I have been loyal to the same chineese restaurant for the last 20+ years. Decided to give this place a shot based on their Unilocal reviews and the fact that it’s 5 minutes from my house. Wasn’t disappointed. The egg drop soup was fantastic. My sweet and sour chicken was great also. Their rice was a bit different than I’m used to, but surprisingly really good. They were really busy(a good sign as a new customer) so they gave us a 2 liter for the wait. My fiancé who picked the order up said the place was very clean as well. We will definitely be back!

This has got to be some of the best Chinese food I have ever eaten in the area. The portions are fantastic and the price is even more amazing. I’ve been back several times and will be back several more.

Really nice people own this carry out style restaurant. But the food just isn’t great. I would try one more time just because I really want them to do well.

For cheap carrryout Chinese, this is a good option. Fast and friendly. Not your typical«gravy» for almond chicken. It’s very good. Light and flavorful, garlicky. They do use a more typical gravy for egg foo young so if you preferred that, I’m sure you could ask for it. And great egg foo young. Not something I usually get but may be getting it more often now. They do not have chow mein noodles for chow mein though. Just bean sprouts served w/rice. So not sure what the difference is btwn chow mein and chop suey here.

Food was good. Service was fast and friendly. Pricing is standard. Lo mein noodles were pad thai noodles, but that’s ok because I hate when places use ramen noodles!

Just your average Chinese carry-out restaurant. There’s a bit of a language barrier over the phone — they tried to give us wonton soup rather than the fried wontons I thought I ordered. They were quick to correct the mistake once we could point to the correct item on the menu. The food was prepared quickly and the food and prices were average.

This is mostly a carryout joint but they do have a couple tables for you to sit if you choose to dine in. We dined in only because we had a million errands to run and needed a quick fuel before we were out in the madness again. If you dine in you have to pay for water(lol!) and you get served out of carryout containers. We ordered the wonton soup which had a weird waxy taste and neon yellow broth? It was truly like no other wonton soup I’ve ever eaten. I had the general tso because she said it’s their best seller and made from scratch sauce and all so I tried it. It was okay, nothing too exciting. A weird thing that happened though was when I asked for sauce for my eggroll she picked it up and poured sauce all over it… ummm what?! That’s fricken weird, lady. Please don’t touch my food… The food was okay but the experience wasn’t anything to run back to. Tons of better options

Good food and most importantly very, very clean place. Been here once for almond chicken and chicken noodle soup. Very good although egg rolls kinda bland. I will be back.

Just moved to Sterling Heights and this is my new go to Chinese place. The people are nice, and the food is super yummy, but they take only cash for delivery, no credit/debit. They need to change that, and come on into this century with payment options. I’d order more frequently if they did.

It’s back, it’s back, thank goodness it’s back. Some time ago, this was a very nice Chinese restaurant that also had the word«Garden» in it(maybe the same name). I even reviewed it, though the review has mysteriously disappeared. Then, the proprietors retired. It was taken over by a different group of people with different recipes, which I did not care for. Now, it appears that someone with a connection to the original owners has returned. Why do I think so? Tofu Pad Thai is why. The old restaurant had it. The replacement didn’t. In fact, very few Chinese restaurants have it and very few of those do it anywhere near as well as this one does. Start it off with a first-class spring roll and you’re good to go. What a happy surprise it is to have you back, New Garden. You were missed!

I’ve had their take out a few times now. The Almond Boneless Chicken has a different gravy than I am used to but it’s delicious. I like the egg drop soup but the crunchy noodles taste like play dou. Also, their lo mein is made with pad thai noodles.

I give New Garden an Excellent rating. I have tried many Asian restaurants SE Michigan this is the best so far — I am asian. The food here is not greasy, over seasoned, or have no flavor.

I called in and asked if they offered tofu fried rice and a man replied, «HE-HE-HE-HE, no we don’t have that.». I have no idea why that was the funniest thing he ever heard, but hearing him reply like that made me laugh a bit. I went with chicken fried rice. It was fresh but I thought it could have had a little more kick. Guess I’ll have to ask about the spice options next time. I thought the portion for the price was pretty good — $ 5.06 for a pint of chicken fried rice and that’s a mountain of a pile on your standard dinner plate.

I will start by saying I visited on a hot summer day, and there was no air conditioning, just a fan blowing at the chairs. If you plan on eating in, do it on a less than hot day. That being said, the owners(I’m sure they were) were super friendly when I walked in the door, and the place was clean. I ordered orange chicken and crab rangoons. It was ready very fast(within 10 minutes). The food was delicious, they gave huge portions, and it was presented nicely. The egg roll was honestly the best I’ve eaten. The chicken was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside with a perfect amount of sauce. The crab rangoons were sweeter than I’ve had before but flaky and tasty nonetheless. The price was good, especially for the portion size. I think I found my new Chinese go to.

Upon ordering from here I was really hesitant only because of the shopping center it’s located in. Kind of run down and sloppy but I have to say it’s quite delicious. I’m pretty simple, I’m a fried rice lover and the chicken fried rice is very good! Although I usually like mine a little more well done it’s still to my liking. Egg roll was hot and good also. Staff was friendly. It was surprisingly super clean in there too. I highly recommend.

Nothing groundbreaking, but they’ve yet to disappoint us. We’ve ordered the fried rice, sub gum and almond boneless a few times from the cheerful folks running this place and as a local business owner, I’m proud to have them in our neighborhood. The Riverland Plaza could use more good shops like this. Price, service, quality and serving size all exceeded our expectations. Delivery is fast and friendly.

I gave a 4 because they were so friendly. They even seemed surprised that we sat down to eat. It is very much just another Chinese-American take out place, but it is good. The beef and broccoli was very tender, but also a bit bland. The sesame chicken was good. Nice sized pieces were in the container and the boxes were full of food.

Tried this place out today, like I said in the check in there was a language barrier and the phone was actually handed off to somebody near the beginning of the conversation when I called to place the order. They said for sweet and sour chicken, and a quart of egg drop soup it would be just under $ 15 for delivery — not to bad. But they said it would take an hour on a Monday night. An hour and 10 minutes go by and I see a man crossing hall road by foot to get to my house. Puzzled I let him in he was completely out of breath — a little weird and the transaction was done. The chicken was good, the sauce was good, the rice was actually better then most, and the soup was good. However they did not add those crunchy things you can usually dunk, and I did get 1 fortune cookie. Nothing spectacular here but if my regular Chinese place«doesn’t have there driver on duty» then I’ll return.
