We had dinner reservations for 6:15pm on a Saturday night, party of five. It was a mixed crowd from casual(nice jeans and t-shirt) to dressy casual(sports coat with jeans). The ambiance is nice & Date night worthy. FOOD: We ordered: seafood linguini, eggplant Parmesan, ravioli, halibut, and the current special — asparagus pasta. All very nice dishes. Mild palate, there was nothing spicy. I would return for a special dinner, when in Stockton. However, if your willing to drive into the Bay Area… there are much more tastier options in that price range.($ 20-$ 45) Must try: Salty Nut cocktail. It was a hit with the ladies.(Ingredients: Rumchata, butterscotch schnapps, etc)

At least my 5th meal here in the last 5 months and once again it was excellent. Tonight was the NY steak with roasted fingerling potatoes and arugula salad. Almost had the special pasta but was in the mood for steak. Other visits I had the Bolognese, pappardelle, chicken, and gnocchi(all different dishes). Service is personable and attentive. Small and tucked away in a business park but worth the drive.

Had a very good meal here tonight, but they didn’t serve what was listed on the menu. I ordered chicken breasts with sweet potato gnocchi and pork belly, but got chicken leg with rather heavy regular potato gnocchi and pancetta. Flavor good, but not what was on the menu, not what i wanted, and the waiter didn’t inform me that there were changes. My wife had the Pappardel pasta with chicken and pancetta(exact same meat that was on my plate that was called porkbelly on the menu) and it was excellent. Good meal, none the less.

I believe Restaurant week is for the purpose of showcasing your Restaurant. Right? Tonite is a big disappointment. This was a major business dinner with my high profile clients. Embarrassing to say the least. Two main issues, 1) in at 6:30 slow kitchen. By 7:50 only 6 of the 7 of us were served the entrée. The last dinner came out when everyone else was done, and insult to injury the dish was literally slapped on the plate missing the piccata sauce on the meat. Reply when asked was oh thought we would serve you now and give you the sauce on the side. Who ever heard of that? At this point we were the only remaining diners there, 2) when we ordered they were already out of 1 of 2 dinner choices. We ordered the only choice available. But Long after we ordered we were told they were out of that as well. Poor waitress making up excuses to cover up the blatant mismanagement in the kitchen. No Manager on duty. $ 220.00 later and I can say I will not be back. Nor will I recommend this restaurant to anyone. Overall thumbs down. Not worthy of any star.

This is the best restaurant my wife and I have been to in Stockton(peer comparisons: Centrale and Papapavlo’s, which we like fine, too, but they’re not up to Mezzo’s level). It could survive in the Berkeley/Oakland market where we used to live. I particularly like the mussels appetizer — highly recommended as long as you don’t mind a pretty salty dish(which I think is appropriate for this recipe).

By far one of the best restaurants in Stockton, the food is always good, drinks aren’t cheap but well made. Make sure to book your reservations since it is a smaller more intimate atmosphere.

Had a delicious random dinner here. Just finished working out at a near by gym and decided wanted something yummy and healthy and a friend suggested this place. Yes, I rolled in my gym clothes and felt underdressed but felt welcomed. Staff was amazing, even though walked in 10 mins before 9, they served us! The mezzo mezzo was great little of everything! Dolams capture the Arab style dolmas well! Then our new found friends at the bar recommended lamb burger, ordered that and it was amazing! The fries and side of kale salad were also on point. Compliments to the chef, Buddy who came out and chatted with us, to the bar tender, and entire staff! Love this local place and will be back!

Had a a delicious dinner tonight. My husband and I enjoyed the Mezza Mezzo(?) app, and shared a lamb burger. The food was great. I have zero complaints about it. It was flavorful and delicious. Kudos on that! The restaurant was clean and tasteful with a lovely patio. Now for the rough part: what I didn’t like. One thing: the hostess. We requested to be seated outside. She did seat us. Relatively quickly. She then promptly neglected to tell the server that we were his table. We sat and sat and sat, for 15 minutes before we were even greeted by a server. This being said, I saw where the ball was dropped. Our server Jeff finally made it to the table immediately after I witnessed him being told he had a table. He was perturbed, but handled the service stellarly. I absolutely recommend Mezzo. Thanks again Jeff!

