I tried pork belly for the first time and it’s way different than it looks. The outside of it is very crunchy but the inside is very chewy with lots of flavor. I also ate pad Thai and it was really good if you’re a spice lover, im not so much of one but it was great!

First of, the food is pretty good. I would usually order the spring rolls along with a main entrée dish. But I swear, everytime I either pick up or dine in, their customer service is not on point. I do not remember the guys name, but a taller african american guy, it takes him a while to check up on us or ask if we would like another drink or anything else. And most of the time it is not that busy. He does not say thanks come again when most restaurants do when you leave. The owner(a lady) did not do the same and she was standing near the entrance. I only gave two stars because the food is good but not customer service. I’d rather have her husband working or the really nice bubbly asian lady working.

Been going since they opened. Just gets better and better. From the food to the staff, got to be the best in town. Food is great, place is clean and they are open late. Food is made to order, so if they are busy, you might wait a few extra minutes, but totally worth the wait. Food always comes out from the kitchen hot, right out of the wok. Top quality ingredients and you can taste the difference. Best spring rolls in town. Nice bar, great people and good atmosphere. Not sure it gets better than this.!!

They might have good service. But overpaying for just a pad thai and the food itself was so soggy, it was not worth it. The shrimp was overcooked and and did i mention i paid almost 15 for the pad thai, way too expensive for mediocre food. Never coning back

My girlfriend and I tried this place a few months back when we didn’t want to cook dinner. The 4 stars on Unilocal made us have high expectations and we were disappointed. We ordered takeout and got the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. The prices were on the high side and the food was less than stellar. The small serving size and the flavor profile of Pad Thai and Pad See Ew was a little off. It tasted different than Siamese Street and Royal Siam. We didn’t enjoy the meal at all so we will not be coming back here.

I have picked up food«to go» here at least twice. The place is clean. The atmosphere is friendly, warm and inviting. The professional courtesy of the staff there is very friendly and genuine as opposed to simply there just to take your money — which is important— because there will be an extraordinary rendition of your wallet, complete with a black bagging and a youtube video of the decapitation of your budget. To their credit, Thai Me Up is very careful to get my order correct as I do have some pretty specific food allergies. The vegetables were cooked to perfection. The chicken basil dumplings are divine and the drunk noodles kept us the most engaged. I definitely give them two thumbs up! Why don’t I give them 5 stars? I am used to some of the best Thai in Northern California and while this place ranks towards the top, there are still some inconsistencies in what I see as its«authenticity.» Think«fusion» with LESS of the more exotic spices —which is strange considering how much of my money they take. Of course this is just my subjective observation. The food is great, but for the amount that they charge and the size of the portions, I can actually eat out twice at the Royal Siam for the price of one night of «splurging» at Thai me up! So while I do suggest that you check out this place, I definitely suggest that you agree on a «safe word»(read as — «safe price») limit BEFORE you go as this place will definitely seduce/molest your pockets and leave you wanting more authenticity and bigger servings. If you are thinking about them whispering«sweet nothings» to you while you are in the throws of the experience, remember that dessert will be delicious as it is expensive and«petite.» We are talking Japanese electronics micro chip style that will leave you feeling suave and smooth as if you were the new James Bond receiving her majesty’s latest spy gadget. But if you are like me on a salary, you are more like inspector gadget than James Bond! Go Go Gadget credit card! The Solution? I simply go during those months where I feel committed to a «skinny bitch diet.» Sure I may find more lint in my pockets than change after a meal here, but in terms of the healthy quality of the food and the stellar character of the people, it feels worth it when I really want to treat myself. I highly recommend this place! Just make sure that you are prepared for fat camp/biggest loser mini size proportions, and come expecting that wallet of yours to get«Thai-ed up» and slapped around a bit! Apparently less is more! But its ok, you will still be smiling when its over so everyone wins. Oh baby, nobody does it like you… Note to management! Hey Thai Me Up, how about you take LESS of my money so I can eat here MORE often?! Signed, Bitter Fan who wants MORE of your food!

Everything’s just Ok here. I haven’t had anything here that stood out to me for the most part. Portions are just right & the venue has a nice vibe. Great service here all the times I’ve gone, different waiters each time, they’re very attentive & cool.

We ordered the tom yum soup and it was a total disappointment! It only has a few small shrimps and we could not find mushrooms or tomatoes that we often find in other tom yum soups. See my photo and avoid this item!

Small but nice little restaurant. Service was ok, the waiter was not very friendly. But he was keen on keeping the tables around us clean and our waters filled. They of was pretty good but not as good as other Thai places that I’ve been too like Siamese Street. The food was a little pricey for the quantity. The only dish that I would say was worth the price was there waterfall beef which was pretty good. I’m not too sure if I would go here again. I guess we will see.

