I want to like this place, I really do. We visit Mont Bleu frequently and it is very convenient but they are rude and the food is not good. The first time we went we sat down there was a booger on my napkin. I was so disappointed because I had been trying to convince my spouse the place was good. Once we went and I wanted a breakfast burrito but I don’t like chorizo. They would not add sausage, chorizo or nothing. I had a vegetarian burrito that day which was weird. The last time we went we wanted nachos but with nacho cheese(makes sense right?) the woman said they didn’t have nacho cheese. We said that the Irish nachos has nacho cheese so could they please just add the cheese we would pay extra. The lady was rude and said she couldn’t do it. Like come on, just put some nacho cheese on there. Was it worth losing a customer over it? It’s where room service comes from too. The people who bring the food to the room are fantastic but the food quality is bad. In a way it was good because it forced us to find somewhere else to eat and there are a lot of good place to eat outside the Mont Bleu but café del sol was rude and I felt embarrassed in front of my spouse that someone would talk to me that way over nacho cheese.

This morning before going to work I decided to try out breakfast at the Café del Soul located at the Montbleu casino and resort in Stateline, Nevada. It was pretty tasty typical standard breakfast consisting of eggs over medium, crispy hash browns and honey glazed ham. No bread or preserves for me. I liked the fact that the super sweet waitress Ernestina, took the initiative and offered me substitutions in lieu of my bread that I cannot eat. Ernestina is the best and she needs a raise!!! Overall I was happy with the food and the ambiance. I felt truly like a tourist in town that I live, which is a big plus in my book. I need to mention the coffee. Usually I don’t drink it. If so it is a gourmet organic sustainable grown coffee. Theirs was better then expected but still cheap type of restaurant coffee. Thanks Ernestina for your great service!!!

Below average food. I ordered the shrimp po boy. The bread was hard. The shrimps were overcooked, making it almost impossible to eat the sandwich. I ended up only eating the shrimp drenched in Tabasco and ketchup. My fiancé ordered the steak and eggs plate with blueberry pancakes on the side. His hash browns were cold and the blueberry pancakes were flavorless. However, the manager discounted our steak and eggs due to the long wait, that we never even complained about! So that’s kind of cool!

Long wait time and then longer to get your food. Below average food. We ordered from the breakfast menu and our food was much worse than what you would find at any IHOP or Danny’s while higher priced. Overall a bad experience that we will be sure not to repeat

Average restaurant with average food. Price was reasonable. Spaghetti meatballs came with cold meatballs and garlic bread. Someone must have forgotten to warm them up, because the noodles and the sauce were warm. Cobb salad was fine. Huge portions. Artichoke dip was surprisingly good. French onion soup was rather salty, but that’s expected. In a word, average.

Worst place I’ve ever eaten in. Café de Soul smells like cigarettes, waiter would not bring us drinks and states that bartender won’t listen to him and send us to order drinks from the bar separately. Service was slow, food terrible. Never again! Wasted money, time and good mood.

*****NOMORE99CENTTACO’S****** last year they DOUBLED the price of the Corona’s and Patron shots during happy hour~ As a local I am so dissatisfied that management couldn’t see a great thing! This place used to be hoppin’ during 99 cent taco time now we walk in on a friday at 5 and it’s EMPTY. The hostess says«yea, it’s cause we don’t do the taco special»!!! WOWWOWWOW! This hurts their employees also with the lack of tips!!! Does a corporate owned casino need $$$$ that bad?

Café Del Soul offers 99 cents tacos everyday from 3pm — 6pm! I had to try it when I found out. I decided to order 1 pork taco and 1 chicken taco. The tacos have a generous amount of meat inside and definitely a lot of white onion. For the price of 99 cents, I think the tacos are a great deal! I really enjoyed both the pork and chicken taco. We also ordered a regular Ceasar salad, which was delicious. I liked how the dressing was not too heavy but just the right amount. There was a lot of croutons. Overall, I’d come back to Café Del Soul.

Wanted to try someplace new, big mistake. Waited 30 minutes for a table(not a big deal even though it was Sunday and didn’t look busy) but once we sat down it got worse. I asked the person who seated us to bring us some chips as my toddler was getting fussy, he brought it in about five minutes in a tiny to go box which seemed odd. We waited about 15 minutes and still no one asked for our order, nor did I see any other waiters in the entire dining area in that time. Finally we got up and went to tell the three people standing around the check in desk we were leaving as we’ve already waited 45 minutes and didn’t even get to place our order. You’d think at this point a manager or someone would be called but no. If you want good service and food go down the road to Agava Azul, they’ve never failed me yet.

The food is very tasty. Some of the negatives are that its loud because its located on the casino floor and you’re also breathing in disgusting cigarette smoke while your eating. Another negative is its pretty expensive. And the last negative is if you’re ordering to go they charge you an extra 50 cents for EACH item ordered to go, including drinks. So it really adds up.

Do not eat here if you are hung over and want breakfast. We waited an hour for a table and another for our food. Every table was complaining about the awful service. Even the waitress was trying to convince us to leave! It was new years day at one of the biggest party spots in CA and they were just not even caring.

I can’t say anything good about Café Del Soul. We went there for lunch on Thanksgiving day while checking out the casino. We had one appetizer removed from our bill and reluctantly ate and paid for a couple others because we just wanted to sit and relax for a while. As I paid my bill, I told the girl that she should inform the manager that they need to take a serious look at the menu. Denny’s has them beat hands down. Oh yeah, and the service was non existent.

