Gentle Giants Sleigh and Carriage Rides

We had a very nice time and Rochelle was great. It was a little expensive $ 100 for 25 min or so of a ride through the woods for 6 people. Horses seem to be well cared-​for and driver very nice. Still… a little expensive!

I was definitely disappointed by this carriage ride. It was $ 97 without tip for 2 people. The ride was only 20 minutes and featured an abandoned phone tower, branches that hit your head, and a view of the highway. It was not picturesque or romantic in any way. The only seemingly good thing about this company is that they treat their horses well, which I appreciate. The ride would have been worth $ 35, not $ 97.

Our family rode with this carriage company this afternoon. We made a reservation for 4 adults, and two children. With it being a holiday week, we were charged $ 48 per adult, $ 27 for one child, while our 1 year old was free (the only benefit). We were put on a ride with 6 – 8 people with us, for a ride that was supposed to be «private». The driver then asked my 5 year old daughter to sit on a young mans lap to make more room. (She didn’t and sat on her fathers lap). We then took a tour of high tension wires, through a lightly wooded area with poorly lit solar lights (most were not working), while looking at Rt. 108. We were disappointed to say the least. Not worth the money!

My wife and I had a fabulous Carriage ride with Scotty, our driver, and Jack, the horse. The scenery was beautiful along the ride and Scotty was very warm and cordial driver.

this is the cutest, most romantic thing I’ve done so far with my boyfriend. as soon as I heard of this I had to drag him to go but he loved it too. it would have been nice if he proposed but it was so cold that day (for me at least) it probably would have been like do I have to take the rings now? I want to leave my gloves on! lol. anyway I think everyone should go here and take a little sleigh ride.

What’s more romantic than a ride through snowy Vermont fields in a one-​horse open sleigh? I couldn’t think of anything, so I decided to propose during our ride this weekend.
Gentle Giant has a stable of a half-​dozen Belgian and Percheron horses that rotate in and out of service every four hours or so. Rides last 25 – 30 minutes on a loop through horse trails and mixed-​use cross country and snowshoe trails and our driver was happy to tell us every detail about the horses, the sights and the sleigh.
They have two smaller ‘couples’ sleighs and a larger, family-​sized sled. Cost is $ 29.50 per adult and children under a certain age are free (not sure what the cut-​off is, but a two-​year-​old and an infant after us rode gratis).
A fantastic idea for a couple looking for some New England romance or for a family or small group looking for a unique experience.
