Went to Bradleys today. Had their special — Fish and Chips. The fish was overcooked(possibly double fried?). The fish was rubbery, and lacked flavor. The breading was overly hard– there was not the light airyness you’d expect from quality fish and chips. Fries were standard restaurant frozen fries. The cole slaw seemed like it hadn’t been given enough time for the flavors to meld. Also got the veggie panini which was supposed to be made with foccacia bread. The bread was flat, hard, and chewy… could not distiquish as foccacia… would’ve guessed pita shell. The veggies seemed like they were pre-carmelized…and overdone. It made me wonder if the panini press had variable height control for the sandwiches because this was overly flat. The impression it left me with was that it was a veggie sandwich made by someone that didn’t like veggie sandwiches. There also was not very many veggies in the sandwich. The Ceasar salad was tasty. Nothing that stands out here in the restaurant that would make me want to come back.

We went here after a Ports game one afternoon. Big Ups to this place for carrying Bud. apparently, most places in Stockton don’t due to some problem with the distributor or some shit. Also, they were watching my beloved alter-ego on TV, Archie Bunker. I imagine the hipsters and douchebags trickle in at night. You def want the daytime experience.

Been here a couple of times. They got some great strong drinks for those that don’t want to spend to much money. Its always kind of dead but if you get some drinks and walk across to the movie theater it will make your movie experience so much better.

Went here for a friend’s birthday after dinner at Misaki. There was an outside patio where you can sit and smoke or have a drink. There’s also someone at the door to check your ID if you’re 21 and over so don’t think that no one checks it because there is. They have some good drinks and I don’t remember the drink that my friend got me but it was pretty good. They had a DJ playing some music but I’m not sure if that’s every night or certain nights. They also had a pool table in case you want to play some pool. You don’t have to worry about parking because there is a parking garage if you’re in downtown Stockton going to the movies or have dinner there. I would say this bar is probably better than Basils but I could be wrong since everyone has different opinions.

Pretty good drinks here… they use Three Olives vodka for their specialty drinks which can be pretty tasty but are still pretty affordable($ 6). I’ve always rolled thru on slow nights but I’d be curious to see how it is on a night when it’s crackin.

Ugh, skip the food. Entirely. We got weird flavorless pizza bread with cold, raw mushrooms and cold jalapeños on top… either they forgot them or they’re idiots for not putting the veggies in the cheese. My friend had a burger… premade patty, a bit rubbery, cold bun. The fries were warm-ish and badly in need of seasoning. They were also the highlight, foodwise. Their bloodies, however, were fine altho I did order them with yellow mustard added, so the credit for that goes partially to me. This place is just perfs for drinks before catching a show but for anything else… don’t bother.

Still one of the best bang for your buck bars in Stockton. You can count on Bradley’s to make one of the filthiest«adiós» in town, as well as blare endless 80’s songs for the majority of the night. The crowd seems to shift on a whim, as on any given night you could be next to a white shirt thug, multiple pierced wonder, or even a special-ed school teacher(true story). Come for a quick drink before the movies, or just to catch up with friends and shoot the breeze. If you’re from Stockton, without a doubt you will run into someone you know from somewhere, so expect to have lively conversation to say the least. Pro-Tip: Although tempting… avoid making a late night Cancun run after leaving Bradley’s. Your stomach and breath will thank you in the morning

So when the Bull and Bear closed down, I felt displaced almost homeless… Where was I going to go for good drinks, chill crowd and no douche bag tool academy kinda folks… Well, Bradleys became the answer to that question… Bradleys is a very chill spot with a good mix of music, pool, drinks, and conveinant downtown location… For those of you worried about a ghetto crowd, don’t fear… The bouncers at Bradley don’t play and will choke slam you in a second if you start that gangbang bull sh*t in there… Ive always had a good time hanging with my buddies here and just catching a drink after a movie or something… There is no cover charge to boot… Thanks for the good times Bradleys!!!

