It seriously pains me to do this, because this used to be my favorite café. But the staff has recently changed, and they are absolutely horrendously slow. Every time I come in for a pumpkin bar and a latte it shouldn’t take 20 minutes for me to get a drink. I recommend training your employees to be more efficient or hiring more people.

The club sandwich is very good. The pickled vegetables are fantastic as well. Definitely worth the stop!

Came here for Sunday Brunch and the house was packed. 30 minute wait for food, coffee(is endless) but they were constantly out. Service was polite. Food was pretty decent. I ordered the frittata ranchero. Mocha wasn’t as great as I hoped. But wasn’t too bad considering how busy they were.

Fabulous little spot on top of the hill in Stillwater. Apparently a lot of people have heard about the wonderful food served here because it was questionable if I would even find a seat. So many different people there enjoying life while having everything from coffee, breakfast, or lunch. My brunch companion and I both got French Toast –it was a large portion and you could easily share this along with perhaps an egg platter. I did get some bacon and scrambled cheese eggs too because I always want all the flavors. Coffee was of good quality. This is a lively local spot worth stopping in on a weekend just to get out, treat yourself, and be social.

Hands down my all time favorite café so far in all of Minnesota. Everything is so scrumptious and delicious, and better yet everything is very affordable! The staff is amazing and friendly, there is wonderful local art on display, it’s just a great atmosphere. I go here at least 4 mornings a week and get my miel and a pumpkin bar(best I’ve ever had). The cinnamon wheels are to die for, scones are amazing, egg dishes are delicious, you really can’t go wrong

I am now officially over this place. I’ve eaten here several times. Coffee is fine but I’ve given up ordering their pastries and desserts because those I’ve tried have been dry and/or tasteless. Sandwiches are creative but most have a sweet component that I’m not fond of. My most recent visit was for dinner. The restaurant was at most half-full. It took a long time for the waitress to take our order, and a long time for the food to come. We both finished our water and I could not get the waitress’s attention for a refill. She was chatting at the bar with another employee. My husband ordered a bowl of soup($ 5) and a small plate of two pulled pork tacos($ 7). «Small» is the operative word here. The soup bowl was of modest size and only half full. The tacos consisted of two single tortillas with a couple tablespoons of meat on them. I was hungry so I ordered a burger($ 14). The menu said it was served with lettuce, tomato, and a special sauce. As the waitress brought our food she asked if I wanted mustard, but I declined since my burger had sauce. Or so I thought. Nope. So I decided to ask for a side of mayo. But where was our waitress? Once again at the bar, fanning a stack of menus. Finally my husband walked over to her to ask for it. Good thing I got it. The burger was rather dry and had an off taste. I didn’t get sick from it but I only ate it because it’d been a long day and I was tired and hungry. We decided against dessert and asked for the check. It took another 15 minutes for our waitress to pick it up. We went home and had a snack.

In town visiting from AZ and someone suggested this place for a great chai! I am going to say it is the best chai I have had to date! The place is super cute with a great menu and a friendly staff!

Corned beef hash and a cappuccino. Both perfect. Charming little café worth each and every of the five stars I’m giving it.

This is a nice solid café tucked among those gorgeous Victorian homes in Stillwater. I had a slice of carrot cake and their bottomless home brewed coffee. Not bad, the cake was sweet and moist. The coffee was dark and had bold flavored. Street parking for this café is abundant. One thing that I always take note of when I visit a café or restaurant is the cleanliness of their washroom because that gives you an indication how much pride the staff and owner has over their establishment including their kitchen. This café has a big spacious and clean restroom so that is definitely a big plus in my books! They have nice music in the background, not too loud where I couldn’t hear myself while trying to work at the same time.

First time at Chilkoot café, the service and food were both very good. We ordered breakfast called the brass tacks(two eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast). We weren’t satisfied with the portion amount, very little everything. I would’ve rather paid more for more on my plate because all three of us weren’t quite satisfied. I would like to recommend this place and give it another try, so hopefully next time it will be better.

I’ve been here several times now and got something different each time. Everything was great, but the Reuben was incredible! I’ve had hundreds of Reuben’s in my day and I think this one was the most memorable. It’s going to be hard for me by to order it every time I go back!

