Another delicious dinner. The gluten free pizza is amazing. Still love the meatballs and the risotto is perfect. My mom said the seafood linguine was the best she has had. We did have a few issues… steak not cooked correctly and they brought me non gluten free pizza. However, our server was amazing and took the meals off our check.

There are two things I love in life… Good food and UCONN women’s basketball. Last year my parents ate at Genos before a UCONN game and had nothing but rave reviews. This year after traveling with my mom from NY to watch a game I was almost as excited to see the game as I was to eat at Geno’s. The food absolutely lived up to my expectations, the arugla salad was delicious as was the linguine with clam sauce and my mom loved the chicken parm. While the food couldn’t have been more of a hit the service left something to be desired… We arrived at 7:50 for an 8pm reservation and were told our table would be ready momentarily. We were early so I was thrilled. At 8:25 after watching 2 other tables sit I decided to check with the hostess(I knew it was going to be busy after a game and was totally cool with waiting!). She was super sweet and informed me that the table we were waiting for had finished eating a while ago and was just sitting around… and would inform the manager of our wait. We were seated at about 8:30 and the manager immediately came over to apologize and take our drink order. That’s when things took a turn for the worse. Matt our waiter came to take our order and my mom stated that she wanted to purchase 4 of their wine glasses(my parents had bought 2 on their last visit and loved them) and Matt said no problem. He took our order and brought out a bread basket and said he would be back with their homemade spread. We never got the spread. Around 9:10 our salad was delivered the manager asked us if we would like pepper which we said we would… We never got pepper. As I stated we were both thrilled with our entrees. The check came and when I paid it my mom reminded Matt that we would like to purchase the glasses. He said we were lucky because they were«hard to come by» earlier in the night and that he’d be right back with them. After waiting 20 minutes and watching him bounce between 1 table and the register… We left glassless and upset. It’s a shame that something I was looking so forward to left me feeling frustrated because of a group of people with no attention to detail. While I’ll always be a UCONN fan it would take a lot for me to be a Geno’s Grille fan…

I used to order the clam pasta to have the clams… Usually I got 10 or more of them. Today I got 6, for 25 dollars!

The food is good and most of the staff is spot on. The only complaint is the foods caliber doesn’t quite match the price. You’re going to be spending a lot for food that just doesn’t quite justify it. Don’t let that scare you off however, the atmosphere is friendly and inviting and the food won’t disappoint as long as your wallet can take a hit.

Food was adequate, and very over priced for the area. Wine was $ 9 a glass, and not a great pour! Probably won’t go back. Shame because our daughter attends UCONN and we were looking for a nice place to take her when we visit.

Everytime we go there, there’s more people waiting, even during unexpected hours(2:30PM on a sunday). Our hostess was smart, offering a ‘not so popular’ table close to the bar instead of letting us waiting and potentially go somewhere else. The salad with the Salmon was both good looking and yummy, Geno is not cheap with fish quality. The basic ceasar salad is very fresh so was the chicken sandwich. I was a little disappointed with the size of the Pizza. It’s too expensive for 1 person and too small for 2. Even if the basic Margherita tastes wonderful with an excellent Pesto and Olive Oil on top, and a nice quality cheese, it seems that the portions are somewhat small. Deserts are worth it, the Lava cake was a killer. A good choice overall, with an expectation of a slightly larger quantity for the price. And the service team does an excellent job.

We had an early supper on Sunday of UCONN Parents weekend. We waited 20 minutes — the restaurant does not take reservations in the afternoon. We were served a chickpea dip with bread and olive oil. The fried artichoke appetizer was crispy, light and fresh — three pieces per serving. My son had a salad which was also very good. Orechiette Bolognese is a huge portion of pasta with lots of meat and flavor — easily shared as an entrée for two or appetizer for four. I had the risotto with cumin flavored chicken — a huge plate of risotto with a skimpy piece of bone-in chicken. Good, but it would have been nice to have more chicken. My son had angel hair pasta with meatballs. The meatballs had an Indian flavor — not very appetizing in an Italian restaurant. Perhaps the spices from my chicken dish made it into the marinara sauce. The service is friendly but not high end. My husband’s wine was served just as he was finishing his entrée. I saw other food being served — portions were huge– pasta fagioli, chicken parm, and gnocchi. UPDATE — 1÷17÷2016 They now take reservations. The service was much better this time. I had the fired artichokes again. EXCELLENT — crispy and fresh. The pasta fagioli was average. The tomato sauce in the baked pasta special had that Indian flavor again… very unappetizing. I tried to change my rating to three stars but can’t edit that part of the review. If you must eat here, order carefully and judiciously.