Excellent food, and great service! Couldn’t ask for more. I will admit I was a bit hesitant walking in with my two kids(16 yr old and 7 yr old) because it had a whole«date night» vibe. The waiter assured me that families are welcome which made me feel more at ease.

Two stars. And only because of the excellent service from the wait staff.(Daniel I think the name was) Thai Tea… came out of an Arizona Green Tea jug. Just Arizona with some added spices. Yeah. Gross Chicken dumplings were fair… not much filling, lacking flavor, oily. Pork belly. Almost inedible. Okay, honestly it was terrible. Thick sliced, fried so long the edge was like reinforced steel, the fat later beneath cooked to long so the texture was chewy as opposed to melty. Not seasoned well. Bad. All bad. The dipping sauce that came with it was interesting. Liked that. Drunk noodles. Apt description. I think the chef was black out drunk when he made them. My meat was overcooked, the veggies all tasted slightly burnt. And the spice… I ordered spicy. I LIKE spicy. But this was just hot with no flavor. Uncomfortably hot, yet tasteless. I didn’t even finish it. Left it on the table with the unfinished pork belly. The other noodle dish(can’t recall the name) was not good either. The egg in it was overcooked and tasted like it had been fried in an unwashed pan that had fried every other egg throughout the entirety of human history. Meat was chewy. Ordered medium spicy on that one. Again, hot but flavorless. The crisp on the broccoli stalks was nice, but they needed just a bit more time to be prepared properly. $ 50 plus a $ 7 tip because I felt bad not leaving something for the guy that served us. He really was a good server. And I could have eaten the money and been more satisfied. Would not recommend.

My boyfriend and I were in the area during lunch time. We are not familiar with Stockton, so what else did I do? Of course, went on Unilocal! We’ve been trying to dine at different restaurants that we haven’t been to, expand our horizons. There was a crêpe place, that sounded good for breakfast, but it was about 11:30 and we were ready for lunch. It was a nice afternoon, so we took a stroll down the Miracle Mile area. This area seems like a strip of a downtown area, even though I know this is not their official downtown. It has a lot of cute shops within the stretch that we walked, I could see why people like coming to this area. We were crossing the street and had a choice between the Thai restaurant and deli sandwiches. I figured that we normally wouldn’t eat Thai, so I said«lets go there». There was a couple that were dining, other than that, the place was empty. There was one waiter that was working. He greeted us and sat us promptly. Their menu is two pages, one side is drinks and the other is food. While they offer a full bar, we were not drinking that afternoon. At first, I thought that it would be a challenge to figure out what I wanted to eat. The menu is split into: tapas(small plates), noodle dishes, rice dishes and I’m sure there was another category that I’m forgetting. My boyfriend got some sort of rice dish with a couple of different meats — he chose beef and chicken. The garlic wings sounded good to me, so I ordered that off of the tapas section. I was on Unilocal, looking at the different pictures people had posted from the restaurant. A picture of the fried rice with shrimp looked really good. I decided to add that to our order as well. It probably took about 15 minutes for our food to come out. The wings were plain and came with a sweet and sour sauce. They were not spicy, which is fine with me. I do not do well with heat. My shrimp fried rice came out with my boyfriend’s plate. My boyfriend is the opposite of me, he loves spicy things. Usually when we go to restaurants, the«spicy» factor is lacking. When he started eating it, he made a comment about how spicy it was. He finished the whole meal, but he was sweating while eating it. This was the surprise of the entire meal — my fried rice. It is a basic fried rice, veggies, egg, shrimp with some tomatoes thrown in there. I took a bite, okay, it’s good. Take another bite, hmm… okay, this is good. Third bite, OMGTHISISTHEBESTFRIEDRICEEVER! I have had my fair share of fried rice in my life. The hibachi fried rice is my ultimate favorite rice, I’m not sure why, but it always tastes so much better than others. This rice surpassed my expectations and I was so happy to have left overs to take home. I would come here for the fried rice alone. The prices are a little steep, in my opinion. BUT, the food was good, so I do have to commend them on putting out good food. The waiter that was working that day was great. He was really attentive and made sure that our drinks stayed full and we were satisfied with our meal. Too bad we don’t live closer, I’m sure we’d be at this place a lot more. Don’t let the one page of food fool you! Just because it doesn’t have ten pages doesn’t mean they don’t have quality food. I’m not sure how it gets when it’s busy, as the entire time we had lunch, there wasn’t more than five tables of people. But if you want some good thai food and are in the area, I would recommend this restaurant!

