Yummy food and good service. The personal pizza is great. Also like their picatta.

A few weeks ago, I came here for a party where hubbs and I sampled lots of food. Came back today for their Weds-Thurs buy one-get one special. Their pizza, which we had last time was great, and their penne vodka was delicious. Garlic bread is very flavorful and the eggplant parm was also yummy. Service was good too and the staff was wonderfully pleasant.

As out of towners we came to NYC for the Thanksgiving Parade. Afterwards we were exploring the city and wanted to try the Staten Island ferry. A quick google search and we found a list of restaurants who were serving Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. The first option was too far, the second didn’t have a reservation available for a few hours and the third was Di Sara. They were affordable too at only $ 30/person for a 4 course meal. My wife, daughter and I arrived a few minutes late to which it was no problem. We felt so welcomed right away and were told our daughter would eat free. The food was out of this world. The atmosphere and the staff were exceptional. Needless to say that every trip to NY will include a repeat visit to Di Sara.

discovered this place 3 weeks ago and have been there or ordered out 4 more times! Dinner was great! Ordered chicken marsala, prime rib and calamari. All were tasty. We ordered pizza for delivery twice. The pizza is so different from any others I’ve eaten locally. The crust is crispy and have a texture to it… maybe it’s garlic and semolina… not sure, but whatever it is, it’s AWESOME!

We had the chicken artichokes and the filet picatta, both were excellent ! The price was good for what we got; it was definitely worth the short excursion off of Hylan Blvd.

Had Shrimp Risotto along with three family and friends having 5 course dinner specials. Lights went in and out in Kitchen the day I went, but chefs and wait staff somehow still managed to whip up pretty decent meals :-)

Tucked away in a very suburban-seeming, residential neighborhood is this little Italian restaurant with a family-run feel. The hostess seemed slightly grumpy when we walked in — maybe because it was slightly late(around 9:30pm) and it wasn’t too busy? — but warmed up as our meal went on. They’ve got a full bar, but we shared a pitcher of beer, which was reasonably priced. As far as food, we got a rice ball, the mozzarella sticks, and shared a pizza. All the food was really good, with authentic, home-cooked flavor. The entrees seemed pretty pricy, considering, but they did have some great prix-fixe dinner specials listed which just might tempt me into returning.

We had heard about this establishment, and decided to try it. It is in a difficult location to get to in a residential neighborhood with no other stores around. The is a small bar as you enter, and some booths and tables in the main room. There is another room in the back, and some outdoor tables as well We ordered the off the full dinner special menu. Soup or salad, appy, main course, dessert and coffee. The menu lets you choose from about a dozen appetizers or four different soups. Salad was first. I chose a house salad of mixed greens which came with a sweet Asian type dressing. Pretty good. My wife chose a Caesar salad which was made with what appeared to be iceberg lettuce. The dressing was tasty, but was a but salty. Appetizers we chose were Crab cake and Mussels Marinara. The crab cake was on the bland side but did have a good bit of crab meat. It was accompanied by a cocktail like sauce. The Mussels Marinara were tasty and it was a nice sized portion. For a main course I ordered Veal Parm and Spaghetti which was average. My wife ordered Chicken Marsala, with potato and vegetable. The Marsala sauce was flavorful but again seemed to have too much salt. Dessert consisted of a few choices but we settled on Rice Pudding with caramel which was average, and an ice cream roll with vanilla ice cream inside of a thin chocolate cake. Ok I guess. Service was attentive but sporadic due to the fact that one waiter appeared to me serving the entire restaurant for a good portion of the meal. Pricing I thought, was high for a neighborhood restaurant, with full dinner menu ranging from $ 25 to $ 37. The food was average and you can probably do better at many of the restaurants on Hylan Blvd. All in all, the meal wasn’t bad but there is better food and better value on the island in more convenient locations
