Golden Palace Chinese Take Out

The vegetarian «beef» is excellent.

Against my better judgement I decided to have lunch here. Why? Because there’s no fool like an old fool.
First off these people do not have a grasp of the English language OR pretend they don’t. I suspect the latter. I ordered chicken in garlic sauce, brown rice and specified NO sugar or corn starch to be used. I received a bowl of oily chicken and disgusting greasy fried rice covered in brown sauce. I pushed it back and said this is not what I ordered. I had to tell a little kid behind the counter what I wanted and he yelled something to the cook and a few minutes later received basically the same exact thing.
And here’s the mistake I made. I ate it as I was hungry and needed to eat something. And it was vile. Greasy, sweet and slimy. After 4 or 5 tastes I just threw it out and vowed to never return. And I won’t. An hour later I was sick. All day.

Food is not bad but the only problem is they keep messing up the orders, and when you call them the guy speaks barely any english. Ordered from Seamless, the order was short on pieces specified on seamless, and they gave me tea instead of coke, and claimed it was not on the order, when it clearly stated «coke». The prices are suppose to be the same, but they rip you off on the quantity if you order online. The guy on the phone did not want to deal with me and told me to call Seamless, what kinda service is that?

Everything here is bland and disappointing. Mediocre at best.

For take out chinese food, it’s my favorite in the area so far. I haven’t seen the actual place, I’ve only ordered for delivery, so I can’t speak as to the cleanliness or ambiance. The family deal is a great price, about 23 bucks for a large soup, an appetizer, and 2 entrees (from a limited menu but pretty good for the basics) and white rice. Scallion pancakes are really good, chow fun soup is good, szechuan beef, general tsos, all good, and the best egg rolls I’ve had in a long time. Delivery times are also really fast, the guy was a little snippy once but it was a holiday and it was raining so whatever. Oh also online ordering is fast and easy.

My family orders from here all the time because they’re quick and it’s right down the block. However, I think it’s greasy and usually bland. I had chicken with broccoli and brown rice last night and today my stomach is paying for it. I’ve never experienced heartburn or indigestion before and it feels like my insides are going to explode. NOT FUN!!!
