A & E Factory Service

A & E is the warranty service provider for Whirlpool/​Kitchenaid. If you call for warranty work, this is probably who you will get. Say no. Ask for an alternative provider, even if you have to wait an extra day.
A&E is despicable. They don’t care one cent for customers. Their windows are 4 – 5 hours long including the guy can show at the END of the window (1 – 5, and guy shows at 5:01) They are completely un accommodating. When you call you are in a call-​center they are so huge and uncaring. Their process is awful. My window is 1 – 5, I’ve called 3 times to say I have to leave at 4. By 3, they hadn’t even assigned a technician yet. So disrespectful.

Absolutly horrible experience. Missed the appointment then they sent the wrong part. Tried to tell them that and the service rep on the phone couldn’t talk to the parts dept. we waited another 2 days for the parts to call. They fumbled and made mishaps like this for another 7 days. We must have talked to them 15 times. Still not fixed. They were scheduled to come back tomorrow. We were the first call in the morning. We just got a call that said he will be here between 8 and 5. They were rude on the phone, couldn’t talk internally, had to reschedule 3 times and all of this needed us to call each time along the way.

I did not choose this service but when my warranty company said they were sending out A&E Factory Service to diagnose and repair my refrigerator, I immediately thought of their trademark blue and white trucks that I see EVERYWHERE. I felt much better about a large company coming to my house when I would not be there. (18 and 19 teenage boys were home)
The first repair guy called my cell phone to report that the problem isn’t with the fridge, it’s was my power outlet. Which was BS. The fridge had been running on that outlet for 6 years. He was just being a jack wagon. Then told me that I needed to provide him with a credit card to pay for the $ 75 service call as it would be not covered under the warranty. I told him that couldn’t be right and I will look into it, I would not give him my cc number. he then told me he wasn’t leaving my house until he secured payment. Already being a jerk, I was afraid of what he would do and what a HUGE mistake I made trusting this company and stranger into my house. I gave him the cc and told him to leave and called the kids to make sure he was out.
My husband hit the roof, it was a ridiculous claim, and tested the outlet himself. I reported this to the warranty company and they said that the first call WAS covered under the warranty since the issue the first guy found had nothing to do with the refrigerator acting up. They had another service guy come out to repair the FRIDGE, but I made sure to be home. The second guy was super nice and agreed with me and the warranty company’s assessment of the work that needed to be done. He replaced the motherboard in the fridge and was done. Which fixed the problem.
Maybe the first was a bad seed, but in 9 months now of attempting to recover my $ 75 for the first call, A & E is ignoring me and the warranty company’s requests. The warranty company keeps submitting for reimbursement and A & E ignores it.
Skip this company. Don’t trust them in your house, and insist on another service if your warranty company tries to send them out.
