South Lake Tahoe, CA
I had not been here for a while as it was going downhill with the management. Stopped in after a day of kauaking and was pleased to see things had changed.
The food is bar food so expect something along those lines. It has improved from the last time I was here though. Wings and nachos are my go to but they have a fairly extensive menu.
It does get loud in there, especially during major sporting events but it also stays lively. They of course have a killer happy hour from 10PM to close. Think I saw one from 4PM to 6PM also.
It is a non smoking bar so kids can eat there.

Their pizza is great and fully loaded! I was greatly appreciative of their late hours– even on a Sunday. The atmosphere is pretty laid-​back but can get noisy pretty quickly. Sitting at the bar and trying to eat is a little difficult due to the built-​in table games you have to contend with– but there are other seating options.

We decided to try Mott Canyon Tavern and Grill, based upon the reviews and proximity to the place we were staying. We were greeted and seated by a pleasant woman.
We had a very difficult time attempting to have a conversation over the very loud music and very loud men sitting at the bar. We couldn’t hear the waitress as she attempted to ask for our drink orders.
After only a few minutes of tolerating the noise, we decided to go elsewhere for dinner. I think this place has good potential, but the mixture of loud bar patrons, loud music, and the design acoustics of the place will stop us from returning. Unfortunately I can’t comment on the food quality, as we didn’t stay long enough to eat.

This place to most probably isn’t anything special but as a tourist in the area it was awesome to be able to go to a relaxed local place and grab some very cheap beers. Cool game options (pinball, video golf, etc) as well.

Up the hill from our hotel so we decided to try it. We didn’t realize it would be so close. This seems more like a locals spot. Families having Sunday lunch. Bar was pretty full. And they have Oakland Raiders signs.
We had sandwiches. They were large and decent. Not the best I’ve had but pretty good. Good enough that I would recommend them and I would come back.

I would love to give this place a better rating but when you can’t sit and talk or hear yourself think because of the absolutely terrible music… Thought I was in a bar in Compton.
So last time in here and I am a local. Bartender nice but the sound congrats out of the speakers makes me want to stick an ice pick in my eye!

So, I’m not one for giving bad reviews, and the service is always great here.
But. We’ve been going here for along time (10 years), but not so much anymore.
The food is horrendous now, and it used to be so great.
My wife and I just split a sandwich (10pm), and the meat was bad, and when I say bad, I puked there, she puked when we got home, and it’s been both of us since then. Won’t share the other gory details, but needless to say it tasted awful and felt worse. Slots were stingy too. If it wasn’t for the sweet bartender and cute fish this place would be better as an insurance payoff and a zero star review.

The first time we ate here in 2013, the food was amazing. The nachos were so delicious, I actually tried to replicate them at home.
The last 2 times we have gone, we left disappointed. It seems like maybe they are using a different meat now? Not sure. But the chicken was gross, cubed shaped, tasteless and rubbery.
We even tried them with pork on our last visit and it was also tasteless and just overall not good.
I ordered the chicken soft tacos on our last visit too and it was that same weird chicken.
The service has been fine every time.
But we won’t be back.

Good choice for Sunday football watching in Tahoe. Good crab and artichoke dip with real crab. Just a hint of spice from the jalapeños. Salmon burger was tasty. Fish and chips were just so-​so. All-​in-​all pretty fair food.

On this visit to Tahoe, we were looking for a Golden Tee Golf game and found it here. I have to admit we were surprised by the great food, the good service and the atmosphere was fun. I can recommend the burger and the pizza was also delicious, however, the Buffalo’d Cauliflower was our favorite. We’ll definitely be back again.

Bloody Mary nice and thick, spicy.
Prime rib sandwich w/​a jus delicious. Horseradish was nice and crisp with just enough bite.
Chili was superb, chunky, flavorful, hearty, even amount of meat.
Thank you Leo first a great first experience here.
We will definitely be back.

The food is excellent, great atmosphere, drinks are always great. Missy our waitress and bartender has a great attitude and is an awesome server! We have a chalet in South Lake for 19 years we have recommended Mott to all our guests and especially our family. No other place chills there taps from keg to tap! Highly recommended

We found this place by luck we check in to our hotel and all the restaurants we’re closed after a long drive from SF I must say as a Chef the food was one of the best bar food I had in a long time and the bartender was amazing. So if in the area stop by and see this place is great.

Just moved to the area and our server Missy was amazing! Feeling a warm welcome here for sure! Food was good and fun environment. Wings were especially delicious and only gripe is our salad was drenched with dressing. Will be back soon!

I am a long time local and can’t even count the number of times I’ve enjoyed meals at MC. However after having the chicken taco salad, I couldn’t get home fast enough to hit the toilet. Called to complain and owner basically said it wasn’t his food. Ahh, yes it was. Chicken was rubbery and tasteless. It wasn’t just me either. Sister had the exact same thing I did and she had exactly the same thing happen to her as soon as she got home too.
Would have been nice if he would have offered to make it right, just said sorry. Won’t be going there again.

Can’t say enough good things about Mark and Yvette! The food is always good, consistently, the bartenders are attentive and friendly and of course who doesn’t love the gaming and full bar. From 10 pm till close they have two for one deals on their drinks– a double for the price of a single or two drinks for the price of one. Locals and tourist alike can always be found frequenting this great Tahoe establishment.

Mott Canyon is great especially if you’re hungry and it’s after 8pm in Stateline. Burgers are decent, sandwiches are good, drinks are strong. I would say it was a step up from standard bar food. Everyone who works there is really nice as well.

Großartige amerikanische Taverne, sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Am Rande von South Lake Tahoe gelegen, aber zur Not kann man auch zu Fuß hin — haben wir auch gemacht. Äußerst freundliche Bedienung, und das Essen ist richtig lecker. Wir hatten Spare Ribs und Steak Sandwich, jeweils mit French Fries. Alles frisch gemacht. Dazu süffige Biere. Preislich absolut in Ordnung. Wer möchte, kann auf dem Flatscreen Baseballspiele oder Tennis etc. sehen.
Würden hier jederzeit wieder herkommen, um einen netten lockeren Abend zu verbringen.
