I really enjoy eating at The Roost. The staff are so friendly and look they enjoy working there. The food is awesome. I had a breakfast pizza and it was off the hook. This is my number one spot for breakfast when I leave the Catskills.

Stopped in for breakfast while on a fishing trip midweek. Friendly staff, good service and well priced items. My boyfriend really enjoyed his breakfast(sweet potato hash, grounded sausage and over easy eggs). I had the fried chicken and waffles. I wasn’t too thrilled not because it didn’t taste good but because I found the chicken to be a little too oily and not all of t was white meat(which is pretty much all I eat). I would come back for sure and try some other items on the menu. Super cute place!

I met my friend at The Roost today for breakfast. It was the first time for both of us. We were seated inside immediately. Nick was our server and brought us water very quicklay and asked if we wanted coffee. I got a coffee and Dafne got a Mocha. I was not expecting Stumptown coffee. It was so good. We wanted everything on the menu. Dafne settled on the Pork Chop Platter and I got Two eggs over medium with greens and home fries. And we split a Blueberry Lemon Pancake. I don’t usually like a salad with my eggs but this was delicious. The dressing was so light. The home fries are more like shoe string french fries that were perfectly seasoned. Dafne’s pork chop was cooked really well and both of our eggs were perfect. The pancake was also full of blueberry’s with a nice balance of the lemon. Crisp on the edges but light and fluffy on the inside. There was not a morsel left on either of our plates. The service was attentive and Nick was readily available with fresh coffee and to see if we needed anything. We are already planning on going back next Sunday to try the Chicken Fried Chicken and the Chicken and Waffles! Or the Stuffed French Toast, Avocado Eggs, Steak and Eggs, etc… One thing is for sure. We will be splitting another pancake!

Had a simple wonderful brunch. An open faced corned beef patty melt on marble rye. The apple mayo was nice but I would have preferred the orthodox Russian dressing. Corn beef was tender and juicy. House fries were skinny but well cooked and chewy. All in all pretty nicely done

This place is cute. I loved my waitress. Seriously. Super friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The food was good. What more do you need in a breakfast joint

Waited over a half hour for a seat, then sat for over a half hour without an offer of a menu or a drink. Ended up going somewhere else

Sorry to say My party of four were less than impressed with this place I’ve heard rave reviews about. We had simple brunch food and found our meals to all be oily. The worst offense was the perfect well done fries that for some reason they«spray with oil and herbs» to create soggy greasy fries. Don’t understand it. The quiche in my opinion was way too thick and custardy wet. The side of greens had to much dressing. Everything seemed ladled in too much oil. Nothing had any flavor. Not impressed. Ambience also not what I expected. Only positive was friendly waitress who smiled and was lovely.

Food was great, super fresh. Perfect bacon and best sausage I’ve ever had. Dorothy was the best server. Terrific atmosphere, definitely suggest everyone get it on that

Best place for miles. They took the closed-down Nibble Nook diner and turned it into something much much better. Clean, cozy, friendly, with great food and drinks too. A lot of the reviews might be from city people but this place is open year round and doesn’t charge city prices. It’s great to see a dependable place with great food and fair prices open around here after a decade when it seemed like they all overextended themselves and closed down.

It’s my go too even as it gets too popular for its size. The staff is great and they’ll definitely hustle it when the place is full. My favorite dish is the avocado skillet… avocado home fries two eggs over easy with some kale is amazing my only complaint is sometimes they eggs are a little too well done but I still finish it down to the adorable little iron skillet it served in.

Probably the best breakfast/lunch place around. Went with my son and his girlfriend. He had the stuffed French toast and it was delicious. She had an omelet which she loved and I had the avocado skillet, so good! The coffee was the best I have ever had and was wondering what it was?

We were looking for breakfast while visiting for a wedding and we found this gem. Place was small and filled with people and it was not overwhelming with noise. The service was on point, and the coffee and cream were fresh. The menu selection was simple yet very new age. We had the avocado skillet, the pork skillet, and both were absolutely delicious. The coffee was amazing and I do not like coffee. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

I just took my mom for lunch at the Roost. We were so impressed! We were incredibly satisfied with the quality of the food, the presentation and service. The combination of ingredients was healthy, flavorful and delicious. The portions were very generous and price extremely reasonable — scrumptious. Mom ordered the feta, bacon, spinach, tomato omelette that came with a side salad and skin on fries. The Oreo crusted coconut cream pie was phenomenal. We highly recommend for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The place was crowded as we stepped in; it was the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. The staff seemed light hearted as welcoming. And I had the best pancakes of my life.

