Friendly staff, helpful owners, nice ambience … definitely good sushi … very fresh fish and the wasabi was also very very fresh and potent just the way I love it!

Asian fusion restaurant in downtown Steamboat. We went later on a Saturday night(they’re open till 9:30pm) so getting a table wasn’t difficult. Our waitress was very friendly and took our drink orders. For appetizers we tried the hot and sour soup, which is big enough for 3 to share. Unlike many other Chinese restuarants this is a vegetarian soup with no pork in it. We also had a Thomas sushi roll, which was fairly expensive at $ 17 for 8 pieces. However, it was very fresh and is comprised of spicy tuna on the inside with tuna, samon, white fish and avocado on the outside. I tried the drunken noodles with chicken. Sambis has a spice scale from 1 – 5. I tried a 2 and it still had some good spice. I’m glad I didn’t go to a 4 or 5. My friends had the sesame chicken and chicken noodle bowl and both enjoyed them. We had leftovers on two of the three entrees. The portions are large enough for two or three people to share(probably need at least two entrees for three people). Definitely worth a try in the boat.

It’s Asian food in Steamboat, so I try not to be too picky when I go to a new place. What a disappointment. Service was so casual it was to the point of rudeness, as the single server shouted across the room to diners and cooks alike. The menu seemed promising, but ended up being the biggest let down. I ordered the beef noodle bowl and my mother ordered dumplings. The dumplings were clearly the sysco style frozen kind that are thrown into a pan and reheated. Bland, rubbery, and sadly the best part of the meal. My noodle bowl was a disaster. It was a very off putting cold temperature except for the slightly warm beef, and was just mushy, sauceless noodles, cabbage, the beef, and some sweet red sauce that I wasn’t sure what it was exactly for. I poured the sauce on the dry noodles, because a noodle bowl with no sauce? Big mistake, it was mushy, cold, overly sweet, bland, and a waste. I ate about five bites and couldn’t stomach anymore. To summarize, the food was bland and lazy and the service was a bit abrasive.

Love this place. Vicki is awesome — fun and makes sure you are well taken care of. She gets it right every time, no nonsense, and with a smile. As professional as it gets, and nice. The chinese food is awesome. Have been a fan of the chinese food and Vicki for YEARS. The only reason it is not 5 stars is because I find the thai food a bit disappointing. Might be a personal thing.

Visited this place with a friend who lives here ! I might not have found it on my own. So good! Sushi was fresh and sake was hot! I had the shrimp and vegetables with spicy sauce and it was great! Chicken Lo Mein good also! The locals definitely love this place and now I do too! Service was excellent ! Definitely be back!

Service was mediocre, food was worse. Ordered the Cashew Chicken. No flavor and it was extremely mushy. For the amount of food this place is EXTREMELY expensive. Could hear the staff arguing in the kitchen about other tables.

We were worried about this place given the reviews but we were totally impressed with the food and service. Our crew ordered the basil chicken, chicken pad Thai, drunken noodles, and sushi which were all delicious. The waitress was attentive and very helpful in ordering the food and generously offering additional rice to go with the leftovers. Great find!!!

Hey was awesome sushi and fast service. Can’t beat that. Maybe a little bit expensive, but you aren’t going to find it any cheaper in this town. Great location and view as well! Don’t plan on using American Express though…

I am truly disappointed in this restaurant. I’ve ordered take-out twice and the first time was actually pretty good. I love pad thai and the first time I got it from Sambi, they asked me how spicy I wanted it from a scale of 1 – 10. It was spicy but it was good! This time they didn’t ask me and there was NO spice whatsoever. I also waited for 15 minutes in the restaurant before anyone decided to speak to me. The staff acted like they were SO busy but there were maybe 6 tables in the entire place. The pad thai and spring roll(what I actually wanted was an egg roll because spring rolls are gross) cost me $ 21. I hated tipping them. The take-out ladies were so preoccupied and rude.

No flavor. At all. $ 31 for two soggy entrees. You’d be better off getting Chinese food from a gas station.

Rushed service and bland food… The soups are even worse. This is my first«bad» experience ever with any restaurant. Terrible representation of Asian cuisine.

A large group of us ordered take-out. Not only were the late the food was terrible! Not one thing we ordered was good. I got«Lover’s Seafood» and it had really gross fried chicken pieces! We also ordered fried wontons and they were flat burnt dough with nothing inside. We called to say we wanted a refund and they said they would refund them as long as they got the wontons back! They sent their driver within 15 minutes and they took them back. I’ve never heard of such a thing. Such horrible food and customer service. Lastly, their prices on their website don’t match what was actually charged. NEVERAGAIN!!!

I hesitate to give it one star. Mainly because the sever who was here when we ate lunch was the rudest, most in attentive person I’ve ever had wait on me. I’m not too fussy but when I’m treated like someone wishes I wasn’t there, it’s unacceptable. That went for the dude seating us and who brought the water, etc. The plates were tossed on the table without even landing in front of those seated to eat. Not a word was said as she rushed off to be rude to another customer. Frankly, this place should be sold off to someone who cares about its customers. You will never see me in this lousy excuse for a restaurant again.

We’ve had very good happy hour sushi specials here, and our friends had a pretty good Thai curry. Service was good too, although it was not very crowded when we were there. We’ll go back!

$ 38 bucks for two entrees(Orange chicken general tsos chicken) and two egg rolls(take out) it was not with it. At all. The food was absolutely horrible. No taste what so ever. And for the price… Not worth it! The chicken on the bag is better than this place and 1⁄6 the cost. Never again

This was the blandest, most unappetizing meal my friends and I have ever eaten. We should have known better than to trust a restaurant that serves multiple cuisines. The meat was a strange texture(we had beef and chicken), and everyone needed to add hot sauce to make it tolerable. Sushi was also mediocre. Order a pizza or have some leftovers, whatever you do, stay away!

Friendly staff, but the food was nothing short of forgettable. Egg Foo Yung wasn’t even close — more like Alpo. Since this place changed hands, quality of the food seems to have skipped town also. Sorry, this place is now on the«No Fly» list.

Unlike some other recent reviews, the service was very good. Our waitress was prompt, friendly, and efficient. I had a Golden Roll which was excellent. Overall a very nice dinner.

All three people in my dining party thought the food was okay. I asked the server if a particular dish was gluten free. She asked if rice had gluten… She checked with the kitchen about the dish I was asking about it. It had gluten in it. So I ask which chicken dishes would be gluten free. She mentioned lemongrass chicken and it sounded good to me. The dish came to the table and it smelled like soy sauce. My husband said it tasted like soy sauce. I asked the server to confirm it was gluten free. Nope, it had soy sauce. Then she apologized and brought me a handwritten list with the gluten free options. When the bill came we were surprised that my dish wasn’t comped. And also that my friend’s dish was listed incorrectly and was $ 3 more than the dish he ordered. We didn’t complain. We were ready to leave.
