the place is hard to find. it’s in the basement, at the back of the store. the salesperson was friendly but also very aggressive. at one point, i just asked her if she works on commission and she answered truthfully«yes.» when the price they quoted me for glasses seemed high, i called costco on the spot to get a price comparison. after that, they lowered their price significantly. ive never had so many problems with glasses before. i had to go back to my optometrist twice to get my prescription adjusted. long story short, the curve of the sears frames appears to have been different from my old ones, and my eyes were really sensitive to that. kim, the manager, was very attentive and finally figured out what the problem was. i would go again, but only if kim handles everything from start to finish.

Called at 1pm for an appointment, and was given an appointment for 2:30pm the same day. Not long after was seen by the doctor, and was out of there with my free starter kit and wearing contact lenses by 3:30pm. Awesome! Just what I needed — fast service and very nice people! The doctor was great, and so were the ladies working there. My only thing is that we both forgot to deduct my student discount, which was the main reason I chose to go there. I called prior to confirm that they offer discounts for students, but when it came time to ring me up, it would have been nice if they asked if I was a student or something just to see if they could save their customer money. I wouldn’t blame it on them too much, coz I forgot, too. Other than that, I really liked them!

After getting an eye exam I browsed the sunglasses section of my local sears. First off, the optical sales people are way too aggressive-it’s comparable to a used car dealership. After a good amount of pressure to purchase something, I explained that I would not order sunglasses unless they could ensure me that they would arrive before my birthday vacation. The sales person checked my prescription and I was told they would arrive within 7 business days, so I ordered a complete pair of sunglasses. They basically lied to me about when my glasses would arrive. My vacation has come and gone and the birthday present I bought for myself is still not here! I was then told by another staff at the same office that the original person who sold me my glasses was incorrect and that it takes 10 business days. It has now been longer than 10 business days. Then I get an email from a sears customer service person stating that glasses can take up to 14 business days. This is absolutely ridiculous. Sears optical appears to be intentionally misleading customers. There are places that offer glasses within a day and sometimes just a few hours. Had I known sears uses such unethical sales tactics, I would have gone to one of your competitors. The only response I have received from sears is basically«that’s too bad.»

I had been going here for years and then tried a new place close to my home. What a mistake. I ended up having to go back to Sears Optical to get the correct prescription and having to pay again. I’ll never go anywhere else again, and I recommend them wherever I go!

They’ll match prices for contact lenses from Costco or anywhere else that’s cheaper. I bought a box of O2-Optix for $ 18 something. I wanted to buy only 1 box to try them out and make sure that they’re what I really want. So, $ 18 is pretty cheap if you’re not buying from online sites because if you’re buying a box from online sites, the price can be around $ 25 due to the shipping cost.
