. The food was very good, but the service was absolutely the worst. My son ordered first, and the waiter actually ignored my daughter and me and began to walk away until my son called him back. He would not look at either of us as we ordered, and he didn’t bother to take drink orders. We sat there for half an hour with nothing but water before the waiter returned, slapped down our dishes, and left without a word. No one got refills on their empty water glasses. We had leftovers that I wanted to take home, but no one came to our table, so I asked the woman at the register for a takeout box. I had to send my son to the register with cash to pay for the meal because no one brought our check. Incidentally, she gave my son change in nothing but nickels. We were walking to our car when a couple stopped to ask us about the food. When we mentioned the service, they asked for suggestions about other places. Try Blue Nile or Fadi’s instead. You’ll never be disappointed at either of those restaurants.

The Qabuli Pallow, Sultani Kabab and Okra taste so good. A good place to satisfy Mediterranean cravings… The buffet doesn’t look appetizing so we order from their Menu. I hope they could improve the buffet selection or better yet serve only Afghani dishes. The prices are reasonable.

Not sure if was authentic Afghan food. I will go back again.

So this isn’t real Afghan food. It is Afghan-like. The flavors lean more towards Pakistani food. Which is fine because it is tasty and spicy but it isn’t Afghan. Afghans in Houston know this(that’s why you see mostly Indo/Pak customers eating there) and anyone who has eaten Afghan food in CA or VA know this too. It irritates me how these new psuedo Afghan restaurants keep popping up saying they are authentic because really they are not. Afghan food is NOT spicy or have curry/ginger/garam masala flavors. Now for the review: I ordered a Chapli Kabob. Pashawar’s version of a Smashburger patty. It was thin, spicy, and flavorful but you can taste the Shan masala in it. The plate comes with white rice seasoned with cumin seeds. The rice was a little undercooked but still yummy. I also ordered the Bolani Katchaloo. This was actually really good and tasted like aunthentic Bolani. It is like crêpe/calzone type dough that is toasted on the outside and stuffed with seasoned potatoes and cilantro. It was crispy, not too greasy, and very flavorful. I would come back to this place just for this deliciousness. The sad part was it didn’t come with yogurt. Another clear sign that this is not a true Afghan restaurant. No yogurt with Bolani is sacrilege, lol. I didn’t order anything else because looking at the buffet… it wasn’t Afghan it was Desi and I wasn’t in the mood for Desi food. Service: I had a problem with this. I came and ordered my meal to go. My Chapli was cheap $ 9.99 and the Bolani was SUPPOSED to be $ 3.99 but the waiter/manager took it upon himself to make a larger than appetizer size portion amd then double charge me for it. So my meal cost me $ 20. Not cool. I didn’t ask for a double portion of Bolani and he just forced it upon me! Add insult to injury– when I asked for yogurt, he looked at me like I was crazy and said it would cost extra. It was a sneaky and unprofessional move. Go ahead and try this place. Expect to wait awhile. Service may or may not be crappy. Don’t call it Afghan because it is insulting to Afghans. Enjoy the spicy food. Then give Afghan Village a try. Their food is more authentic but the Bolani is not as good :-(
