First time trying this restaurant! It was a very nice clean place with modern Asian décor. Nice and polite staff who appeared to be familiar with some of the customers which is a good sign because that means they come back. We went to order pick up and ordered shrimp fried rice, garlic fried chicken, house chow mien(minus beef) and sweet and sour pork! Let me just tell you the car smelled amazing the whole ride home! Getting home and tasting all of what we ordered was equally as amazing!!! I’m sold and will definitely go back and try other items on the menu. Been looking for a good local Chinese restaurant and we found it! Yum!!! Thanks Unilocal because the reviews are what lead us here!!!

This place is pretty good. I was really impressed with the beef & asparagus, chicken chow mein, and lamb with green onions. We will definitely come back again for the above! The sauces were great, everything was cooked really well. Yummy. The thing I sort of didn’t care for was the crab puffs.

I need to move inland. There are a lot of good restaurants in Oakland. However Yen Du has the best calamari. My friend, Jameela loves to mix up the mustard and the red sauce. It’s crazy hot, but it is so good. The Mongolian Beef is great too. I must be a oversexed black lady, because the tall Asian waiter really does it for me.

Today I came into Yen Du for dinner sooo thirsty. They must have refilled my water 10 times throughout the meal and not once did my glass ever get empty. Excellent service, and food, as always!

This is me and my boyfriend first time here. After reading the review for Yen Du, we wanted to give it a go. And it didn’t disappoint ! We order the Yen Du dinner for 2. Which have the sizzling rice soup, potstickers, house chicken, Mongolian beef and steam rice. We substitute the Mongolian beef for the Salt and Pepper wings for $ 2 extra, no biggie. And the crab puff on the side. Everything was on point. It looked good and season well. The whole meal cost $ 44. Not bad. We will return again

Oh my, the disappoint struggle is real. I really wanted to really like this place… and the waitresses were so nice… maybe I’ll blame it on taking it to go? Ordered potstickers and the honey walnut shrimp. I ended up paying $ 21 before tip for the two items which seemed a bit steep. The taste and consistency of the shrimp was good, but the portion was rather small which was a disappointment because of the cost. The potstickers… Man. I love potstickers. But sadly I didn’t really love these. The dough was tough and a bit dry, and there wasn’t a whole lot of meat on the inside. I’m hopeful that I just caught them on an off day; will try again and eat there to see if that makes the difference!

From the outside, I thought it was your plain ol’ chinese restaurant. Then when I walked in, I was amazed at the great looking interior, almost being transformed to one of those high class chinese restaurants. Liked: — attentive service — potstickers — lunch special — chicken fried rice — sizzling rice soup Prices are reasonable This has become one of my favorite restaurants in Stockton now. If you have a big group, there a few private rooms as well.

I should start this review by saying that I don’t typically enjoy Chinese food. I went here with a girlfriend from out of town who was craving Chinese and it was probably a mistake, but only because now I’m always craving Yen Du! The honey walnut prawns are to die for. You won’t want to, but you definitely need to share them with a few people because they are super rich. We also had the moo shu pork which I had never tried before. I didn’t care for the sauce, but my friend loved it. We also ordered chicken fried rice which I thought was delicious but could only eat a few bites because we ordered way too much food. Leftovers were good too though!

Sooooo good. Great service, they always remember their customers and the food is sooooooo good. I recommend the eggplant in garlic sauce. I add chicken and tofu in mine for an extra two bucks. Everything on their menu is affordable.

I just ordered wonton soup again, and it it’s the best in Stockton. I also ordered the house chicken lunch special and that is just as good.

Made a stop at Yen Du for dinner. A favorite Chinese restaurant in Stockton. You’ll like the atmosphere and of course, the delicious food. Most importantly, it’s family-operated and they always seem to recognize us when we walk in. Tell Jannet Ju hello the next time you visit.

We came here on a recent holiday. We ordered two lunch specials to-go: House Chicken and Northern Style Vegetable Deluxe. The chicken was small bits, soggy breading drenched in a gelatinous sauce. The best thing about the Veg. meal was that the broccoli was crisp. The free egg roll was saturated with grease and inedible. I was kind of disappointed that the meal comes with plain white rice. I am used to lunch specials coming with fried rice and/or chow mein. By the time I got home(I live less than 10 minutes away) the Styrofoam to-go container had slightly permeated the food, in other words the food kinda tasted like Styrofoam. Something that struck me as odd is the menu outside and to-go had no prices. No biggie, but some folks would like to know what the charge is going to be.

Came in for dinner. Ordered the dinner for two. It came with soup, wontons, Mongolian beef and honey walnut shrimp which I substituted. The soup came first, followed by the wontons, then lastly the entrees. The food came in a timely matter. The food was delicious. The setting is quite small but does have a lot of Chinese decorations. Servers were nice and refilled our waters fast.

I’m from New York my wife’s from San Francisco. Both 1st generation Chinese. Chinese food is our passion. Yen Du is the best Northern chinese cuisine we have anywhere. Special dishes here r My shoo pork is the best anywhere; sizzling rice platter, sautéed bean thread – actually Cantonese dish. But excellent here; dry fry chicken wings to die for; hot spice string bean – delish with just the right spice without overwhelming peppery burn Lunch specials r a bargain Not the same as our favorites in SF but tops in Stockton

I’ve been going to Yen Du since their opening — the high quality of food and service hasn’t diminished over 20 years. It is my favorite restaurant when I’m in Stockton visiting family. I really like the Northern style Vegetable Deluxe — especially the black mushrooms they put in it. The veggies are always fresh and crisp. If you’re a veggie lover, you’ll appreciate how they prepare the vegetables here. The food is never too salty either. It’s the only Chinese restaurant I eat at that leaves me satisfied and never dehydrated from too much salt or feeling yucky from too much grease. The Eight Hot Delicacies and Kung Pao Chicken are also great dishes. The soups and kimchi make great sides to any entrée. I really have no complaints about the food or service. It’s yummy!

My parents have been bringing me and my siblings to Yen Du. and Yen Chin for years! It’s like a family tradition. We like Yen Du more for the atmosphere but I believe they serve the same food. Although We no longer reside in Stockton We make a point to visit at least once a year when they come visit me in Elk grove. The family owned place seems to recognize us and appreciate our business The food is consistently tasty and freshly prepared with plenty of seasonings. Our favorite is the sizzling rice soup as well as mu shu pork; honey walnut prawns; today I had the Mongolian beef lunch combo which was delicious! Fortunately my Co workers in Stockton all love Yen Du too so We come at least once a month to get away from the office and have a family style meal! Thumbs up Yen Du — awesome Chinese food served with a smile.