What happened to the cuban sandwich? We drove to Stillwater specifically to have it. This is not the same/old Cuban. It has a teaspoon of pulled pork, no bacon, something that looked like canadian bacon, no pickled vegetables, a lot of something that seemed like horseradish, no cheese. The cuban we used to go to the Chilkoot for 6 plus times a year had tons of pulled pork, crispy bacon, pickled veg, melted cheese and shaved ham. It was really the best sandwich in the greater Twin Cities. Did this place change hands? We haven’t been there in around 6 – 8 months. Something was different. It was disappointing.

Good ambiance and décor. Self serve coffee was really good. I had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant and it was delicious. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area.

Love the name! Charming location part café part bike shop. Enjoyed the strawberry vanilla scone and the breakfast Sammy. Worth the trip up the hill out of the busy downtown traffic.

Bought a Tandem from these guys, and they were great in keeping up with me over the phone. I went to Freewheel Cyclery in Minneapolis, and the service there was so atrocious that I just opted to shop outside of town with some REAL professionals. If you are looking for a bicycle, and want a local more personal shop, instead of being a number, give these guys a call. They also had the best deal in town too, so it was great all around. Also try out the Café, it’s worth the visit, will definitely be back this summer.

Charming! I’ve been wanting to try this place for ages, and finally dragged my husband here for a brunch date. The gal who took my order wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu, but was friendly. Great coffee and tasty breakfast. Their cakes looked tasty, but I was too full for dessert. Try the miel. Cheers!

Had excellent brunch and fun time at the Chilkoot Café. Great roobios tea latte, coffee drinks, quiche and breakfast specials. Wonderful friendly staff. Kudos to the young lady that took memory vacation pictures for us! Rated a 5 for food atmosphere and service.

Another fine dining experience at this warm and charming bistro. I had the Seafood Arrabbiata and was pleased with the generous supply of mussels and perfectly cooked shrimp. My wife had the Braised Pork Shoulder and seemed to enjoy every bite. I sometimes have an issue with noise, but even though most of the tables were full, we had no problems hearing each other. We enjoyed our meal and will be back soon.

We stumbled upon this cute little place by accident almost. We were in Stillwater and just Unilocaled our way to a nearby breakfast place. Even though this isn’t directly in the cute shopping area of Stillwater, it’s not far, and it’s totally worth the drive. This is the type of place that takes pride in sourcing local food and ingredients, and they even list some of their local suppliers up on the wall. You order at the counter and pay, help yourself to coffee and water, and they bring your food to your table. We really enjoyed the décor, which is kind of industrial, a la the bikery part of the business, but still warm and inviting and very earthy with nice wood tables, a beautiful canoe on the wall and cute signs everywhere to help you figure out what is what. Foodwise, the coffee was strong and plentiful. My husband ordered oatmeal and a side fruit bowl. He didn’t know(nor was he told) that there was actually fruit on the plate with his oatmeal, but minor quibble. We ate all the fruit and fruit is good for you, so whatever. I got the special of the day, which was advertised as gnocchi with basically eggs benedict on the top, but with bernaise instead of hollandaise. The«gnocchi» were really more like potato cakes but who cares? It was delicious… and I mean like lick the plate delicious. Served with some beautiful potatoes and um, omg, delicious. Staff was friendly and very patient with us while we made up our mind. A+! Price was a bit steep but wasn’t too bad — we paid about $ 27. We would definitely go back next time we’re in Stillwater.

$ 3.50 for a giant piece of raspberry pie. I still regret not buying two. I stopped in for a quick cup of coffee(good) and now I’m thinking of excuses to go back for pie.

Pleasantly surprised! I had come all the way to Stillwater to visit the Bikery which used to be next door, but it had closed. So sad! Instead I had lunch here and enjoyed every bite. The veggie quiche was so different and special! It was a cauliflower, carrot, chickpea curry quiche. What wonderful flavors! The crust was thin and flakey too. I also had a small green salad that had fennel, goat cheese(my fave) and slivered almonds dressed in a bright vinaigrette with grilled bread. Delicious! They had treats in the case at the counter where you order, but none where screaming at me. Maybe next time. The atmosphere isn’t unique like the Bikery’s was. It is one big, open room with tables. They do have some bike paintings up and two bikes in the window, but it feels more like a regular café.
