I’ve always loved this place for its scones, olive bread, and homemade granola. I was there for lunch the other day, and their chicken salad salad was great. We are lucky to have such a great local bakery – good food and comfy atmosphere.

I’m not a big fan of their cupcakes but their coffee is fabulous. It would be awesome if your day starts with their coffee.

Quaint place, good ambiance. The food is creative and certainly tasty enough for return visits. Statesboro needs more places like this.

Great little place in Statesboro! Best bread and sweets! Brunch is a home run! If you love good coffee this is the place. They serve local Three Tree brew.

Went there after my lunch at another restaurant was horrible. Had cup of soup that was good. Guy waiting on me was nice enough. You order and then they will bring it to your table, Got a blondie to eat after lunch. It was hard as a brick on the outside. Had definitely been sitting out. Inside, the flavor was good. Bathroom was past disgusting! Could not even bring myself to use it eventhough I had to go. Got the 3rd star because of the quality and taste of soup.

We are long time customers of Sugar Magnolia, and the last time we went in things just seemed different. As we now live abroad, we visit once a year to fill our tanks with their delicious food. This year the coffee was bland and the breakfast sandwiches greasy and tasteless. Maybe there is new ownership? The cheese rolls are now much larger than before, so we thought that maybe someone new bought the place. Also, not a carrot cake in sight. We’ll definitely be back next year and hope to find our old faithful.

I love this place. They make many things from scratch, including the orange juice, which they just use oranges, sugar, and water. Their pizza is great and their lemon bars are to die for! I would go more often if I could.

Very matter of fact bakery. Not a huge variety, but they have the basics and it’s pretty good. Coffee selection is regular or decaf, self serve from a hot pot. It’s nice that they have sitting area in the front, so you can bring your pets. Probably won’t go back, but it’s worth trying out for yourself, if you don’t want specialty coffees.

The focaccia is to die for. Also, you really have to appreciate any restaurant named with grateful dead lyrics, bakery puns, and their home in the deep south in mind! If you want to try a lovely place with delicious desserts and savory lunch offerings, Sugar Magnolia cannot be beat!

Lovely little bakery with very nice service and a good selection of items. It’s not your typical sweet shop; they have a stronger focus on savory. Think breads, focaccia, quiche, pizza, bear claws, sandwiches, ham & cheese rolls, crumb cake, and scones. I personally love their scones which have the perfect crispy on the outside, dense yet moist inside texture. Chocolate chip and cranberry orange are my favorites. The pizza on Thursdays and Fridays is very good, yet a little pricey. It gets crowded on farmers market Saturdays, but you can get things to go.

Today was my first experience at Sugar Magnolia and it certainly won’t be my last. I was telling a friend of mine about the brownie(«dense chocolate with rich chocolate chips throughout») and she laughed and said, «what… Are you on the Food Network or something?» It’s pretty rare that food brings me practically to tears but the brownie totally did. Amazing. And I got pizza for dinner, too. Oh. My. Heck. So great. Pizza was amazing– crust was light and crisp! Just yummy.

Local place that pays attention to quality of the food being served. Chicken salad is delicious on a salad or as a sandwich. Chocolate chip cookies are the best I have ever eaten. Breads are baked fresh and are always tasty. Rotating menu of breads offered during the week. Closed Sunday and Monday — so Monday is always when I am craving it! Pizza night on Thursday and Friday — great tasting crust. I have never had a bad item off their menu.

A local place for locals, they use fresh ingredients and make their food from scratch. Good stuff!

Stopped by here on a whim for a quaint café before leaving Georgia. I’m always a sucker for a cute mom and pop restaurant and with a name like Sweet Magnolia and a #1 rating on Unilocal, well I just couldn’t help myself! I thought I was lost when the GPS told me to turn left, it was this huge building that didn’t look anything like a restaurant but something told me to just keep driving and low and behold a little further back the bakery came into view. The perfect picture of a country café. After glancing at other patrons plates I quickly decided on a waffle. I’ve been on a hunt for the perfect waffle lately and I do believe they are I the top running, they had three flavors to choose from; buttermilk, honey or wheat. I went with buttermilk with a side of strawberry jam… Pure fluffy, sweet bliss! My only complaint here was the gentleman working the counter seemed overwhelmed and confused, I had to ask him twice for him to remember my water and cookie. I could understand if it were busy but 30 minutes to closing at 2pm it was very manageable. Either way, I will be visiting again!

Staff are pleasant and helpful. The soup was great! Mom said there’s too much salt in chicken salad and she wishes she told them no olives. It’s very echoey in here and the frig is loud but enjoyed the experience all the same. Nice outdoor eating area.

I love Sugar Magnolia and especially their brunch. The fruit/bread/cheese plate is wonderful, very fresh and done well. We have also had their quiche and biscuits and gravy which are all very good. They are very busy at brunch but we have always been able to finding seating. When looking for fresh bread they are the place to go. I highly recommend!

The best kept secret in Statesboro! Everything here is good My personal high points are the roasted turkey breast sandwich(fresh carved Turkey!), pizza night Thursday & Friday, and Saturday night burger night is heaven! The grassfed beef makes a big difference and if the special of the week doesn’t strike your fancy there are plenty of topping options! Give them a try if you’ve been before. Baked goods are also decent but not quite the star here

From the name I was expecting more of a sweetshop style bakery but this place is not like that as all. However, it is a café for sure. When we walked in the place smelled amazing! They were serving fresh carved turkey sandwiches for lunch and the smell filled the whole place. They have lots of seating available and the woman at the counter was nice. My friend got the chewy cake and I used my check in offer through Unilocal for a free cookie. I chose a chocolate chip cookie and we shared. Her chewy cake was kind of dry and not very chewy. My cookie was just a nice chocolate chip cookie. It was a little small which was fine since it was free. It tasted like one of those peperidge farm cookies. I would love to go back and try this place for lunch or dinner since that is what everyone is raving about(and that’s what smelled so good!) I did like that they sold other products there as well. You can buy a dozen farm fresh eggs right out of the dairy case.