Thai Me Up is a great addition to Stockton’s nightlife scene granted there’s not many safe places to go past 7pm here in town. Great atmosphere. Chic modern space. Delicious Thai dishes. This review is for after two visits. The server Daniel is as attentive and accommodating as ever. He warned us about the spice levels and he wasn’t kidding. Medium spicy is pretty damn spicy. We got Drunken Noodles and some yellow curry. Both are authentic tasting and mouth watering. We couldn’t stop eating. This place is perfect for a date night out or a casual lunch spot for a friend. Take your pick. I look forward to trying more things from this place.

Well, I’ll say this place is going down hill. It used to be our favorite spot. But after the last handful of visits I am becoming less and less of a fan. :( A couple times ago they refused to push a couple of tables together and forced us to instead sit at the bar with our group of 5, two of which were flying back out of the country and we wouldn’t see for a year. It would have been nice to sit and talk to them but the bar was completely impersonal. The kicker was about 10 minutes later another group of 5 walked in and they did it for them. I won’t even get into the fact that we waited FOREVER that night for our order to be taken, drinks to be taken, made, etc. Theres a story there but I won’t get into it. It was a very very bad experience. But I get it, I work in the service industry. We all have off nights so I let it slide. Well our last 2 take out orders of curry have completely burned through the styrofoam container and leaked everywhere. This last time I attempted to call and tell them about it, to no avail. I literally just called the restaurant 10 times with no answer. Wait that’s not true, somebody answered one of the times said«hello?» And then hung up right away. Wtf? That’s how you answer the phone at a business? Am I dreaming? I am not a happy camper right now. I’ve got curry all over my table. I wasn’t even going to whine about getting a refund, I just wanted to tell them what keeps happening with their containers. Ughhhhh! We are regulars there, we stop by a couple times a week and send constant business your way. To the owners– maybe you shouldn’t have fired all the girls. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and good servers. The guy you have working now is slow, inattentive, grumpy, sweaty, and apparently bad at answering phones. Come on guys, you were our favorite, please don’t drop the ball now

We’ve had Thai me up on our radar for a while and last week was just the occasion to give it a whirl. I had the duck noodle soup while my wife had pad see eww. We shared an order of curried chicken wings too. Walking into the place, it presents as kind of one of those pan-Asian trendy restaurants/cocktail lounges. Room was comfy and not overly crowded though it was a smaller room. The chicken wings were tasty but didn’t sing of curry. The curry didn’t really come through much at all. However it was prepared well, with the meat juicy and the skin crispy. The duck noodle soup broth was fantastic. The duck REALLY came through. The actual duck meat though was tougher than I like though. Moving onto the pad see eww, there weren’t a ton of veggies which made you feel it was lacking something. All the way around, the portions seemed small for the money. I like trying new places, and we tried this place but I doubt I’ll be back. Too bad, cause I had high hopes for this one.

Came in for dinner with a friend on a weekday. The food is mediocre and portion size is dam small. Way overpriced too!!! The medium-spicy option is actually kinda spicy. So be prepared for that! I wanted to pay for my meal with $ 100 bill, but the waiter told me they didnt have enough change. Um. What the hell. What kind of restaurant doesn’t have enough change. Really disappointed and confused by that. Not coming back again. You can get better tasting thai food with better service at Siamese Street on Pacific. Thai me up, your name is clever and cute but you disappointed me

I find it very hard checking out the restaurant scene in Stockton when I visit family here. We never go out simply because we are always cooking and eating at someone’s house. So this was special that we actually went out; especially since it was for our unplanned 10-year anniversary(and having babysitters!) celebration. After our matinée movie date, we found Thai Me Up through our Unilocal search and was not disappointed. This hip and modern restaurant just right on Pacific Avenue next to lots of other restaurants and shops. We all really dug the tapas style menu and the name of the place. For the 4 of us, we ended up ordering 5 tapa dishes that were all pretty good. I mean it was better than most of the places I’ve been to in the Bay Area. The only thing I wasn’t really into was the sports bar, but other than that, the service was also great. I’m glad that there was a place in Stockton that is on my list of places to come back to when I return now.

Really enjoyed our first visit. Since we’d eaten a few hours earlier we just shared some appetizers and soup. The Basil Wings, Pork Belly and Egg Rolls were great. The table next to us ordered spring rolls which we’ll try to order next time when we have more room. They have a nice small well-curated beer selection and my wife enjoyed her cocktail. The only bad thing in there are the acoustics. It’s small with many hard surfaces so with a couple of loud tables in there you’ll hear a mish-mash of multiple conversations from all directions. Maybe they can add some noise dampening material to the walls. Can’t wait to come back and try the curries.
