Stephanikos Mediterranean Cuisine and Old World Pizza

Our favorite restaurant in Stroudsburg/E.Stroudsburg area. Extremely friendly owners pour their love into the restaurant, and you can tell! Food is authentic Mediterranean that makes your mouth water. Desserts superb, though hardly ever room after the hearty portions they serve. We eat there probably more times a week than we eat at home lol. Try it yourself, as I’ certain you will agree.

It was a very clean and small restaurant. It had very good quality food and fresh food! It had great service!

The dishes are amazing. The staff equally as amazing. And when I come here with large groups they always cater to us very special.

I stopped to buy a gyro, I love gyros. My friend and I recently went to Mediterranean Grill in Stroudsburg and she mentioned that a new place had opened on 611. She said it was good, I was driving by and hungry so I stopped when I saw your place. So disappointed, big chunks of over cooked dried out meat, tomato ends, yellow lettuce and next to zero tzatziki sauce. Going in the garbage. I called my friend to complain and she said the place she recommended was Olgas. Oh well, maybe your other stuff is good.

Twice now I have had take out subs, and both times they have been excellent. Tonight, it was calimari parmigiano, and it was hot and tasty. The calimari isn’t fried, be warned, so it looks like squid… but it is better for you this way. Oh, and the sub roll is fresh, with plenty of crust crunch and sesame seeds. I love the atmosphere. The owner/​chef is passionate about his food; he came out to tell me about Greek pizza, and his description was tantalizing. Super friendly service. Give it a try.

Looks nice on the inside. Relatively clean. Food was OK, nothing astronomically delicious. I personally had the moussaka — which is pretty much a lasagna with veggies on top of greasy potato slices. When we sat down we ordered some rodella with mozzarella. Which off the menu sounds like something really amazing but is just thinly sliced greasy potatoes with mozzarella melted on top. We got the rodella after getting our main entrées, after having reminding the waitress about it. The young blonde waitress seemed flustered by the amount of people in the restaurant. Or didn’t know what she was doing… So giving her the benefit of everything going on. Others had the chicken souvlaki (tried this, it was pretty good) and salmon on greek salad (also good). Don’t waste your taste buds on the rodella.
Giving a two star rating for the severe lack of service. Never had a refill of water, anyone check-​in how things are and delivery of an easy appetizer 30 minutes after ordering. This establishment ought to hire more folks to assist with peak hours or prepare in anticipation of this.
Topped off the experience with a diabetic inducing pecan apple cheesecake.
It was not nice to hear the staff complaining about things and them not being able to go home because of the rush… You would think you would want the business.

This place is fantastic! My girlfriend & I went there recently and the food was delicious. The service was great and it made for a great night out. They have so many appetizing dishes on their menu, I can’t wait to go back… although, I would be tempted to get what I had last time because it was sooooo good.
I had the Pastistio, which was amazing! My girlfriend had the Gnocchi special, amazing as well. We shared, and although completely different dishes, we enjoyed going back and forth.
We loved our dinner so much that we returned the next day for lunch. I saw the sign outside advertising «best authentic gyro», so I went with that. It lived up to the hype, LOADED with meat and very tasty. The lady had the Moussaka and enjoyed it very much.
Bottom line, this place is great, I highly recommend it because I hope they flourish.