The food was not good at all. I order the seafood linguine and the pasta was over cooked and not enough flavor and sauce kind of dry for the price. On a good note sangria was good

This restaurant is absolutely WONDERFUL! For the past five years they have been open, I have experienced nothing but perfect service, and amazing food. It is evident that lead chef Buddy O’ Dell works with local farmers to prepare the finest local ingredients in all the astounding dishes. The service is fast, and the servers are young, kind, and relate to their costumers. The price for these dishes where right. The ambiance is amazing and very family friendly. Their menu’s offer a wide variety of items for kids and adults. The homemade pastas are delicious and the deserts are great. Everything else is pretty much perfect and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Mezzo deserves more than just 5 stars but that was the highest I could go. I recommend it to you and everyone, amazing, just amazing!

Mezzo is a nice quaint restaurant in a good part of town. The food is good, I like that they change up the menu often. On Tuesdays they have a weekly menu with small plates or TAPAS, usually pretty good bites. The service is very professional and nice but due to the kitchen a bit slow and the bar staff is rude less than professional. I would give this restaurant a 4 star and not a 3 if it wasn’t for the constant unprofessionalism and rudeness from the bar.

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm without reservations and got seated as soon as we walked in. However, when we left about an hour later the place was packed, and I’m sure at that point reservations were needed. I had the risotto with peas and shrimp. The portion was larger than it looked. It was a little bland as an entrée but with a meat or in my case shrimp it was very good. It was cooked just right and real risotto unlike Stockton Joes use to serve. It is a little pricey but worth it. Our ticket for two and no drinks(just water) was $ 63.00 without tip. It is little hard to find so don’t give up.

I bet the food taste great, unfortunately, the hours of operation are off, I.e. in three attempts to eat there and it has been closed each time.

Wow. What a difference a great chef makes. I had given up on Mezzo since it was so hit and miss, but with Buddy at the helm, the food is excellent and consistent. From appetizers, entrees, specials to desserts everything is spot on. Even the tapenade style dipping sauce for the bread is fabulous… olive oil, Kalamata olives and anchovies. Finally a chef who isn’t afraid to use anchovies! The wild mushroom pasta is «to die for» as is the seafood linguini. The swordfish special tonight was cooked to perfection and the Friday special clam chowder was definitely house made and yummy. I love the fact that Buddy comes to each table to sincerely assess each each customers satisfaction. Mezzo has finally gotten it right!

Visited for lunch on a Friday. Food was mediocre, expensive. I had the Caesar, very typical, charged extra $ 6 for a couple slices of dry, bland chicken breast. My husband had the special, a prime rib sand. Lots of bread, very little meat, not much flavor. We both had the clam chowder, nothing special there either. Wait staff was friendly & prompt, but it took a long time to be served because they were working on a big to-go order. Meh.

I live down the street and never crossed my mind to pop in. Told by a friend to try it out and yes I am very excited to have started coming here. Food was great had the rigatoni and short rib sandwich(split between my friend) very filling and very tasty. Service was fantastic quick to seat quick to serve and quick to come back and check up on us. Nice atmosphere and good vibes inside, felt fine wearing some shorts and shirt fitted in well with people wearing suits and dresses. Will be coming by more often to try other dishes!

First time going here with my husband.(glad we left the kids at home) Ambiance was spot on, classy, older distinguish crowd, kind of resemble and after work spot to go to for a drink to unwind with a co-worker, People dressing in dressy casual attire. Staff friendly, food was delivered quickly. unlimited french bread and olive oil ordered= appetizer-brusschetta I ordered– 12hour short beef ribs husband ordered– swordfish special. All the food was tasty and filling, kind of pricey, both our dinners together came to $ 59.54(not including tip) we only had water to drink too. all in all the food and ambiance well worth the price, but not a spot to go to everyday, because you might end up in the livin the vida broka. fyi, if you check in on Unilocal, restaurant offers 50% off appetizer(score) happy eating

Came by for Stockton restaurant week with a friend. I was impressed, she was less than impressed. Together we average four stars! + Olive oil with olive tapenade! I got myself full off of this stuff. I loved it! I might seriously come back just for this. However, this is free so I’ll have to order a dish or two. + Seafood Fra Diavolo. I liked it, friend didn’t. + Atmosphere. Very sophisticated! I felt like I needed to sit up taller and cross my legs. — Seating. Place is small. — Running out of tiramisu. For cereal? And we were so excited. –1 star. — Price. You’re paying for the atmosphere, the dim lights, and the hip crowd. The restaurant is small, the dish names are super bizarre for those of us who don’t speak… Greek? Italian? and I can see how people have a lot to complain about. I for one, however, am impressed! I’ll be back!
