We visited this place yesterday and they definitely gained repeat customers. The five stars is for overall rating for: cleanliness, food taste and accommodation. It’s not the traditional way of presenting Filipino food(especially the salad lol) but who cares if the food is yummy and cooked right. AND, when the picky better-half says«I like this place», then it means baraboomboom!!! Time to eat baby!!! The better-half tried the porkchop and was not disappointed. I ordered the Papa Breakfast(sausage langonisa, pork tocino, egg over-easy with rice) and dinuguaan, and just like Mikey said«try it and you’ll like it», I sure did. We will definitely go back and try some of the other stuff. Until then, try it once and do what«Mikey» says, you might like it as well… Bön Appetit

Man, I love the non traditional style Filipino food. The deep rooted cultural dishes are too hardcore for me, doesn’t mean it’s not good, I just can’t hang. Modern twist is more… Yum!

What a great find. Visiting University if the Pacific with our son. Hungry and needed a bite. This was just the ticket. Curry wings, pork belly, sisig all were amazing. Great food Great value. If he picks this school it will be our go to spot when visiting.

Buffet Man Sez: I’m convinced that tocino pork qualifies as food porn… Kinda like Mitsu-Ken garlic chicken( Unilocal that one, peeps). A big bite of perfect tocino, rice and egg gives you«da involuntary shiver spasm» in a very good way ;-p Seriously, their Papa’s Breakfast with tocino and sweet sausage over rice with an egg on top and shredded green salad on the side is «supah ono,» man!!! Throw in a side order of the sisig fries and you be needing to lie down and smoke a cig with a stupid grin on your face(not literally, but you get the drift…). The only things missing for me is the garlic fried rice and mac salad(Hawaii local boy ‘ass why) to achieve perfection.

I have been here about 5 or 6 times already! Let me tell you about it: Location/Environment: This restaurant is located in the downtown area, right next to Stockton Collegiate. This can be a bit of a problem if you’re trying to grab a bite around 2 or 3 because a hoard of parents are trying to pick up their children in a very small space. Parking is already scarce so I usually have to park on one of the other streets nearby or use the garage behind this place. Bring coins or some cash because you have to pay for parking during the weekday. I would recommend coming here for dinner to avoid all aforementioned problems! The décor style is modern with an urban flair. There are pictures of Filipino history and culture which is really cool! I like that this business is involved in our community! Prices: This is one of the most affordable places in town to eat at. The prices range from 3 – 8 dollars depending on what you get. Service: Every time I’ve been here, I am greeted with a smile. :) The employees are helpful and patient. You order up front and they bring the food out to you. The wait is standard, I wouldn’t say they are really fast but not too long either. And now for the Food! : I have to put a disclaimer out there. I love their Sisig fries!!! I get them almost every time I am here! I cannot resist their urb sauce either, it has changed my life! Other delicious things I have tried and would recommend: Sisig empanadas, Turron, Mango juice, Adobo quesadillas, Sisig plate. Side note: I have noticed that the quality is not as great when you order to go. The food is way better when you eat in, which is weird? They need to be more consistent because this place was A+ when it first opened! Anyway, this place is awesome and I will continue to feed my addiction for Sisig and Urb sauce here!

Most amazing Sisig fries I have ever had! The lechon kawali was pretty good along with the caldereta but the star of the show here is definitely the sisig. I also ordered the turron which was ok but not traditional due to the chocolate sauce vice brown sugar. Awsome place to eat!

This is not your Mama’s Filipino food, but in a good way. I’ve been following Papa Urb’s on social media and was so excited to finally try them. My friend and I met for dinner and asked the staff for their faves. They suggested the sisig fries and their silogs. We both got the Papa’s breakfast which has longaniza and tocino along with garlic rice and fried egg. I also ordered the calamansi juice with my meal. This is not a full service restaurant in that you order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. But you would never think that with how attentive the staff was. It was late in the evening and there were not too many customers besides us. The cashier/order taker, came by our table often to see how we were doing. When we asked for to go boxes, she brought out extra sauces since we commented on how much we LOVED the green garlic sauce that was served with the sisig fries. Even when we were the last two customers and they were getting ready to close, I didn’t feel like they were trying to get rid of us. The food was tasty and were made with quality ingredients. The sisig was cooked perfectly. I’ve had sisig that had burned or overcooked meat, but this was not the case with Papa Urb’s sisig. They served the sisig on top of fries with the most addicting green garlic sauce. I could have done shots of that sauce all by itself. The tocino and longanisa were scrumptious. I really appreciated that they cut the meats so that it can be easily eaten with plastic utensils. I have lost a few longanisas when I tried to cut into them with plastic ware and they flew off my plate. All in all, a very positive restaurant experience. My only qualm is that the area is a little sketchy. I’m glad my friend and I parked close to each other. I don’t think I would come here at night alone.

