«Is that Conrads?». This was my reaction on Sat. February 6, driving down Route 20, to their bright, shiny exterior and sign. Living in Westwood, I’m quite close to(what I thought was) their only 2 locations in Norwood and Walpole, which I have been to in the past(only the Norwood location), years and years ago. I had planned mostly everywhere I needed to go to do a lot of errands throughout this area of Route 20. I didn’t have lunch planned yet. Quickly decided that on the way traveling back on Route 20 E, I would stop at Conrad’s. I’m glad I did. This is a major step up from their original location(which I did love, but isn’t anywhere close to this). It’s so much newer, more modern, and is designed so much better and more elegant(as is the beautiful town of Sudbury, in comparison to the«interesting»(should I say) town of Norwood). The host was friendly, the waiter(didn’t get his name) was friendly and the food was great. They even had TV’s at some of the booths(I was seated at one of them), which was a nice surprise and good to have(always nice to watch the news or another show of your choice while waiting). Additionally, I should add their burgers are great, and everything is SUPER fast! I felt like the wait might have been 10 minutes after putting in my order… or maybe it was just the TV, which made it seem less, nevertheless, it was FAST. Also, the prices are good and the food portions are large. A great meal stop along good ‘ol Route 20, and one of the really good restaurants in Sudbury(too bad the Friendly’s at the plaza closed). Overall, great experience and I look forward to returning when I visit out this way next time. 4 stars.

I do not know why they give half the portions if you have a groupon. Salad: Dry. How do you have a dry salad? Dry lettuce. I ordered take out for a Greek Salad, Streak and rice Pilaf and an order of fries. Fries were cold. Salad was dry. It did not come with bread. Steak tips? 3 small pieces? Rice pilaf like 3 heaping teaspoons– not even a measured cup. They did give me sour cream and butter BUTFORWHAT? For Sudbury? I should have chosen Pizza Hut. I had two groupons. When I called a second time just to use it(I mean how bad could you mess up Pizza) the woman answering the phone said, «You again? You just called yesterday!» Yup. After that answer I called Groupon and got my money back. No thanks to Pizza with E-coli on top.

Finally trying Conrad’s after the restaurant re-do from the prior joint. We hadn’t tried it because I figured it would be the same disappointment as what had previously been in this location. I was wrong. And with a couple of easy fixes, Conrad’s could easily garner four stars. First the entire interior has been not only redone but reconfigured. The central bar adds life to the restaurant. It’s a much more open layout than the old configuration. Lots of televisions everywhere signal that it’s more of a sports bar environment, even though it’s billed as a «Restaurant and Lounge.» I started with the Ginger Mai Tai. Not too impressed. I wouldn’t get it again. It was super sweet, and tasted of neither ginger nor rum. Not at all what I was expecting. Steph made him a great Negroni, though. From there things did continue to improve.(I will add they have more selections than most for gluten free beer-like beverages, just none that were my preference. Options included Bard’s, Redbridge, Dogfish Head Tweason Ale, and several ciders.) I ordered the gluten free baked pasta al forno. He had the mixed grill. Both came with an appetizer salad. Iceberg lettuce. Really? Ah well the Caesar dressing I opted for was super delish. He had what looked like your typical Parker House rolls. Sadly, no bread for the gluten free. But my pasta dish… OMG, this is where things finally got really good. Huge portions. Enough for two meals. Pasta was perfectly cooked. Baked with chicken and sausage under a good but not too much layer of mozzarella. Could have used more seasoning and garlic, but was great comfort food which is what I was looking for. His mixed grill was huge. Steak tips, chicken breast, two sausages with and baked potato. Even after his run earlier today he couldn’t finished. Everything was cooked and seasoned really well. The molten lava cake was yummy, but not really molten. Soft in the middle, yes, but no gooey, molten chocolate lava goodness. Steph came up with a great coffee drink to go with it. I was torn between three and four stars. I wish I could have opted for three and a half stars. I went with three because there are some simple things they could do to push it to four easily: mesclun mix in the salad; a gluten free roll(just grab some Udi’s from the grocery store); and indicate the lemon mix as part of the Mai tai on the cocktail menu. All in all, we might be back. We already have several go-to joints locally, though, and Conrad’s won’t be quickly replacing any of them.