Stopped in here on the recommendation of my nephew when my favorite lical place was too packed. Eight of us were seated quickly by a very nice hostess /manager and it was easy to see why this is a local favorite… very nice place inside, though small, and lots of outside seating. Menu isn’t too large, which I like — I’d rather see you do a small menu very well than half-assing a huge menu… and they offer both breakfast and lunch– and we took advantage of the options. We ordered chicken and waffles, chocolate chip pancakes, a Corned Beef melt, grilled salmon sandwiches, biscuits and sausage gravy, avocado egg skillet and an egg sandwich. Let’s see if this tells you how we liked the food, the only thing left on a plate was half the egg sandwich… and that was taken to go o ky because my nephew’s girlfriend wasn’t super hungry. First time my son had chicken and waffles and he HAMMERED them — tried the chicken and it was better than the chicken i had in a soul food restaurant last week(GREATJOB!!). My corned beef melt was served with a side salad and also came with a horseradish and apple mayo(instead of a traditional russian) and it was a tasty switch. Corned beef was excellent. Seriously, it all looked and tasted great! Oooh, I almost forgot… the chicken corn chowder — was amazing! The only issues were because they were so busy i think(there was a lot going on locally so they probably just didn’t expect the huge turnout. The lunch I really wanted wad their burger, but they had run out of their burgers and also had no carmalized onions(which I didn’t understand since they must have a grill and they had raw onions… they could have made more. Service was a little slow(again, they were oacked so I’m not gonna kill thrm on it as my nephew says it’s not like that normally), but by the time I got my meal everyone else was half done with theirs… A nice pisitive for a place like this is that they have a liquor license so they serve beer and wine… which was a nice add-on for a hot day. Overall if I could give half stars I’d probably say 3.5, but the food and ambiance and our waitress were all way too good to give 3… so 4 it is. I love small local places like this that have their own flair and personality. Try The Roost, you’ll enjoy it…

Went in for breakfast on a Saturday morning… loved it so much we came back for more on Sunday! Fast, SUPER friendly service. The place was full but not overly crowded on Saturday morning. I dined on the avocado skillet while my husband tried out the cornbeef hash. The skillet was fantastic. Tiny shredded crispy potatoes with onions and spinach under a fried egg and avocado. YUM. The husband had nothing but rave reviews on the homemade hash. There were too many good things left unordered on the menu, so we decided to come back for Sunday brunch! Bonus points: the patio was open! This time the husband couldn’t refuse the fried chicken and pancakes(his take on chicken and waffles) and I tried the grilled chicken panini from the lunch menu. Both were great, though I think the breakfast menu was the real winner.

Holy moly. What have I been eating all my life? I had the fried chicken here and it was amazing — turned my life around. There will be no other fried chicken that comes close to this delicious masterpiece. Roost Chicken Fried Chicken-topped w/sausage gravy, w/home fries and greens… I thought the home fries would be just regular tasting but the sausage gravy moved around like a salsa dancer in my mouth. I wish that I could have even more sausage gravy but it definitely was enough for the portion!!! DELICIOUS!!! I NEEDTODRINKIT. The«greens» was also so fresh and I haven’t had much salad that had a crunch to it. If all salads were like this I think I would eat more. The waitress we had was also very friendly and even offered to take our party’s picture, knowing that we were«tourists» hah! The big camera probably didn’t fool them. She was giving us tips from the locals on what to see and where to go. Beautiful lady with a beautiful soul! I could not believe they also sold stumptown coffee, which being from the good old nyc — I APPRECIATED A LOT. The coffee really topped the sundae of a breakfast at this place. Please please please visit here. I wish I could LIVE here.

The Roost, while sporting a nice overall Unilocal rating, lived up to the hype. Assuming they have hype in the Hudson Valley. The staff here was extremely friendly from the beginning. Getting a high chair for our young baby, chatting with us and getting ice cold water and hot coffee(Stumptsown, which if you haven’t had it, is stellar coffee). The menu here is small, but you can tell each dish was made with care. Veggie burgers are often throw aways and taste like they defrosted a patty in back. Not here. The chickpea burger was great as were the thin fries and brioche bun. The pork sandwich was also great with the zucchini pickles. We also ordered a waffle for the baby, but who am I kidding, I just wanted it for myself(and she doesn’t eat much). It too was really good. They had some nice specials, two beers on tap and a ton of housemade dessert. We have a personal strawberry pie on the counter for later. I think there is no doubt I’ll drop in for breakfast before I head out of town.
