I’ve been here a few times over the many years they have been in business and the food is always consistent and a good value. The owners are super pleasant and on the floor with the customers. Gracie’s is a reliable, enjoyable establishment to frequent.

Food was great. Definitely call ahead — we got there shortly after they opened for dinner(about 5:15p) and they were packed by 5:30p. Fish was great and the breeding just right(not too much, not too little), Burger was excellent and Shepherd’s Pie was amazing. Bring the family!

Might be good who knows? Sign said they were open, website said they were open, VM said come on down. Walked there from town… CLOSED.

A Stowe restaurant founded and centered around being a dog lover? What’s not to like?! The owner or manager seated us to our table and took our drink order. And when I ordered a Focal Banger, he even talked beer with us for a little bit and about the new Alchemist brewery being built just down the road from Gracie’s. Very personable service. After being sidetracked by an adorable Cavalier puppy that was confused by how leashes worked on the patio, we each ordered a burger, because if there is one thing that Vermont knows, it’s how to create and serve a grass fed, steroid free burger. Gracie’s was no exception. After a fairly unpretentious dinner with great beer and just as good burgers with a top notch service from some dude talking the LT with us, we left to our place in Morrisville satisfied. Gracie’s is a mainstay in the Stowe area for a reason.

We thought we would eat dinner early before 6 to avoid the rush… wrong! The place was packed with many family groups. We were fortunate to get one of the last available tables being a party of 2 without a reservation. Others were told the next time available would be 9 pm! They make their own bread which has was very tasty. We bought a loaf to take with us. We had shepherds pie and prime rib dinner. Both were very good. We’d recommend this place to our friends. Make reservations!

Not having been in this area before, of course we «Yelped» to see what restaurants were rated highly. Is Unilocal a verb? Anyway, we went with Gracie’s. We pulled into the parking lot and it was jammed — on a Thursday night. Good sign ! The menu offered a variety of interesting dishes. First we ordered drinks… Grey Goose martini and a Blue Sapphire gin on the rocks. We received premium labels at a reasonable price. Already a good thing ! My wife and I split the haddock with honey crusted pecans and rice pilaf and the Waldorf salad which was served with a delightful balsamic dressing and honeyed pecans. Oh my gawd ! It was to die for ! I’m not kidding. Including the drinks, the absolutely wonderful pumpkin bread served complimentary, and the two dishes, it came to about $ 55. I heartily endorse and recommend this restaurant. It is absolutely DELISH ! Go eat here ! We’re from Seattle so I’m only sorry we’re not close enough to have several more meals here.

Zweimal hier gegessen.

Saturday night, our first real evening in Stowe. Went to a couple of popular places that were way too crowded, couldn’t eat there. Drove to Gracie’s. It was crowded, but we found two spots at the bar. One of the best things about Gracie’s is they offered multiple sizes on their Praline Haddock. My wife wasn’t too hungry, was able to get 4 oz. of Haddock, the perfect size for her. It was very good. More restaurants should give a choice of portion sizes on fish. I asked the bartender, Desiree, about the Shepherd’s Pie. She said it was very good. We had looked at Unilocal before we went and thought I had seen a negative comment or two about that dish, but I trusted Desiree because of the confidence she exuded with her comment. The Shepherd’s Pie was very good, perhaps the best I have ever had due to the high quality beef it contained. The mashed potatoes were very good, the only negative I could say was there was a disproportionate amount of corn to peas. The bread before dinner was nicely made. The price of our drinks, a Chardonnay and a vodka martini, were reasonable. It is so nice to see a restaurant not rip people off with drink prices. As a former restaurant worker, from busboy to manager to owner, I know the profit margins of everything on the menu. Gracie’s is a restaurant in a tourist location that is not trying to take advantage of their locale to have great margins. That explains why, along with the high quality of food and service, why the restaurant was so crowded. A lot of locals are eating at Gracie’s. A final word has to be stated about our server, Desiree, the bartender. It is so nice to have a server laugh with you, have a great attitude, and truly enjoy her job. She helped make us want to be there, and, even come back. She understood when we were joking with her. She did a great job mixing drinks. We were disappointed with the Maple martini, but that was not her fault. She also was fast and efficient, and acknowledged her customers when needed. Kudos to you, Desiree.

After hours of hiking in Smugglers Notch, I was tired and hungry and wanted comfort food. Unilocal came to the rescue with top-notch reviews. I walked in at 7 p.m. on a Monday night and observed only three seats taken at the bar with the Red Sox and Yankees game about to start on the TV. Great! I thought about getting a burger but Unilocalers liked their ribs. Hmm. I ordered a half rack of ribs(delicious, slid off the bones) with a ¼ pound of bbq chicken(tender and aided with the sauce). It came with fries(crispy but a tad salty) and cole slaw(unexpectedly on the drier side but very tasty). If only the Sox were playing better… but for Gracie’s, great!