Came here because I heard about the Happy Hour Special($ 2 fish tacos and 99 cent chicken or pork tacos and 99cent Margaritas) Its located inside MontBleu Casino which was their downfall. First off the hotel is smoke filled with very bad air purification so it hits you like a wall as soon as you come in. Just returning from Vegas you can really tell how bad the air circulation is in this place comparatively. I instantly got a headache but we thought wee could at least try what they had to offer since everyone said it was good. You need to have a players card to get the deal so go get yours before you come in or come prepared. I thought the special would be in the bar and it would be a pretty quick thing but they seat you in the restaurant and you have to wait for a server which wasn’t fast at all. We finally got a guy come and ask us what we’d like to drink and we told him water and we wanted 2 regular tacos and 2 fish, so we wouldn’t have to wait for the water to get there and then order. Good call cause it took a good 10 minutes for them to arrive. They are the tiny street tacos which I expected the pork one had the most meat the chicken one was ok. The 2 fish tacos were not that good and the fish was mostly fried batter with no fish so big fail for this place. We ate them and left immediately to go outside and get fresh air. I doubt I will even come back to this Casino or anything inside it after this experience. Hopefully they get some better air purification or just make the place smell better.

We were a party of 8, celebrating my fiancé’s birthday. We were seated promptly and the wait/staff immediately brought out waters, before taking our drink orders(wow! We’ve had to ask at other locations due to the drought) Our waitress was FABULOUS!!! She never hesitated with our requests or refills… her and the busers were on top of keeping our tables uncluttered and neat! Very rare!!! Our favorite dishes: — Triple Shrimp Platter(only $ 13.99) — Chicken Alfredo Pasta –BLTA Sandwich Warning! Their food portions are huge!!! One of their salads can be split amongst 3 people and all their plates can be shared between 2 if you’re not much of a big eater. Will definitely come back :)

Not bad oasis in a smoke filled casino. Salad is huge filled with shrimp. It’s an incredible bargain for senior Thursday as I only paid $ 7 for shrimp louis salad. Fish taco is a fish stick wrapped in 2 corn tortilla. Even for $ 2 it’s at best mediocre any joe can construct. $ 1 pork taco was slow cooked and flavorful tho.

The main restaurant inside the casino. Made multiple visits here. Staff at the host desk can be fast but more then enough not. Most recent trip once we got seated table service was fairly prompt and friendly. We didn’t take to much longer to mull over the menu. Ordered the tacos on special from 2 – 6 daily and water. Water, plates, and utensils were brought to the table. Water was refilled fairly frequent. Tacos came out quick. We ordered five beef and five chicken. Tacos come in choice of three meats beef, chicken, or pork. Nothing stellar about the tacos with fair balance protein, peppers, and onions. Two sauces provided nearly the same color. One slightly lighter, spicier and runnier then the other. Both good though to add some kick. Bill settlement was quick. Good: decent street taco, spice, and price. Decent service. Bad: even at five tacos one can feel hungry. I come for the value. May leave a little empty but still worth it.

We were staying at the MonteBlue and decided to try their happy hour for 99 cents street tacos(beef, chicken and pork) and margaritas. They have fish tacos for $ 2 each. Also we end up ordering a pitcher of their house margaritas for $ 6. The service was a little slow for a Saturday night, the restaurant had a nice crowd but not full. if you looking for a quick bite, I wouldn’t come here. I might come back for their tacos, but the other dishes on the menu is a little overprice for the quality. I understand we are in Tahoe.

I’m surprised with the 2.5 stars rating they have when all I can think of are good things about this place. We were staying at the MontBleu Resort and it was just convenient to grab a bite inside the hotel. Although the restaurant was like a ghost town at 1pm on a Sunday, the menu looked appetizing enough to convince us to try it out. I ordered their FISHANDCHIPS and was pleasantly surprised to see a huge piece of nicely battered white fish on my basket. It was crisp on the outside and flaky inside. Very fresh and tasty! The fries it came with was ok while the coleslaw was just alright. I like their tartar sauce for dipping but I also enjoy eating my fish and chips with malt vinegar so I asked for some on the side. It really turned out to be one fantastic meal. Meanwhile, their SOUTHERNFRIEDCHICKEN is a meal that two people can probably share. Served with steamed veggies and mashed potatoes, there were 4pcs. of chicken on the plate(leg, thigh, breast, and wing). They forgot the gravy on the mashed potatoes but our server fixed it in a jiffy and served it to us on a large gravy boat. I don’t know what was in their gravy but I swear I thought I tasted some sausage and bacon in there, it was so gooooood! The chicken was tasty by itself but with the gravy, it made it even better. I would probably steer clear from their OMELETTES and stick with their Southern dishes. The hubby ordered one but it was overcooked and tasted ordinary. I also had a taste of their PANCAKES which my sister ordered. Again, serving was ginormous but tasted really delicious! If you have kids, you’ll be pleased to know they have a kids’ menu. My daughter got their CHEESEQUESADILLA and finished it all. That’s a good sign in my book! SERVICE was a bit overbearing at first since we were the only guests there. They asked if everything was okay almost every 3 minutes. Really. But as soon as other patrons filled the restaurant, it got better. They still went out of their way to make sure we got taken cared of and we appreciate that. Would I come back when I’m in town? For their fish and chips, I will! 3.5 stars!
