Happy Moon Asian Grill

It is not often, if ever, that I will rate a restaurant that is below a 2 star; however, this place easily ranks one of the top 5 worst Chinese restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. Period. When they first opened I tried them out and it took far too long to get my food considering I was one of only 3 people there. I got the Orange Chicken and was not impressed at all. Vaguely orange tasting gloopy sauce was the highlight of that dish. I waited a few months before going back, hoping that my first experience was a product of their lack of kitchen experience. Unfortunately, the second time fared much the same; only this go around I ordered the General Tso’s chicken. Again, wasn’t impressed. It seemed like it shared the same gloopy orange sauce as the orange chicken, but this dish had simply added chili paste in it. After about 2 years of vowing never to go back, I went against my better judgement and returned there tonight expecting something different than my previous two adventures. I ordered the Chicken Chow Mein. The portion size was huge, especially considering I bought a small, so I was excited about that. I get home to eat my meal and it is literally flavorless. The sauce was a clear/​white runny sauce and the only thing that had any flavor what so ever was the celery. I will not be going back and would advise anyone thinking about trying that place to save your $ 8 – 12 and go somewhere else. At that kind of money you can go to virtually any sit down restaurant in Stillwater and have a great tasting meal. The only positive thing about the experience was that my meal came with a free fortune cookie and the woman at the register was incredibly nice.

Food is nice and quantities are superfluous. Better to pickup or deliver.

Service: Not happy. I think the girl that works there was not loved as a child because she is in a constant state of bad moodness and will find a way to be annoyed with you. It’s like the soup Nazi from Seinfeld. Do it right or else she will rip you a new one.
Food: Happy. Tasty and lots of it.
Price: Fairly happy. Payed $ 10.60 for general tso with steamed rice and a drink.

Good food, good prices… more along the lines of what you expect from a typical Chinese place…

Cheap and good with huge servings. This is your standard chinese takeout place with a few seats for those who prefer to dine in. You can’t beat the price for the ammount of food.
