Absolutely amazing! Food is fantastic and service is great. Fish and chips are the best and the beer cheese soup is even better. Had to go back! Humus plate is scrumptious. You are right on the Columbia where we watched wind surfers and para-sailers. Perfect! I wish I lived here instead of being on vacation. Definitely would be a regular stop.

This gem is down the hill from the main street in Stevenson and right on the riverfront. The glassed-in back patio was warmed with heaters the day in early April when we were here because there was a stiff wind coming up the gorge. The view of the Columbia in the evening sun was wonderful. Will(Willis), our waiter, was very friendly and told us quite a bit about the history of the old building. Our buffalo meatloaf with vegetables was excellent as were the Thai wings, the asparagus soup and the mac and cheese with added mushrooms – all large portions and still under $ 50. This is a great place for dinner after an afternoon at the nearby Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum.

We stopped here after doing the majority of Dog Mountain today. It was great! Got a nice table and the waiter was low key and friendly! :) I ordered the Portabello mushroom burger with a salad, coffee, and house wine. It was all very good. Asked for no pickle, but it was in there anyway. My friends had a burger and the butternut squash soup. One friend ordered the Thai fries. I didn’t care for them but they loved them! The manager or owner came around as well to make sure that all was ok! This place had really decent food and wine/beer and great customer service. We would definitely go there again!!! it was busy the whole time that we were there too! Word gets out I see :)

What a friendly service. Such a wonderful experience. Stop by to have some beer against the splendid view even if you are not hungry.

The jalapeño poppers were excellent. The Hamburg had a lot of flavor just the right amount of juice and the fries were evenly matched.

First time I’ve left a zero dollar tip in 10-years. Why? It had nothing to do about food quality or ambiance. Clark and Lewie’s is an amazing place to eat a meal. However, service was terrible — at least in my section. I ordered a drink at the bar while waiting for a seat to open up on the outside patio. Bartender was chatty and cheerful — no problems there. I was seated on their amazing outdoor patio with a great view overlooking the Columbia — no problems there. But then the waiting started. I waited 20 minutes for a food menu before I had to flag a waitress down. And then I had to flag another waitress down to take my order 20 minutes later. Then I had to flag down a waiter to take a drink order… 20 minutes later. My drink order arrived twice(!) 20 minutes later. Then, I had to flag another waitress down to bring me the check, and of course flag another waitress down to run my credit card. Their outdoor patio is maybe 30 feet wide by 20 feet deep with maybe 15 tables total. 4 staff were serving tables. Not once was I checked on — I had to initiate all requests with staff. Other tables around me were having the same problem. I’ve been to busier places with less staff able to manage a rush. I wouldn’t rule out returning here for another meal and am guessing my experience was below the standard of service as seen in other reviews. Still, terrible service is terrible service.

A Gem in the Gorge… worth driving from Portland to experience it’s charm & fabulous creative food. A diverse menu with a great selection of comfort food and exceptional out of the ordinary culinary delights. The décor is well appointed and a tribute to Lewis & Clarks spirit past & present. Too cold to sit on the deck overlooking the river and park… will return when it’s warmer! The young man serving us exuded a passion for the restaurant & the food. What a wonderful experience. A must visit for anyone traveling in the Columbia River Gorge.

Not only is Clark & Lewie’s situated along the Columbia River Gorge in the quaint, picturesque town of Stevenson, WA it also boasts great food and great company. Todd & Shellie are the reason we frequent this establishment as much as we do. They provide great service, friendly conversation, and delicious food and drinks. This is a place where locals go, but visitors are welcome with open arms, and the local patrons as well as the staff of this great restaurant are always eager to offer up travel advice to visitors. I love Clark & Lewie’s and frequent it often. It’s worth checking out. :)

For all the rave that other reviewers and locals gave to this place we weren’t all that impressed. We first showed up and the doors were closed saying«we’ll reopen at 5:30». When we came back they said they had to close and go to the store because they had«run out of everything». Sure enough they were out of the original entrée I ordered and they even ran out of diet coke. It took almost 45 min to get our food. The food was decent but not fantastic. My portabello burger didn’t have much flavor, would have been better grilled with some balsamic rather than deep fried(too much batter). Even the elk burger my husband had just really didn’t have much flavor. The mac n cheese with bacon and mushrooms was really good.

Love the Hamburgers and onion rings! New Menu includes a surf and turf… Filet mignon with a couple of yummy crab cakes. Loved the music of the locals. Low key and nice. Thank you for the great meal, and friendliness!

Absolutely phenomenal food, service and atmosphere. A relaxed beautiful venue with a beautiful view of the river is already hard to beat, but add in servers who are fast and know the menu and it gets even better. There is a great selection of loach like craft beer and their house red was delicious. We ordered a ton of food starting with the salmon chowder(oh my gosh amazing) and then splitting the elk burger and Mac and Cheese. After eating this food we are counting down the days until we can come back! The salmon chowder was so delicious and not too rich but just creamy enough. The Mac and Cheese was a perfect texture, ratio and taste, and the elk burger and fries was delicious. We will be coming back to this restaurant for another date night soon and cannot wait!

What an adorable little place! The view alone is five stars! My partner and I ate there during the sunset and were blown away. This is the perfect spot to relax on the Columbia River and eat great food. Together we shared the elk burger with fries, poutine(Thai sauce with sweet potato fries), and the half size of the macaroni and cheese. The elk burger was scrumptious! I wasn’t sure what to think when my spouse ordered it but I recommend it for sure. The fries were very skinny, nothing special. The poutine was different in the best way possible. My taste buds have never experienced something like that but are hoping to get it again very soon! The macaroni was yuuuummmmyy. I’m a big fat macaroni and cheese head and anytime I see it in the menu it is bound to be in my tummy. The half size was perfect for the both of to share and definitely a must-have. And one of my favorite parts of the evening was our waitress. I don’t remember what her name was but she said she was born and raised in the area with a young child. Anywhooo, she was such a sweet woman and made our night so much better. Overall, every time I’m in the area you can expect me there!

The VIEW! An absolutely adorable restaurant. Small, cozy and incredible views. Plenty of vegetarian/vegan options and great beer! Caring service, very good homestyle food. No frozen crap here! Even onion rings are made fresh in-house!

I was kind of surprised about the negative reviews(I try to draft my review — even if only in my head — before writing one so I don’t get swayed). JJ and I were on our way to Stevenson for a wedding and stopped here for lunch. We split the elk burger(very lean and tasty) and fries and the wedge salad(which was great). Great location, great view. The service was friendly — not super fast, but then it was pretty crowded on a warm day(especially with a family crowd of whiny picky children). Not much of a wine selection, but what I had was great. Good value for money.
