Just wanted to write a review in remembrance of the fun I used to have at this restaurant/lounge. When I lived in Stockton back in the 80’s, this was one of the few places for the locals to go for a decent meal and a night out! I always found their food to be good. But I especially remember partying every weekend in the bar. Remember the«Square Cow Fun Bar» logo? I was a regular, meeting all the other regulars there. We stood around the DJ booth drinking, laughing, watching music videos, & dancing our you-know-what’s off, all night long!(Well, until 1:30 am). The popular DJ back then was Todd Davis«The Hit Man»! Made a lot of great friends. Really miss those days and really miss the Black Anguses in general. Now that I’m older & grayer, don’t have any children to talk about my «back in the day» stories. So I guess you can just read it here! Ha! Ha!

R I P Black Angus, the handwriting was on the wall, as soon as Olive Garden opened up. Perhaps that corner can now be put to a better use.

my boyfriend and i like to come here when there’s those«2 for $ 37 dinner» coupons you get in the mail. it’s a really great deal… you get 1appetizer, soup or salad, your main course, then desert. the awesome thing is by the time the main dish is brought out, we are already full because we already ate soooo much. we usually get the sampler, and man those portions are freaken huge. the steak has always been good and dessert of course is always the cherry on top. –1 star only because it’s so dim in there. i really dont need to have a spotlight on me, but it hurts my eyes if i stay in there too long. sometimes it’s hard to get the attention of the wait staff too. overall, good place, good food. it’s only worth it if you have the coupon though.

What happened to this place?! What did that poor steak ever do to you guys that you should treat it that way? I mean since when is medium rare mean still cold in the middle? The service was terrible. The food was terrible. Luckily they make a stiff drink, otherwise you may have had to actually feel and taste the whole meal. All in all do not go here unless you have to, like on a blind date, where the date is blind and was driving.

This is the worst blank Angus I have ever been to. They could not cook a steak if their life depended on it. We have gone to this one way too many times and given them their last chance. Every time my steak is either raw or leather. The last time we went their a couple of months ago. I got my steak and I wanted it med rare. It was raw. I asked the waitress to have it cooked for 1 – 2 minutes more. 10 minutes later she brought it back and it looked like the bottom of a shoe.. by this time my family was finished with theirs. We called the manager over and told him this. He took my meal off and gave us free dessert. Whop-Dee-Doo. We payed the bill and left. Never been back since. I think the Chefs… Opps I mean SHORTORDERCOOKS that work there, need to take some cooking classes

***I never write long winded reviews, but I have to for this horrible dining expierence*** First let me say that my mum wanted to go to Outback Steakhouse, but I shuddered, then she changed her mind to Black Angus, boy was that a big mistake. Let me begin the review, I took my parents here for an early Mother’s day dinner for my mum last Friday. The hostesses were nice and pleasant, but after that, the expierence was pretty much a nose dive from there, crash and burn style. We made it easy on our waitress by not ordering any appetizers or wanting soup or salad with out entrée. Instead I ordered 3 beers and a Johnnie Walker Black Label on the rocks, then proceeded to order our entrees. My parents ordered the prime rib«medium», and I, the filet mignon«rare». My filet was fine, but my parents prime rib was a disaster, when the waitress brought them over, on two seperate times, i thought they looked well done. There was no pink or pink hue at all, unlike the pic in the menu. Half my dad’s cut was all fat, and my mum’s cut was dark brown on the outside, but rare in the inside. So it didn’t take much for me to figure out that the cuts were pre cut at rare, and then maybe thrown on a grill to reheat. Which is bad all around if you’re going to charge that much for reheated food. Hell, my parents said they had better at Dennys, yes, they said Dennys! My dad, who had steak fries as his side with his entrée, said that the fries were the best thing he had all night. As for the service, not once did our waitress ever cleaned the table of unused bread plates/entrée plates or empty bottles, I even stacked the plates and moved the bottles to the front edge of the table. I don’t think this was our waitress fault, the staff needs to be properly trained, it’s as if she was thinking that this is the bus boy’s job and not hers. I felt really bad that my mother had a bad dining expierence, along with my dad, for an early Mother’s day dinner. All this and I still tipped our waitress 14% of the $ 95 tab, I use to work in the industry, so I believe in karma. 1 star, for the hostesses, and 1 star, for my entrée being fine.

Ron has been the manager at this place for years. my dad and him grew up together and i use to work there back in my high school days. Good times! The baked potato soup is so damn good, i remember working there and goin in the back and eatting a bowl while i was working and then taking some home. that’s all i really like from there, so i order 2 bowls of that and a side salad and a few drinks from the bar and im good to go.

Three and a half stars. Loaded baked potato soup is heavy, but the salad in comparison is boring. Deep fried zuchini sliced at an angle for nice long chips are good with or without the creamy cucumber dip. Baked potatoes are okay, vegetables quite edible, dessert seems prepackaged. Steaks are pretty good though, and that’s what you go to a steakhouse for. My ribeye was just right.

Slightly pricey, but the drinks are decent… if you have the right bartender. They tried to water down our drinks once when I went there with the family… and my aunt’s drunk boyfriend was pissed! The best thing I enjoy about Black Angus… sneaking up in the middle of the night and shotting out the«G» in their sign. FUNTIMES!!!

the food here is really good ! i love the big tables and feng shui of the whole place. the mashed potatoes are super drool worthy and for the first time in my life i ate veggies with no hassle. whatever they did to them is exceptional!!! the cheesecake was good and i loved how they gave me the option of rasberry sauce which is a highly unusual offer. i loved it. i would definetly recommend this place for a date or a casual night out.

Definitely a HUGE improvement since they’ve remodeled. It’s much more inviting with the new exterior and revamped dining area. Ahhhh… the food. Who doesn’t like good steak and potatoes? And the service is pretty good too.
