Just had some chowder, king crab, and Genova French bread. Chowder was bland, 4⁄10 Crab was okay, but fishy, 6⁄10 French bread was very obviously yesterday’s batch How do you serve your customers day old bread? If that’s all you got, at least admit it and apologize so I can stop somewhere else for it

Really friendly owners :) my husband had the tri-tip sandwich and he LOVED it. He kept saying something about the way the beef is cut is perfect… I’m not a beef sandwich lover, but I adored the way the bay shrimp sandwich tasted :) we are very sad that we couldn’t try the clam chowder(they’ve ran out) but we got in around 130pm they start lunch at 1100am, so it’s absolutely understandable. Last thing: it’s not a «fancy» expensive pretentious restaurant but it is a nice place to have some really good food for a reasonable price. ^_^ can’t wait to come back to try the clam chowder.

I have had everything on the menu, and was not disappointed. Great place to order and pick up, or just eat inside in the small dining area. They are also do good catering for crab feeds.

3 Stars… A-ok is the best I can give this small diner. Food was ok, nothing outstanding. I had clam chowder: Amount of clams and consistency was ok. Missing flavor. Had to add salt. I would have tried their tri-tip sandwich. but they were out. They were out of all beef products. To be fair, I arrived about 1:25 pm and they close at 2 pm. I settled for the shrimp sandwich. They did not have enough shrimp prepared for a sandwich so they had to ‘defrost’ more. The shrimp mix was served on a soft french roll. The shrimp tasted fresh… the roll also was fresh. But again, not a lot of character to the sandwich. Just a shrimp sandwich. For sides… my choices were potato salad(partially house-made) and chili. Opps, out of chili. So I chose a double portion of the potato salad. Potato salad not good. No distinct flavor… potatoes not the right texture. I might go back to try the tri-tip sandwich. The nice lady said to call ahead to make sure they still have enough to make a sandwich… or she would hold enough for me. That was nice of her. It’s all about individual tastes. If you have not tried this place, it would probably be worth your while to do try it. Note: The ‘dining area is VERY small. They also offer ‘to go’. This is more of a commercial operation that caters and supplies crab for crab feeds. They also sell seafood retail, pickup or delivery. If your organization wants to earn thousands of dollars in one evening, contact them to help you organize a crab feed! Here are their hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 11:00am — 2:00 pm Friday: 11:00am — 6:00pm Saturday: 10:00am — 2:00 pm Closed Sundays and Mondays

The marinated crab is off the hook! The tri-tip sandwiches are awesome! The bay shrimp sandwich is my go to lunch item and the rib-eye steak sandwiches are insane! You gotta come here for lunch. A lot people don’t know they serve lunch here. All I have say is YUM! All of the crab feeds I’ve been to that they catered have been amazing! Their crab is the best around!

Just attended a crab feed where Seafood Express provided the crab. Oh man. What crab! Just decadent. Don’t know what seasoning they use on it – garlic, herbs, lemon… I know I’m missing something else. It was amazing. Now I know what those Romans were on to with their vomitoriums. I live in Sacramento, but I dutifully drive to Stockton every year just so that I can partake in the crab feed at the local Buddhist church. Service was fantastic, very attentive and always coming by to refill on claws and bodies if it got down to just the spindly legs. Next time I’m in Stockton(and not here for the crab feed), I will have to check out the actual restaurant.

I have now been here three times and had the same thing all three times. Why change what works? My regular choice is the Tri-Tip sandwich and a small clam chowder. I have to preface by saying I am a soggy bread hater. The Tri-Tip sandwich gets a bit soggy by the time you get where you are going but who cares! The flavor of the meat and the great bread makes up for a little sogginess. The clam chowder is the best in town. The clams are never chewy, the broth is not too thick or too thin, the potatoes are perfectly cooked. I will continue to come here on a regular basis. The food is great and the price is right.

The clam chowder is good if they have the bread bowls… I have had it 2 times when it tasted a bit burnt but the other 800 times I have had it it was awesome! Its well off the path and they dont have any dine in seating but if your gonna take it to go or have them do an event then its well worth it!

Hard to find but worth the search for sure. I have been eating here for the past 4 years or so since a friend I mine took me to lunch there one day. Love the rib eye steak sandwiches, and the clam chowder is delicious. I have chatted with the owner a few times over the years, I love the fact it is family owned and operated. I have always had great food and service to match. If you ever looking for something different on the East side, give this place a try.

Talk about being in the boondocks!!! But heading to this hidden seafood haven is well worth the trip… Upon entering seafood express you may think you are in the wrong place, as the front is an office for their catering, which is their real bread and butter… However if you keep heading back you will reach a large warehouse room where you would think the Mafia hides dead bodies… but instead you will see a seafood counter full of dead crabs and shrimp… Head up to the counter take a gander at the menu and get ready to be awed by some of their specialties… I’ve tried both the Tri-Tip and Bay Shrimp sandwhich. Both are very good and generously prepared with their respective ingredients. The clam chowder is also very very good. Not too thick and not to watery… and has a perfect hint of clam and potato taste… there is only one small room that is set up with a picnic table if you chose to dine there, but it’s usually best to place orders to go… I have also had the pleasure of attending a crab feed catered by Seafood Express this past year… the marinade for the crab was awesome and everyone at my table was extremely pleased with their feast… I consider myself a crabfeed loving whore and this was by far the best one I’ve eaten at. Since that day I have no doubt that Seafood Express is a must try for locals and out of towners as well…

I stopped here after Unilocaling while on a biz trip to Stockton. When I ordered the tri-tip and clam chowder I was told these were the most popular items on the menu. The chowder was warm, creamy and delicious. The potatoes and clams were not overcooked and gave the soup an outstanding texture. The tri-tip was juicy and STUFFED with perfectly cooked meat but I had to add salt to draw out some flavor. I also saw a tuna sandwhich prepeared that looked absolutely scrumptious. In hindsight I should have probably stuck to seafood given that it’s their specialty. As a market there was also a variety of rubs, marinades and freshly frozen seafood right in the store. Solid lunch spot.

OMG the place is the shit… I mean it it is shit… after attending another function where Seafool Express catered the event. I was disappointed when being ignored when I asked for tongs to pick up food from a serving tray and not of course receiving them. I don’t know many businesses stupid enough except for Stockton Waterloo Gun and Bocci Club to serve food in which a large group of unfamiliar people have to pick their food by their lip smacked hands. In other words when you eat crab and lick your fingers you share that with everyone else when you pick up new crab. 10 percent of the healthy people around you have a harmful bacteria living on the skin. Many healthy people carry bacteria and viruses in their lungs. Should we continue to share food without making an effort to clean our hands every 3 or 4 minutes. If the SE only would make an effort to clean up their act they could actually be a great source of catered seafood products. I will see about changing vendors for the next year’s church function.

As a market, I was a little disappointed that everything was ‘fresh-frozen’ — an oxymoron to every chef I know. Aside from this, it’s a great market. Customer service is great, people are friendly and the prices are fair. Just know you won’t likely get anything thats actually fresh.
