We’ve been going to the Fireside for many years as the Friday night stop on our way to Haverstraw Marina for the weekend. The hidden gem here is the kitchen’s treatment of Italian dishes, my goto has always been angel hair pasta and meat sauce which is off the menu and simply my favorite. Nothing close to it from here to Arthur Avenue. No, as has been stated in past reviews this dish has never made me sick, and the leftover is still good three days later. Rolatini, pasta primavera, all made with«fresh» shrimp(yes I know virtually all shrimp here is frozen), is just wonderful. The favorite for the wife is the Fireside Salmon. She has salmon EVERYWHERE, the world over, and this dish is by far her standard. Go figure. As we’ve become regulars, our fav server is Jean(hope the name spelling is correct) with whom we never need a menu. The only drawback I can see is the steaks and beef dishes may need to be kicked up to a higher quality of grass-fed cuts, perhaps using more prime and more of a charred taste finish would help. Increase the prices a bit for prime cuts labeled as such. The meats are your core dishes! Use Steve’s in Congers as a purveyor, maybe? Thanks for all the tomato juice, wines, water refills, Yankee games, awesome family style salads, and the amazing Italian dishes.

A wonderful restaurant — great food and amazing service. Dined here with friends last night and everything was just terrific — the buffalo calamari was tasty with a nice kick, yummy penne vodka and a scrumptious blueberry pie. Tara, our server, was just spectacular; super-friendly, attentive and delightful. Can’t wait to go back!

I love this place, staff has always been kind to me and the food is very good. Also, very filling. I won’t give 5stars for the simple fact they do not have regular mashed potatoes.

The service is always great even when it’s busy. The food is very good for pub food but is a little pricey for what you get which is why it gets only 4 stars. The pizza is great and believe it or not the ribs are very good. And I’m a BBQ guy. I don’t say that about ribs much. There is also an entrée worth checking out. The veal fireside. Get that with the twice baked potato and it on! Parking is easy except late at night.

Still great service and food. Always busy but never a lack of service or hospitality. I usually get a bar pie and some drinks and am never disappointed. Thanks again

Had to counter John O’s five staff employee rating bump. If you want to add details and tips about the restaurant then add it in the tips section not as a review with a star measure.

Food was pretty good however we will never go back. Opened up our leftovers this morning to find a dead fly in them.

Avoid the bolognase n pasta— it’s not on the menu and shouldn’t be on typist plate either. I had the runs from it. It is one of those meals you order special. Ugh

The service here is friendly, and the food is consistently good. I wouldn’t call it gourmet, nor is it too creative, but you won’t get a bad meal. It’s a decent family place and you’ll find yourself coming back.

I think this is the best kept secret in Stony Point. The food is delicious and varied. I just love when the chef tries something new. The service is friendly and you feel like you are part of the gang. It’s a pub with high end food. My only caveat is that the bar area gets very loud as it is in the center of the restaurant. A great stop for anyone. When you are there order the Beef Stronganoff. They sometimes have it on special. My fiancé says it’s the best he’s ever tasted.