Whey I had was VERY GOOD. I had the gigante beans in a light tomato sauce & the minestrone soup, both which were very flavorful & served hot so essentially perfect. The issues with this place were as follows: When we first arrived, we were seated promptly & had a waitress who obviously didn’t know what she was doing & not a good representative for the place. I asked for seltzer. She said they didn’t have any. Then we asked for sparkling water; she said they didn’t have that either. There was a sealed bottle of water on the table, which we didn’t bother to look at carefully. We asked about that & she said no that it was NOT sparkling, so we took her word for it. We took regular tap water & then, after looking at that bottle later on, saw it was in fact sparkling. After several minutes of sitting & before we ordered, suddenly we had a different waitress, who I PERSONALLY preferred. I ordered the baby lamb chops, only to be told they were out of them. I was really looking FW to enjoying them but ok so I ordered the beans & the soup, both which were delicious as I previously mentioned. My husband had a couple of appetizers, one of which was the terramoussalata (I think that’s the name) but it was too salty. The dessert was delicious; I forgot the name of it, but it was a Greek specialty. While we were eating, I overheard a bit of an argument going on between the 2 waitresses, but clearly it was the older woman causing the issue, in MY opinion. I was happy the other lady was taking care of us as I overheard several mistakes she made with other customers. The other issue was that NO owner NOR manager seemed to be present. It seemed as though the 2 waitresses were running the show, which shouldn’t be. I noticed a large man, who appeared to be a cook, come out from the back/​kitchen at one point but that was it. I certainly wouldn’t give it 5 stars & was reluctant to give it 4, even though I enjoyed my meal. The owner needs to be more «hands on» & to correct these issues. Otherwise he needs to call one of those guys who «fixes» restaurants.

We have been here many times and we enjoy it here.

I’ve been looking for a good gyro since moving from Long Island and although this place is a little far from my house the drive is totally worth it. We started off with the chicken bruschetta, this was very good and the portion size was huge. The toasted garlic bread was perfectly toasted, crunchy outside, bakery fresh throughout.
The gyro platter was amazing. Again, huge portion, and everything was so fresh. The gyro meat was nicely seasoned, not overly garlicky like I’ve found in other places. The texture was perfect! I have found my go to gyro place.
The staff was hyper friendly and service speed was adequate.

What can I say.
The Pork.
This is our third time eating here and each time has been amazing. The food does take a little while to come out but for a good reason. Everything is fresh! We tend to gravitate towards the specials which are on the pricier side. It is worth it, the flavors are clean, delicious… along with the great portions. It’s impossible to eat it all in one sitting.
Having tried every decent restaurant in the Poconos I can honestly say this is one of the best.

Whenever we go to PA we need to stop here!!! Amazing food, large portions and friendly service it doesn’t get better than this!!! Must try if you live in the area or just visiting! You won’t be disappointed!!! Can’t wait to go back!

I am always looking for a good Gyro and have only found a few good spots here in the Stroudsburg area — mark this another one!
I’ve been there a couple times and each time have had the Gyro — consistent, yummy and a very good portion! I recently went with my two little girls and they tried the pizza — I even grabbed a piece and it was very good as well.
Pizza you say in a place that has Gyros and a name like that? There looks to be a great Italian menu and if the food we have tried is any indication I’m sure it is delicious.
This is a great little spot, clean, very friendly service and you can tell they take a great deal of pride in giving you the freshest meal possible.
I’m looking forward to exploring more of the menu and going again soon.
Don’t pass this place by as it is a bit difficult to see as there are a number of signs and businesses in the little area.

Went to the restaurant with a family of five and had a great time because it is BYOB. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We each ordered a plate of food. When the food came out the plates where huge. Let’s say we had lunch for the next day. The owner/​chef even came out to see how things where going. Very nice and friendly place will go back.

Best Pasta in Town!
We ordered Chicken Parmesan and Calamari Pasta, it was perfect.
The sauce is always fresh, recommended

This restaurant offers the most authentic Greek dishes you will find anywhere in Monroe County. My husband and I love Greek food and have tried, and been disappointed, so many times, we almost didn’t give this little jewel a try. But our desire for some traditional Greek dishes took us to the doorstep of Stephanikos and we are sooooooo glad we did. Everything is fresh and prepared for you to order. The staff is professional and friendly and helpful, ready to give you the best service you could hope for. We haven’t tried every item on the menu, YET, but give us time. This place will be a regular stop for us. Do not miss the Bakalava Cheesecake. It is insane.
