During a nice little walk downtown we noticed this fun looking candy shop and decided to stop in. There were a lot of candy selections to choose from and fun toys and gag gifts! A lot of their candy is sold in bulk and we wanted to treat ourselves, so sampled some. All of the bulk candies we sampled were really hard and stale. Not sure if it was because it’s the slow season or not… but it’s really not acceptable for a candy shop to serve stale candy. Bummer.

The chocolate covered Oreos were sooooo good. We had the milk chocolate and dark chocolate and both were excellent. We also had the milk chocolate truffle and a dark chocolate truffle. These were good too but not over the top great like the Oreos! We stayed one night in Steamboat and most shops and restaurants were closed. We hiked out to Fish Creek Falls and that’s about all we had time to do. It was raining most of today as we drove here from Grand Lake. .

We have been coming to Fuzziwig’s for years. Most people come for the ice cream, but the true gem in this store is the fudge. They make the best fudge including snickers and best of all red velvet fudge!!! I also love their caramel apples especially the heath bar and sea salt caramel. Most recently I tried their dark chocolate sea salt caramel candy and while I usually go here for the fudge, I will certainly be purchasing the dark chocolate sea salts again. They also have a lot of fun different little gifts for children.

We stopped in for ice cream after dinner. The flavor options were fun, prices were reasonable and the ice cream and cones were delicious. We particularly enjoyed the peanut butter cup, turtle, and sleepless in steamboat flavors. My only complaint after enjoying this fablulous after dinner treat was that they are not open late enough. We had to run to get in the door before they closed at 9:00, and we missed this treat all together the previous night.

The sisters and friend running the store when we stopped by were sharp and delightful, even after a day of what looked like pretty tired and rude tourists. Store has a selection of old fashioned candies and novelty items that is fun. Thoroughly enjoyed my dark chocolate dipped marshmallows(very heavy on the chocolate coating and what’s not to love about that?). But the S’Mores piece was flavorless. This would be a fun place to bring your kids, for sure; but the candy is not superior, gourmet or special.

Good service. The People are nice. The candy was terrible. I got what I call an Almond Bear, which I usually get at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Its chocolate on the outside, and almonds and fudge inside. Tasted like sugar. Gave me a stomach ache. It looks similar to what they sell at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Boulder. But Fuzzywigs Chocolate Factory version tastes terrible.

Found this place for ice cream for the kids — way more affordable than alternative options with good selection.

Delicious dark chocolate salted caramel(and some other dipped chocolates that looked really good); but otherwise the shop has ordinary candy treats and ice cream at extraordinary high pricing. Mostly M&Ms, Jelly Belly and Salt Water Taffy. Nothing super unique. The ice cream was Dreyers. Flavors you can buy in the store mostly. Boo! We’d have gotten ice cream if it was a unique brand. But the ice cream was pricey too.

Would I frequent a store like this at home? No. Do I like stopping in while on vacation? Hell yes. Sure things are overpriced, but they have a pretty wide variety of things. One of my friends loves the licorice scotty dogs. She bites their heads off first. Dad is a fan of Idaho Spud candy bars and I actually found them here! And, the offerings in the case(fudge, caramels, etc.) are super yummy. Chocolate covered caramel filled pretzel anyone? Giant smarties? Pop rocks? Um, yes please. They also have ice cream, but I haven’t tried that(and if you are tempted I’d suggest the gelato place instead).

Toffee fudge is fantastic. Otherwise this place isn’t anything other than an ordinary candy store… Nothing stuck out.

A basic overpriced candy store. They would close in a month in a more competitive market. Pick up your ring pops at the Dollar Tree and jtreat yourself across the street to an egg cream or phosphate at Lyons Drug Store’s old-fashioned soda fountain.