I work downtown and try to eat here at least once a month for lunch. The food is consistently good, but then again, I typically order the same couple items: the turkey panini and cobb salad. Food: This is one of three place I can get a decent salad. The salads here are generally huge, and very filling. But, my favorites are the panini and wedge fries. I get the turkey with battered wedge fries, which are both great. Atmosphere: needs to be updated, as it’s all painted early 2000’s burgundy with 1990’s black tables/chairs, and then there’s sports memorabilia on the walls. The tiny outdoor patio could use some sprucing up too, as it’s sort of dungeon-like with no plants, and the tables/chairs are old and wobbly. People tend to come outside to smoke on the patio while you’re eating, and that sucks big time because it’s so small. But then again, this place is a bar by night, and it smells like a bar, so they need to decide what they want to be more when they grow up. Lunch service: sometimes slow. The same one server has worked here since I can remember. She’s nice and attentive, however, she’s one person! When it’s busy on Fridays, service and the kitchen can be VERY slow. Other times, we get in & out within 45 minutes. It’s hit or miss.

Tried to eat dinner here on Sunday night. Closed. No sign posting hours. Street deserted. Went somewhere else. On our way back by after dinner, we see it is open. Bartender is sitting outside with two other people. «What time do you open on Sunday?» we ask. «5:30 or 6ish, I guess» is the reply. «Would you like a menu?» We stayed for a beer. Prices reasonable, but unreliable hours, without signage or a website to tell you when they are open.

For those that thought this was a good replacement for Bull ‘N Bear… well it was. We’ve all gone our separate ways and those times were the past. Either we’re all too old to call a bar a second home, or our first homes have become a larger priority. Bradley’s really is two places. It’s a restaurant in the day, and a bar /night club at night. As far as the restaurant is concerned, it’s great. Central location in downtown is awesome. Right next to a parking lot, across the street from the theater, and a trolley will pick you up at the front door to take you to the arena or ball park during a game. No complaints about the food either. It’s fresh, prepared quickly and with careful presentation. You honestly don’t expect your plate to be presented as well as it is, with a taste to match. I actually love eating here. The best plan ever before a game is to eat here, have a couple drinks, and let the trolley pick you up. Eat here before your movie and walk over. I think the menu here is good enough to go through and offer suggested wine pairings. But then… you can also order fish ‘n chips. The bar is hit or miss. Don’t judge the evening until about 11:00 though. It can be pretty dead in there until then. Sometimes it does feel a bit ‘ghetto’ in there, sometimes it’s just ‘raw’. Never would I call it ‘high-class’. You’re in the wrong neighborhood for that. If you smoke, there is a nice patio for that. It can get pretty crowded and INCREDIBLY loud. Be prepared for panhandlers to come up and ask you for a cigarette… or a dollar. The staff is on top of things. Trouble-makers get kicked out, people are served in order. Drinks are strong… and if you see me playing pool there, don’t think you can win. But I welcome the attempt. ;) I still go back, and will be back… I just don’t close down bars anymore. I’m sure though, a younger group of regulars have taken over and call this bar home. Some of them probably have never even been to Bull ‘N Bear. No doubt they are as diverse a group as we all were, which is what makes Stockton interesting. Give it another decade, and a new group will take the reigns… and new owners I’m sure.

My home bar… day or nite this place is A ok in my book. Sugar free Redbulls, Agwa Liquor, Decent vodka and beer selection. Very chill help that do their best to serve. Gosh, I remember when this place was Lambert’s! Thank god there is still a bar downtown where people can let their hair down. Ask Brad to make you a mojito… yeah right!

Good location because parking is pretty plenty. Always pretty crowded which can be a good and bad thing for some people. The drinks are strong and at an okay price. The only thing I’m not a fan of is their really bad music. They have this«no hip hop» policy, from what I’ve heard from regulars… which leaves me with music I can’t dare dance to.

Not a bad choice for Thursday nights. Drink prices fluctuate but are still pretty cheap and it’s nice if you don’t feel like dancing.

