I was in the store located in Stony Brook @ approximately 2 pm. My wife and I were looking to buy a gas stove as ours had broken last night. After looking around online at different models and pricing we decided to choose Lowes as the place we wanted to buy from as several local places had the say stove at the same price but we up until today liked Lowes and their customer service. We arrived and found the model we were looking at online and were very happy. I asked a customers service rep if there was someone who could help us as he was busy at the moment with another customer which is understandable. We waited approximately 10 minutes with no help coming. My wife hit the button near the appliance desk for help and again we waited. several minutes later two customer service reps appeared and said they don’t work in that section but would find the person that does. They returned a short time later and informed me that that person was not available as she wanted to leave due to the up coming holiday and apparent short staffing. They did call the manager who I guess was no help also at this point. I understand the New Years eve is a holiday being in public service I work this day almost every year. But we really needed to get our problem resolved and looked to Lowes for help. Although Lowes is further from our home then two other Home Depots we go there all the time. Most recently to purchase our Christmas tree. We have been loyal customers turning to Lowes for all our building supply needs. I can’t stress enough how truly disappointed I am. The reason we pass up two our Home Depots is the same reason we are now turned off to Lowes. POORCUSTOMERSERVICE. Thank you for not helping in a true time of need.

This is(ONLY) the PLUMBINGDEPARTMENT… I have no beef w/the rest of the store… yet. Guy in plumbing was rude and abrupt and was dead wrong. My part(fitting) was/is on the shelf… Found it WITHOUT his help… I think his name is Dick… when i know for sure, I’ll edit this review.

I like Lowes except for a few things: No military discount Its farther for me to drive and I pass the other Building Supply Company The parking lot is a PIA I don’t have a Lowe’s Credit Card Other than what I listed, if I’m in the mall and in a hurry I’ll swing by. I feel the quality of the products being sold here are better than the other place. All in all, a nice place I visit when I’m in the area

Prefer it over my neighborhood Home Depots, — yes«Depots»,(plural), because i have 3 Depots within a 3 mile area and I still prefer Lowes. Staff is visible and helpful, garden center is much more varied, so is the rest of the store.

This is my go-to super-mega-hardware store. I can usually find what I want there. Their prices are reasonable(though not the lowest around) and more often than not their employees are helpful. Returns are quick and easy, especially during early morning hours. Checkout can be slow. They usually have only one human cashier on duty at a time, forcing people to the less-than-user-friendly automated checkout machine. A few years back I ordered some vinyl flooring with installation. When the flooring came into the store the price nearly doubled from the original estimate. I cancelled the order and haven’t used them for any home improvement work since.

The one star is for the other times I’ve come here. I live within 5 miles of this store and am here at least 3 times on most weeks. Working in retail I never really ask for help and when I do it’s the bare minimum but gets me by. The only time I ever get real help is when I imagine their corporate people are there.(Clipboards and overly bubbly. We all know the drill). Anyway I’m very into doing work around the house myself. I had called the store to find out if they cut wood and I got«yes» and was hung up on. I went in despite the fact I’m pregnant and had my infant son because it was a rainy day and I figured they’d be slow and I wouldn’t be taking too much time. I hauled my older molding in so I’d have the measurements. When I got to the cutter the RUDEST human being told me I was wasting my time because HE didn’t do slanted cuts. And went back to helping another employee unload wood. I said oh is there someone that can? He told me to find someone to help. I assumed he meant someone in the store but what he eventually told me was not to do this myself hire a contractor.(Was he paying for that)?. I was very upset at our rude exchange and moved my cart with my son in it to call my fiancé to see where else i could go and his employee friend nearly ran me over with the fork truck. I Actually screamed. I went to another employee at a desk and asked for a manager and without looking up this rude employee told me there wasn’t one. I know this sounds like an angry rant but I can assure you I’ve had bad experiences here before but I grew up in retail and I get it. I face things forward, take from the back and put things I don’t want away if I change my mind. I was very polite although exhausted and no one could help me or would get the manager. On my way out i saw a man with a «service manager» vest. I assume he was the manager but at his point whatever. I prefer lowes to Home Depot and usually don’t let service issues get to me but this was unreal. I’ll definitely be reevaluating if it’s worth feel like an ass and shopping here anymore. Adding to this I just opened my second gallon of paint that I opened which I got at the same time and it’s a different fucking color that the first. Found this out after I touched up the room and now have spots everywhere of the wrong color. DONOTCOMEHEREIFYOUNEEDHELPSHOPPINGOREVENHAVE A SIMPLEQUESTION. Rude rude rude
