One of the closest Chinese restaurant to school. Ordered few times from there. The food is okay, can be better. It’s convenient because of the parking lot, no need to look around for a parking space. Both times, I’ve ordered, I’ve found hair. Hmm, it’s definitely not mine. Not sure if I want to order from them again.

I love this place! It’s super good! Everything is made to order and you can always make little changes here and there on the menu. I always get their shrimp with broccoli and I add chicken to it. I love their sauce. The portion is really generous and most of the time I always eat it for two meals. Their delivery service is super fast. There is a little eat in area at this place too.

Although this I came to this restaurant rather frequently, that’s only because they close to the movies. But honestly, this is the nastiest Chinese food I have ever had. Do the chefs even know how to cook? Goddam! Well, at least it’s edible. What I know for sure is that the Chinese joints around this place make it the worst one by comparison. Nice guys working here, but they gotta cook higher quality food! This place is like a magnet in that it repels me and my friends away.

Generally, when trying a different Chinese food place than normal, I’ll get a staple item such as chicken and broccoli or general tso’s chicken. I went here for lunch recently with a friend and would definitely not return. While the staff was friendly and the restaurant looked pretty clean, the food was way below par on taste. I love Chinese food but couldn’t eat half a lunch special. Would not recommend.

Ok. I got the chicken and broccoli again. It was horrible! How can a chinese take out boil chicken and broccoli!!! That is insane! It’s supposed to be stir fried. There’s no wonder why it taste bad. And I thought fjs make the best chicken and broccoli.. Disappointed. Ok and I found out the sweet and sour sauce was indeed for the crab rangoons. But why do I need a pint of it? Also it’s watery in texture which is not how it is suppose to be.

Absolutely delicious!!! Hot & Sour Soup, Sesame Chicken & amazing Crab Rangoon– are just a few of our favorites. Very reasonably priced with a large menu selection. We’ve been eating there for years!

My favorite dish in King Wah is General Tso’s chicken. The prices are very cheap especially for college kids.

Favorite dish is the san sien with lo mein. Great portions with nice thick slices of meats and vegetables. Excellent soups, dumplings and boneless ribs.

This famly run business has had over 40 years of providing a variety of Chinese food to their customers. They accommodate special orders and customer request. The food is your typical american chinese food at a low price. The recipes have change slightly over the years but you will always find the clasic staples that will satisfy your Chinese craving. You will always find town regulars in this restaurant, so the true ratings can only be seen by the busy body kitchens, the constant phone orders, the boxes of delcious food waiting to be picked up. This is the ultimate take out hub.

King Wah take-out is pretty decent. I don’t think it’s fair to completely undermine it since the people who usually order from King Wah already know they’re not ordering 5-star restaurant quality food. We’re just hungry college kids looking for some tasty Chinese. I mean, let’s be real, I’m no Iron Chef. Their portions are good, I usually have leftovers, and their combination dinners are good if you kind of want a little bit of everything for a set price. They have yummy eggrolls and pretty good soup.

The reviews that are put up come from non asian people so definitely not worth a grain of salt if you’re actually looking for reliable reviews. The food would be rated decent at best. Definitely one of the better chinese take out places to order from or to eat at. Price is kind of high though, but they delivery quickly and portions are pretty good. If you order a egg roll or any type of roll from them, be ready with a entire roll of bounty. Got one included with my dinner order the other day, when I bit into it a stream of oil flowed of from the other end. On top of that my hands were greasy just from holding it. By the end of it, expect to have a pool of oil on the table from the leaking oil.

I’m going to have to disagree with the first two reviewers as I love the food here as do many others. I was just here last night and the place was hopping with business just like every other time i have been there. To be fair, I only stop here two to three times a year. Usually we bring home food for at least six adults. This time it was just my wife and I. She only had a pint of chicken fried rice and I had a chicken and broccoli combo meal. There was plenty of each along with a generous amount of pork fried rice. We’ll be stopping back on our next new York visit.

If I had a choice to give no stars to King Wah Kitchen — I would. This place is utterly the quintessential Chinese take out place where American citizens fear and cringe at the words«Chinese take-out» Although me and my girlfirend only went there once and ordered two dishes — General Tso’s Chicken & Chicken with vegetables — it was so disgusting that I could not eat a quarter of the way. Their General Tso Chicken was loaded with flour and barely any chicken at all, what’s worse their sauce was horrid. Their fried rice seemed like weeks old and microwaved. Their vegetables were not fresh, and their chicken was flat out disgusting. Their white rice seemed like a month old — it was hard and crusty. So, if you are a Stony Brook student and you are hungry please AVOID this place at all costs. Try Chung How Kitchen on Rt.25A, eat at the university, just don’t eat here. It’s not like their food is cheap either… Moreover, their kitchen looks scary and dark — and since I always walk around the shopping area(which houses Waldbaums, a LOEWS, Marshalls) — I barely see any business at all here. And talking with Stonybrook students — I discovered many found this place disgusting too. I really wonder if this place will be closing soon. Just avoid. Period.