Before going, a friend who has been there frequently told me that the steak tips were the best item on the menu. I got the steak tips on a salad and it was delicious. My partner got a baked pasta dish. He only ate a quarter of it because it was so bland and mushy. I won’t be back to give it another try, not because of the food but because of the TVs. We sat at a booth in the dining room. There was a TV in every booth, plus two more large screen TVs higher up on the wall, not to mention the ones around the rest of the room. If I want to watch TV and eat I can stay at home and save my money. It felt like being in the TV section of an electronics store like Best Buy. I couldn’t even look across the table at my partner without having 7 TVs in my line of sight.

Our family has eaten there 5 times in the past 8 months and overall we are pleased. The steak tips are excellent. I would say they are almost as good as New Bridge Café’s but not quite. The only complaint is that the tips are frequently undercooked. We prefer them medium well and they frequently are brought to us medium rare. We had some undercooked tips last night, but to her credit the manager came to our table(apparently she noticed my daughter’s unhappy face) and made everything right. Nice! Pizza is very good. Beer is cold and served in frosted glasses. Nice. This is a solid family restaurant.

Pretty bad. The food is mediocre at best. I ordered the boneless buffalo wings and calamari for apps. The chicken was too thick and not cooked properly — these people are lazy. They can’t even prepare a boneless piece of ch open correctly. Tue calamari tasted like it was frozen and thawed 30 minutes ago. The pasta for dinner could have been good if, again, they actually cut the chicken up instead of serving a huge chicken breast sliced into half. Undercooked chicken is a sign of an inexperienced chef. This was the first and last time I’d be going here.

Just got home after eating here and felt I should post to inform others of my experience. Friday night 7pm and I ordered the prime rib. When it came it was honestly ¼″ — ½″ thick .” Man” I said to the waitress” is that the the $ 23 dollar size?! Yes, there is only one size. I get more meat on my sub from the local pizza place. My fault to a degree I guess. I shouldn’t have ordered it without seeing one come out?. Awful, it should have been a ten dollar rib at best and that is pushing it.

We really need a good family place to dine and this isn’t it. Read online that there are TVs at every table and get seated at a table with NOTV. We have Pats shirts on and teenage boys with us. So not a good start. Its Sunday evening fairly busy but ok service. Food was ok and kind of pricy for what it was. Cobb salad $ 10 very skimpy on toppings not worth it. Still hungry after finishing. Burger was good but only got a few fries. Never offered refills on soda. Won’t be returning

Lousy food and service on a slow night. Will not be back. Horribly slow service. Would have liked a second cocktail but was never asked. Waitress was a.w.o.l. Chicken was nasty, under cooked, almost bouncy, the waitress said«whoops sorry» but did not give any credit or refund due to the fact that this dish was not eaten(who does that in this day and age?). Others in our party thought their Marsala was gross, but muscled through it because they were hungry. Oh yes, and we were treated to the classic hair-in-the-food…that put the nail in the coffin. It felt like being held hostage to someone else’s apathetic nightmare. And then paying for it. They really need to re evaluate their customer service.(not to mention food). Our guest said he would never go near the place. Same for me.

Went to dinner Wednesday nite, not to crowded. Seated and waited on right away by Brandon. This guy is a great waiter, very timely and attentive. First time there I asked about there best dinner, without hesitation he said the steak tips. He was right on, 2 friends had haddock, They were very pleased. Seeing three guys after ordering drinks, he offered bread, nice touch and service, timing and all dinners were great. Can’t wait to go back.

I sat the bar with my friends and we really enjoyed ourselves. The bartender was incredibly nice and friendly. We order the nachos and devoured the entire thing. If your looking for a fun spot to watch the game or catch up with friends, definitely check out this spot.

Don’t come here for the fine dining. This is a restaurant to come to after a day of shopping and you want the kids to shut up and eat without an argument. And, then you have a drink. Conrad’s has a wide variety of passable dishes that appeal to a family that can’t decide on one cuisine. Pizza, check. Salad with meat on it, check. Hamburger, check. Large entrée that has some kind of frozen fish in it, check. Chicken and pasta, check. I do have to say that the hamburger was really good. And, it has a lot of televisions, including one in every booth. Lots of 80s music. Michael Jackson’s Bad was playing when we walked in. Any kids would be distracted so that you can have your drink. But, in general, nobody in our party was saying that they would come back here. It is off of our list.

If you’re down for $ 9-$ 10 drinks and some apps it’s a nice place to go in the area. I like sitting in the deck. However, they probably should stay clear of the Italian dishes… Very salty and soupy. The French onion soup is more like onion gravy unfortunately. They do have a gluten free menu which is still pretty rare in this area, but it’s not stellar. Give it a shot for sure.