Cheap drinks, no cover, and great mixed crowd. People are usually hesitant to go to this joint because it is downtown. Well luckily ghetto people don’t like 80’s music because that is all they play. I have never had a problem at this bar. I like to go hear when all other out of area plans fail… small dance floor, tons of seating and tables, outside smoking patio and pool table, Free parking garage next door. one of the better bars in Stockton… I dunno about it’s lunch service tho… I am not a huge fan of eating bar food anyhow…

Bradley’s makes good food(anything but chips are pretty tasty here.) Unfortunately, I’m boycotting their lunch services because they just can’t do lunch right. Bradley’s has a huge panini selection, but apparently only two panini chefs who could not multitask. I think all of their paninis taste wonderful, and would love to eat them weekly. However, I don’t think they are very good at lunch services, and that’s normally when I’m seeking food in this area. Last time I went there, we called in the order at 11:00 a.m., telling them we’ll be there at 12:10 p.m., please get our food ready. We arrived at 12:10 p.m., but waited until 12:30 p.m. with not even water on the table. 12:30 p.m. the lone waitress came out to give us water and apologize for the delay in getting our food ready. She then told me, they don’t have a key ingredient on my panini.(Could they not have checked at 11:00 a.m. when I ordered?) I said, not a problem. I love all your paninis and will be happy with any other replacement. She suggested a chicken panini and promised they have the ingredients for that particular panini. 12:45 p.m., my co-workers were finally getting their food. She came out, and told me, sorry, we don’t have chicken either. … I was still patient at this point, and asked her, «What do you have? I’ll take anything.» She said she’s sure they have ahi-tuna. Fine. I switched my order to ahi-tuna. 12:55 p.m., I informed them I really need to get back to work soon and would love to at least see my food sometime before 1:00 p.m. My panini was apparently then done, and brought out to me. I bit into it. Cold. Hungry and wanting to give them to benefit of doubt, I turned the panini around and bit into the other end. Raw. … Yeah, that about summed up my awesome Bradley’s service experience. I left and am now boycotting their lunch service. I have faith in their sandwiches though. When I’m in the area for dinner I might give it a try again.

FYI: If you’ve been on America’s Most Wanted recently… I would not suggest having Lunch at Bradley’s. 99.9% of the patrons at Bradley’s at Lunch are Courthouse workers(just ½ block South) or are Law Enforcement dudes! There are badges on virtually every one of the customers… around their necks, hanging from their belts, pinned on their chests… Just makes me want to shout: «Badges? We don’t need no stinking badges!’» Enough ranting… Now for the food review… Today, er yesterday, was St Patrick’s Day. I HAVE to do Irish for sure. This«American Bistro» as written on their activities board by the entrance is more similar to an Irish Pub. Their specials on St Paddy’s Day, yesterday, was Cabbage with Corned Beef($ 7), Corned Beef Sandwich with Irish Stew($ 6), or Irish Stew with Soda Bread($ 4.50). The pricing is more than reasonable whether it be the daily specials or ordering off the faux leather bound menus at the tables. Ordered the Cabbage with Corned Beef — Entrée had very generous portions! Corned Beef was a little salty, and not enough Black Pepper… good enough for government work [:-) … pretty good, since I only have it once a year! Cabbage was a little undercooked. Guinness is Guinness– stout and heavy. My youngest son’s favorite beer. I’m not even a beer drinker… since it was St Patrick’s Day… What the heck! As with most drinking establishments… atmosphere is boisterous and LOUD, VERYLOUD! The bar maids are easy on the eyes, though. Demographics: SRO, 100% government workers @ 12pm. Judging by Emma L’s and elysium h’s reviews, it’s pretty obvious that the atmosphere and the clientele changes radically after 5pm… probably determined by the events at the Bob Hope Theatre and other venues around downtown Stockton. I would, daresay, the patrons of Bradley’s today would be very similar on other workdays at Lunchtime.