Service was excellent. Food was ok. Were there with a large party. Some steaks were not cooked as ordered. I remembered this restaurant when visiting the area last year as being really good. This visit– just ok.

We were staying at Arbor Inn in Vermont which is next door to this place. We had visited Burlington and were very late for dinner. The owner of Arbor Inn gave us a 15% discount coupon for Gracies and showed us the way there. We were glad we came here. We got a nice outdoor seat and both had order seafood dishes. The food was delicious and even more delicious was the simple toasted bread.

I’ve been to Gracie’s several times now in each of its locations(it’s been in either two or three spots since I’ve started visiting Stowe), and each time, it’s one of my favorite places to eat when I’m in Stowe. When I was younger, I loved going to Gracie’s because of its dog theme — there are photos of dogs everywhere and the menu is full of items named after different breeds of dogs(some burgers include The Boxer, The Chihuahua, and The Blazing Beagle Burger). Being a little older now, I still love going to Gracie’s because the food is really good(and I still love seeing all the dog photos hung up around the restaurant). I’m looking forward to visiting Stowe, and Gracie’s, again next year!

We had reservations for a group of 12, but when we arrived we realized we had miscounted and we were actually a group of 14. The person in our group who spoke to the manager is the sweetest, kindest, most courteous person in the world. She asked if they could accommodate 14 instead of 12. The manager, oozing arrogance, said to her«Sorry Honey, it’s Saturday» and would not help us. As it turned out the restaurant remained half empty the entire evening and we could easily have been accommodated. Not wanting to spend the rest of my life behind bars I let it slide, and decided to mention the incident here. I lead groups tours to Stowe twice a year and this place is permanently off my list. There are many options in Stowe and we do not have to deal with management like this.

We were a bit skeptical before going to Gracie’s, but wanted to give it a try. Switchback on tap was a nice treat. We ordered onion rings and meatloaf cupcakes for the table and the four of us were not disappointed in the least. Onion rings were great and plentiful. Meatloaf was good comfort food. We were served complimentary bread that was quite hearty. My husband and one son ordered the ribs and said they were among the best ribs ever. My other son and I had The Boxer burger and these, too, were among the best. The fries were wonderful. Four stars is only because of its more casual atmosphere. The wait staff couldn’t have been better and the food is worth it to make it a yearly stop.

Started off good with delicious homemade bread. But we had 3 different servers throughout the night, and waited over an hour for our meals… There were only two of us. We wanted to give them the benefit of he doubt, but the restaurant crowd was average and there were no apologies. Food was pretty good, décor was odd, pricey, unorganized, don’t make a special trip.

A-OK. I had a solid meal at Gracie’s with friendly service. My friend and I ate at the bar since the wait for a table would have been about 30−40minutes. I ordered the shepherds pie. The meat, gravy, cheese, corn and potatoes had a good ration and solid flavor. My friend had a pulled pork sandwich which he said he enjoyed. If I’m in the area, I wouldn’t mind coming back, but I would probably try someplace else first. Also, this place has a dog themed decore. I absolutely LOVE dogs, however, found it a bit strange to be looking at all of their pictures in a food establishment… maybe there’s a story behind that.

Heading to Stowe for the first time we did our research and Gracie’s was well reviewed so we headed there for dinner. It definitely lived up to its rave reviews. Be sure to make a reservation as this place gets packed. The service was outstanding and everyone made you feel right at home. Great vibe and great food. The sweet potato fries were outstanding and the rib appetizer pleased everyone. Two of us got their fish(one dinner and one sandwich) and it was tasty. Their homemade special rolls are amazing and made the sandwich even better. The burgers are generous in size and the shepard’s pie was a hit as well. Would definitely return and would suggest this great place for families and couples looking for a great dinner.

The walls are covered with photo of generations of well loved family pets(dogs only — cat lovers find some place) makes for a warm and inviting atmosphere. Great restaurant with a huge menu with something for everybody and anybody. Nice selection of local beers on tab. Friendly and helpful staff. I had the Shepard Pie, it was a bit unusual with the main vegetable being corn, but it was easily the BESTSHEPHERDPIE I ever had. For dessert we shared a «doggie bag» 3 ways. It is a chocolate lovers dream, a white chocolate bag filled with chocolate mousse and then covered with hot fudge. Amazing but not for the faint of heart.

This was my second vacation to Stowe and I tried a place I’ve never heard of. That was Gracie’s. I walked in and the first thing an old man said was«Oh, you’re rubbing it in, eh?» That was because I was wearing a Philadelphia Flyers sweatshirt. Makes sense… The décor was out of the ordinary, every single picture in the restaurant was a dog. The owner’s dog was named Gracie, so they named the restaurant after her. Anyways, let’s get on to the most important part, the food! The service was very good. Everyone was very nice! I got the Memphis Pulled Pork Sandwich. The flavor of the BBQ Pork was amazing! The BBQ Sauce was also really good. It was a nice quiet place to grab a bite for my first day in Stowe(second vacation)!