The food is so bad — the portions are so small, and the prices are so high, not to mention that the food is highly acidic so I got acid reflux after eating there. My boyfriend got the pasta dish with the clams and he said it was way too salty. The service is good but the food is unfortunately lacking for an established«fine dining» experience.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is very welcoming, except for the TVs everywhere, but with the owner being Geno Auriemma I can’t really complain about that. The food is decent, but, in my opinion, can be hit or miss. Their ravioli is delicious, however, last time they over-garnished with the parsley. I’ve gotten the Chicken Parm Sandwich before, which was well cooked and tasty. Unfortunately I thought the Chicken Parm pasta was subpar– the chicken was very overcooked and dry and the sauce tasted like it was out of a spaghetti-o’s can. I had their cheese pizza the first time I went and I thought it was awful, but to be fair I am very picky about my pizza. I thought the sauce was too overbearing and there wasn’t enough cheese. The wait staff is very pleasant and never overbearing. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Overall, the place is decent. I really only go there when I’m in the mood for their ravioli. I also try to go mostly in the summer or during school vacations when UConn students aren’t around because it can get too busy. Also, it’s pretty expensive, so having a chicken parm that tastes like its out of a can is pretty upsetting.

The food is fancy but the restaurant comes across as somewhat casual. Recommend: Shrimp Scampi Chicken Parm Carbonara The salmon dish looked pretty tiny and doesn’t seem worth it to me. The wait is awhile for the food.

Went to Geno’s a few weeks ago while visiting family in the Storrs area. My friend is really info basketball and always wanted to check out Geno’s because of the UConn Women’s BBall team and it a pretty good experience! The atmosphere was casual but I could definitely see myself going on a romantic date there. The food very delicious and I think it was appropriately priced for the taste and portion size you get. I love gnocchi and I’ve eaten it at a bunch of Italian places in the Northend in Boston, but the Geno’s gnocchi was definitely up there! It was really light and the sauce was delicious. I would absolutely return.

Went here for a bachelorette party extravaganza and was really pleased! The dip they brought with the bread was ridiculously good and they ahve a nice wine list. The bread tasted homemade and had a nice crust on it. I loved their selection of specials. We tried the risotto, which was cooked pretty nicely and had great flavor. We also had one of the pizza specials, the bolognese, and the gnocchi. Iw as surprised how light and airy the gnocchi was. Usually when you have gnocchi at a restaurant it is hard and heavy. The sauce on the gnocchi was a beautiful fresh tomato sauce. The bolognese was well prepared, but I prefer mine with a bit of a richer sauce. I love that they topped it with ricotta!!! Our server was very pleasant and we were very happy with the food! Will definitely be back here again!

First time visiting Geno’s Grille or the Storr area it was a little difficult to find being the signage is placed above the first level of the building and not visible from the sidewalk and there’s barely anyway to identify the entrance saying all of that it’s worth stopping in, parking is up the hill so there is no driving by this place. I came here with a business associate at his suggestion and we weren’t disappointed. We were met at the entrance and greeted immediately by the hostess and seated at a half booth. Our server came and took our drink order and brought us some fresh bread and herbed oil. The bread was thick cut soft Italian with a dark seeded crust it was fresh and enjoyable. Our drink order did take about ten minutes to arrive that was a little surprising being the restaurant and bar wasn’t busy when we arrived I will say I ordered cheese stuffed olives with my martini that wasn’t offered but they did make some up so it was definitely worth the wait it was exceptional. We both ordered the house Caesar Salad it is served a la carte it was fresh but I must say a little disappointing for $ 8.50 it was under dressed with giant croutons. it wasn’t chilled or even cold and neither was the plate(I would expect more from looking at the clientele they are catering to) but it was fresh . I ordered the seafood pasta which included small penne pasta(cooked perfectly) nice tail on shrimp, scallops and mussels in a red sauce with capers and olives although the portion was a little on the small size for the price it was an exceptional dish. My friend ordered the Chicken Parmesan served with linguine he said it was as good as it looked and it really looked great the presentation was perfect. Overall we were very happy with the choice to dine here and I definitely would return, the staff was very professional and very attentive they offer a nice seating area at the bar the lighting is great as is the décor. Solid value in my opinion.

The staff was nice and the ambiance is casual. The gnocchi with chicken and spinach was presented well, but the chicken was not cooked.