The Kaldereta was tasty, the meat cooked to just the right texture with the perfect amount of fat and potatoes, green olives just the right amount of saltiness to mix with the egg and rice. Rice had the right stickiness to stay on my fork as I went in to mix with the other foods! My family said theirs was delicious too! We will plan to be back for the Kare Kare the oxtail dish next week! The employees are very helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable.

It was very clean and gave an industrial type feel. I walked in and was surprised there were no customers in sight. The lunch rush was most likely over, but again I am used to the one in Tracy. No matter what time it is you usually cannot find a seat. I was greeted kindly, I ordered sisig fries, no kare kare(damnit), sinigang and a B steak bowl. I don’t know if it’s this location but it definitely lacked in the meat department. The B steak bowl had about 5 tiny pieces of beef(my 4 year old would have been starving after this and he doesn’t eat much). The sinigang as well had barely any beef, however the broth and the freshness of the veggies were on point. My 3 dishes and a calamansi drink came to a total of over $ 27 dollars mind you one was an appetizer. A bit steep if you ask me. I think this place is a work in progress and the Tracy location has better servings of beef. All in all not bad, but can use improvements if they want to stay open long term.

Ordered the sisig fries, lechon kawali and papa’s breakfast and they were all good. Really tasty. I can do without the salad. Bit of a good twist to the usual filipino food.

Savoring the taste of nostalgia while listening to a live session of a YouTube classic, «Lemonade», sang by one of my favorite artists(Jeremy Passion, I’ll forever be your fangirl *ahem* .fanboy) — the night can’t get any better. Never mind that I just rear-ended a poor little old lady beforehand. She’s okay, her car’s just fine, the money I’m forking out for repairs on my end, not to mention my insurance definitely going up next period… ehh who cares?! I do, actually :/.but check out what I ate! ADOBOQUESADILLA — adobe chicken inside grilled tortillas, filled with cheese, onions, tomatoes. So tender and juicy and filling. SISIGFRIES — french fries, yam slices topped with sisig, drizzled with a tangy aioli sauce. So flavorful and crispy and finger-licking good. Maybe because the food transported me back to my childhood and carefree times. Maybe because Passion’s voice serenaded my blues away. Maybe because I have OCD(Obsessive Christmas Disorder). For some reason, my spirits were still high and I loved the food, loved the company, loved the music. All because Papa Urb made it all happen.

Took us a while to visit the new location, but we finally had the chance to come yesterday… motivated by a little Passion concert of course! My boyfriend surprised me with tickets to see Passion perform at Papa Urb’s so we had to head over early and grab food before the show! I went with the sisig fries… now I want some more… Even though I’ve already had them when I went to the old location, I just had to get them again. Ask for extra sauce on the side too! My boyfriend chose the adobo quesadilla and that was pretty good too — really stuffed with lots of ingredients. Both appetizers were well-worth the price and definitely filled us up. I also ordered a calamansi juice and the whole order was just $ 15. The sisig fries alone are delicious and worth the 35 – 40 minute drive if you plan on doing stuff in the area, but I’m not sure how much there is to do in Stockton. Carpool with a whole group and head over there for dinner(there’s way more seating than the original location) and make it a party!