The Sudbury/Wayland area has long been needing a place like this! Great place to take the whole family, have a date, hang out with friends, or have a business meeting. Food is good(Steak tips and Turkey burger are my favorites, along with the tomato soup!) Portions are nice size and prices are reasonable. But the reason I keep coming back is the service. Donna is the daytime bartender who makes you feel like you are Norm at Cheers! She is attentive and friendly. She definitely takes care of her customers. Come for the drinks as a stranger, and leave as friends & family!

I think the key to Conrad’s is that it’s a family restaurant– sorely needed(and unexpected) in Sudbury. Conrad’s has a large, open bar area that you walk through to get to the large, open dining room. TVs on the walls and in most of the booths along with the music at the bar and all the open space mean this place is REALLYLOUD. Great for families whose kids don’t know how to whisper. Not great for adults who want to chat through their meal. I ordered a ginger mai tai, which was tasty but pretty weak. We tried the prosciutto aroncini which came out quickly from the kitchen and were crunchy and savory. The chicken picatta was served over pasta(linguine or ziti) and came with a side salad. The portion of chicken and pasta was HUGE! Flavor wise, the chicken was nothing special, but it wasn’t bad either. We had a wonderful server with a great Irish accent who was really attentive and kind, even though the place was packed and she was super busy. No complaints about the service and I got a kick out of watching the very young-looking bussers hustling to clean tables. The whole place had a very«family» feel with teen hostesses and lots of kids as guests. While this made me comfortable as a parent and I’d definitely return with my family, I wouldn’t come back here for a date night or adult night out.

Solid addition to Sudbury. It’s not a place you crave but would be a solid choice any given night. 20 beers on tap and large bar area. The décor could be given a little more attention to make it a bit more welcoming. Bartender was nice and food good. I will be back.

First time at Conrad’s Sudbury and the experience has been great. Came here for like much today and the place was pretty busy, saw a lot of take out orders leaving and most of the dining room and bar was full. Really nice restaurant everything looks brand new and clean, I sat at the bar and wan attended to right away by the bartender, they have a selection of about 20 beers on tap and a cool back drop to the bar. Lots of high top table around the bar and lots of booths in the dining room. TV’s EVERYWHERE, which is great! I now iced in each booth there is a small TV just for that table and it looked like the people were controlling there own TV for what they were watching. Very night I got the«rebel burger» for lunch today and it was really good. Juicy and the bacon was crispy, they fries were crunchy and everything was hot. I noticed the person next to me got a pulled porch sandwich which looked good and I heard him raving to the bartender how good it was and she was telling him how the pork was slow cooked here in the kitchen. The person on the other side of me got some steak tips and also looked amazing, will be trying those next time. Over all really great first experience at this Conrad’s! Place was new, clean and food was great, will definitely be returning.

Lets just start off by saying wow, what an improvement over Bistro 20. The entire place looks different and has an open flow and a good selection of booths, high top seating, regular tables and ample space at the Bar along with a family style Double sided island. The bar has an amazing selection of Drinks, I counted 20 Beers on tap. I had very friendly service at the bar and knew what I wanted before looking at the menu. Steak Tips! I have eaten Conrad s food before at the other locations so my expectations of what the famous steak tips should taste like were high. The kitchen did an awesome job exceeding my expectations tender juicy flavorful steak tips to my seat within 15 minutes of arriving. I wanted to make sure I left a Review after reading some of the other negative reviews. Everyone has an opinion and that’s why everyone should give the restaurant a try and form their own opinion on the wall colors, lighting and house keeping of the restaurant. As for my visit, It was clean and did not remind me of a Hospital waiting room or someones half finished garage. Huge improvement over the Bistro 20 and Sky restaurant that previously occupied this space. I did not see a reason for having artwork all over the walls they have lots of TV’s so watching college basketball was not a problem and I can’t wait to stop in for Football season and catch a New England away game. Guest WiFi was a Plus, and I found the bathrooms clean and wonder if toilet paper all over the floor is a ladies room only problem as ladies tend to wipe the seat off before sitting down.

Conrad’s recently took over the old Sky Restaurant and started off by gutting the facility and rebuilding a nice, new, and very clean restaurant. The food is quite good and reasonably priced. The wait staff is uneven, as is typical with most new restaurants, and I’m certain they’ll correct that problem soon, at which point I will revisit my rating. In the meantime, feel safe to try out their steak tips, burgers, fried fish, and seafood. My wife liked the vodka shrimp.
