Would be zero stars. We purchased a defective tinsel light up tree. The lights on the top after being on for a short time would burn out. An associate named sann helped us. We asked if we could exchange or get store credit, she said something was expired after 10 days. Not sure what, she didn’t make it clear. She kept going back and forth to the manager named Lidia/Lydia to ask if it was ok to exchange. Which they did not have another of the multi colored tree. They had a clear lit tree which cost less. They wouldn’t allow us to get store credit, nor store credit for the differnce of the costs of the trees. we weren’t looking for a refund or our money back. They gave us a cheaper and different tree, which hopefully works. We won’t know til December. A simple solution would be store credit because now we possibly have another defective tree, and they don’t have a repeat customer. And I will let my family and friends know how poorly the exchange was managed. They were even going to make sann check if we were telling the truth about it not working. As if we like to just waste our time on a Saturday afternoon lying about the functionality of their products so we could get another one. We were treated like we were liars & like all we wanted was our money back. We just wanted not to be ripped off by not at least getting the differences of the cost of the tree in store credit and not getting the same product we purchased. Terrible customer service. The worst! The stores a mess, you can’t even get down most aisles because they have boxes in the way & the workers function with snobby faces and attitudes like they hate their jobs. And chill with their homies in the couch area. Don’t touch the carts either, they are filthy just brought in from random places around town with a guy loading them off the back of the truck and put right back in place.

Big lots just gets better and Better. I just noticed this place has gotten cleaner and more organized. I like how big lots uniforms are pretty much giants colors too

This Big Lots is great. I often find that they have the really nice stuff, that the other Big Lots sell out. Like beautiful frames and house hold décor.

Yes, I’m a fan. This is my Big Lots. It’s a chaotic, unorganized mess, but I love it. Needed some glue sticks for work(okay-I work with kids!) and found some for 22 cents a piece… a perfect interim fix until my massive order came from an on-line store. You’ll find cereal on the cheap, healthy types too. Beauty products. Fun seasonal stuff. Party goods. Since the change from MacFrugals to Big Lots, they now even carry furniture… kinda wierd, but cool. Hahah, that reminds me, my son has a term for when his wife connives him into going to «girl» type stores(ie. Joann’s, Michaels etc), «You’re MacFrugaling Me»! This a term derived from the phrase his mom(me) would say as driving by, «Oh, let’s just stop a minute at MacFrugals-I promise it’ll only be a minute»! Good stuff!

I’m pretty sure it was the gf who suggested we go to Big Lots this morning. We’d gone there once before on impulse, on our way home from somewhere out on east Hammer, and had found a three shelf white bookcase to hold cookbooks and college texts. I’m not sure what we were looking for today. What a mess this store is. The clientele must be the type that, if they pick something off a shelf to examine, feel it’s someone else’s job to see that it gets back where it came from, so they drop it on the floor. Add to that the narrow aisles, and the fact that those same shoppers tend to abandon their shopping carts haphazardly throughout the store, and what you’re left with is an almost impenetrable maze. The stuff in here is mostly — let’s not mince words — junk. Occasionally you’ll find something you might need; if so, the prices aren’t bad, but don’t think for a moment that you’re investing in something that’s going to last a long time. I found a 25 pack of plastic cd slim cases for $ 3.99, so I was happy. The gf put a couple other unmemorable items in the basket. The lines at check out weren’t too long, and we were gone. I disinfected my hands as soon as we got to the car, being more than a little concerned about what might be living on the handle of the shopping cart I’d pushed. On the drive home I felt like I needed a bath. The two stars are for the folks who work at this Big Lots store. They are helpful, kind, and as efficient as they can be. I locked eyes with two of them during my visit. I could tell they knew what I was thinking, and that they quietly concurred.