More like 3.5 stars, but I rounded up because they deserve more than 3 stars.( Unilocal, can you please add an option for half stars?!) My boyfriend has been raving about Papa Urb’s for the longest time, and FINALLY I was able to try it the other day. This location is their second location, and it is located in downtown Stockton. Have no fear because the police station is right around the corner lol. The décor is very modern and contemporary, and the restaurant is very spacious. This is one of those places where you order at the counter and seat yourselves. We ordered: 1. Sisig Fries($ 6): This was pretty good, despite the fact that the ratio of fries to pork was way off; and I tasted a burnt flavor on some of the meat. 2. Sisig Tacos($ 5.50): This came with two tacos that was mostly made up of the cabbage slaw. Once again, the ratio was off, but it had good flavor nonetheless. For both the tacos and fries, I would suggest ordering more of their special sauce($ 0.50) to better coat the dishes. 3. Watermelon & mint iced drink($ 3): This was very refreshing and light. I definitely recommend this drink! 4. Lychee & coconut slushie($ 3): This was also very light and refreshing. It had bits of lychee in it, along with a sugar cane. I would recommend this also, but I prefer the watermelon & mint. The customer service was excellent, and the employees definitely knew how to keep the restaurant clean. I will most likely return if I’m ever in the area to try other items.

I love that this place is so modern and the service is super quick. My bf and I were really craving sisig and this hit the spot. Exactly what we were craving. The portion was perfect for my hungry bf and overly filling for me(I have the appetite of a kitten lately though). I’ve been to the Tracy location for the sisig fries(which I didn’t like bc there was too much fries for my sisig) but taste wise and price wise was great. The halo halo was almost perfect but I did not like the rice balls that were in there. My bf tried to explain that it was traditional to have them there but I just felt like towards the end, that was ALL I was eating.

Whenever I’m back home in Stockton, my family and I ALWAYS eat here. The food is affordable, fast, fresh, and freakin’ delicious. You can’t go wrong. This location is situated in Downtown Stockton, right next to what will soon be America’s first Filipino American museum! Heeyyyy!(Bring coins for parking if you’re here after 6pm) The décor inside, just like their Tracy location, embraces and celebrates the strong Pilipina/o history of the Central Valley, especially in Stockton. I mean, c’mon, a Filipino restaurant that makes amazing food AND promotes the Pilipina/o history of the city its in… that’s a WIN-WIN for me. The service has always been excellent, the place always clean, and my belly always full. Like I said, you can’t go wrong here. Go now, just do it.

I actually had been scoping out Papa Urbs before they even opened up this location in Stockton and I was thrilled to when I found out they opened right downtown. Katie and I went in to pick up lunch for the office and we were all excited to try it. I ended up getting the pork belly and it was great. I loved the flavor and the portion was perfect. I also got the lumpia, which was good but it ended up being way too much food and the friend foods aren’t that great reheated. The restaurant was roomy and I could definitely see this becoming a hot spot for business lunches. I cannot wait to try more off the menu.

Papa Urb’s Grill on E Weber Ave in Stockton, California. Unilocal Challenge 78⁄100. So thanks to the home girl Dia D for letting me know about this joint. Mad love to you girl. I came in today with my Mom, I was taking her out for a late lunch. We looked at the menu outside and she wasn’t really feeling it. I told her«let’s try it out». So we walked in and was checking out the menu. We ordered the Sisig fries $ 6, $ 6 Adobo Quesadilla, Sisig tacos $ 5.50 and Beef Lumpia $ 5.50. Oh and I had a fountain drink with free refills and Mama just wanted water. The service was top Notch from the front counter girl Kaylene to the server Gem. The place is pretty nice inside. Very comfortable and spacious. This place fills up pretty quickly. Parking can be a pain, but there is a parking garage behind this joint. The food is really good, I kept hearing my mom telling me it’s so very good. I just enjoyed her talking to workers and the people around us. The Lumpia’s are really good, I love the little dip that comes with it. The Adobo Quesadilla, damn g. It’s off the hook my Ninjas. Straight legit. The Sisig tacos, my mama loved them. The Sisig Fries, I really liked them. We ended up sharing them. Because I got too full, killing the quesadilla and most of the Lumpia. Hey, I was hungry. Well my experience today was a homerun. The great company I was with. The awesome customer service and the fantastic good food. So yeah, I’ll be back to bring the kids. Because once they find out, I ate on the low low. They’ll be tripping off a Nikka. Vincent D aka VD aka Vebola aka Vincent Vega. Always, Enjoying the simple things in life. .
