I like Tigin’s. The atmosphere is awesome, but drinks and beers can be a little pricey. I suggest a seat by the gas fire place during the winter months. Also, the perfect location on Bedford Street in downtown Stamford.

Great atmosphere as far as a peppy upbeat staff. the place has authentic Irish décor throughout. I felt comfortable just entering the establishment. The food was good decent prices on the food. It didn’t take long at all to get service at the table. I would definitely return. The only downside was parking. I managed to squeeze into a parking lot in back that is free on sundays and evenings during the week. I can see this being a hassle.

I’m a frequent customer at Tigin’s and today I received the worst service. The brunette waitress was extremely rude. We bought drinks and she asked us to move so that people who are ordering food could sit there. We then said we’ll order food. I received a drink with someone else’s lipstick on the glass, she tried clearing our table before we were done, and she asked for a tip before we even paid the bill! We decided not to leave a tip because of her rude behavior. She said«you don’t have to come back here.» I didn’t see any of the other tables receive the same treatment. My table was 3 people of color and I’m absolutely appalled by her behavior and she’s right… I don’t have to come back here. I felt personally attacked by her and I’ve never been treated such way in a restaurant in my life. I didn’t think Stamford was a racist area… but tonight it felt like it. This restaurant clearly has no class or respect for their customers if this is the way their staff is going to act. They have lost several customers because of this. I will continue to tell my friends and co-workers not to go to Tigins and why, I wish i could give this place negative stars. That kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Update: Never received a private message from the manager(Marie P.) who commented on this review saying she would. I’ve sent a private message and I’ve received nothing back. If I ever receive a message I will update this review. But that seems very unlikely. They don’t care about their customers and this a true sign of it.

Solid tasty food — not gourmet or spectacularly memorable, but good. Got a full-size fish & chips and would’ve been fine with the smaller order. I actually like the rambling bar feel and dark atmosphere. The only complaint is that our waitress didn’t seem to know the menu. We weren’t asking about anything super-obscure…I think we asked what«colcannon» is(on top of their shepherds pie) and she had to check.

This review is based on an incident that happened this past Friday night. My friend and I walked into Tigin around 9 p.m. and went to the back bar to order a drink. As always, I was looking to drink an IPA and start the night off right. After browsing a few selections, I ordered a Lagunitas IPA and after taking a sip of it, knew it was skunked right away. I asked my friend to taste it to make sure I wasn’t crazy and he agreed. When the bartender came back around to ask if everyone was doing ok I told her I hate to complain, but felt the beer was skunked and asked if I could order a 2 roads instead. She rolled her eyes and came over to me and said«Have you ever had an IPA before?» I told her I drink IPAs all the time and this one doesn’t taste right. She had a confused look on her face and I asked her to try it. She took a straw and dangled it over her head and tried it. Obviously, it was fine to her. She then asked the other patrons around me and another bartender if anyone else has had a problem with the Lagunitas tonight. She is in her element. By this point, I was feeling embarrassed and just downright thirsty and asked her if I could just get a new beer please. She clearly was not prepared for someone to challenge her and got offended and asked the patrons around me if she was being out of line. It was uncomfortable to say the least. She filled me up a new beer and I asked for the check. As my friend and I drank our beers, the bartender had three huge employees come by to stare us down and try to intimidate us. We were then asked to leave which we were getting ready to do anyway, as soon as we finished our beers. Being in the service industry for twelve years and having common sense, when a customer tells you he doesn’t like the beer he’s drinking and wants a new one, you apologize, dump out the beer and get a new one. That’s it. It all could have been avoided if the bartender didn’t take it upon herself to try and humiliate me for no apparent reason. Hopefully, this woman grows up and learns how to treat people and especially customers with respect. I’ll be across the street at Brick next time. Boo this woman.

Great service and atmosphere, cheese dip, fish tacos & chicken quesadilla made with the boxty are all amazing! Great bar in the winter with fireplaces!

Always a great time! I continue to stop here every time I’m near the area. Trivia night one of my favorite around the country. Especially try the fish tacos with a Black and tan!

Don’t go for the service. Nice cozy winter atmosphere but the waiter will ignore you for the better part of the night. Just be prepared. If you aren’t in a hurry it is worth the stop.

Ive been here a fee times. very busy with limited seating. We had to fit 5 large guys at a small table of 4. Was very noisy with trivia. Food was typical bar/pub food. The noise made us leave early. Beer selection was good.

Lovely food. If you love irish fried food this is the place. Try beer collection. Hosts are super friendly. Food menu despite of being short is great. They have good collection of Irish whiskies. I recommend Pint of Guinness with 2 Ginger whisky

Good for some beers with friends. Nice to stand outside in the summer and fall. Good luck trying to get the bartenders attention. They are constantly milling around doing nothing. Watch for darts while walking down the hallway.

I love this place. Especially during nice weather when we are outside. The food here is great and a nice twist on Irish pub food. You have to try the Chicken Boxty Quesadilla, it’s incredible. My only complaint would be a waiter named Ahmed. He gives off a very rude vibe and seems as though he just doesn’t like anyone. It’s odd, because every other server we have had has been super friendly! Anyway, I love this place and it’s a great place to go out and just enjoy a nice day and a fun night.

This place is cool and always busy. My biggest issue is that the service mostly sucks. If you are being helped by the manager, you are in good hands. However, their wait staff sucks. They forget parts of your order, don’t bring water, don’t bring napkins, and have a terrible attitude. On the plus side, my sliders were freakin’ delicious and they have an amazing beer menu. I am moving to Stamford in a month or so, so I expect I will be visiting TIgin a lot. It is not the worst place ever, I just wish it were a little better.

I had wanted to try tigins, and after work one day my friends and I tried it. I LOVE Guiness, and when I saw a whole section of their menu devoted to my favorite beer, I was all in. It was dissapointing. The waitress popped a huge attitude with us in minutes, and told us the kitchen closed at 8, which would have been fine if she wasn’t so rude about it. We ordered their Irish breakfast shot because we were so hungry we wanted the bacon garnish it was supposed to come with. It was overpriced and there was no bacon. All in all, the drinks were all right, but it’s not enough to get me to go back there.

We were in town participating in a tournament at the Marriott and were in a hurry to try to watch the New England Revolution game. Tigin listed the game on their website, so we walked ten minutes to get there. When we arrived, they couldn’t find the TV remote for several minutes, and then discovered they didn’t subscribe to the channel that was broadcasting the match. It’s fine and understandable if you’re not going to have every MLS game on TV(I’m sure the demand isn’t that high), but don’t advertise something you can’t actually offer. It caused us to go out of our way and miss the rest of the game since we didn’t bother with a backup plan.

I’ve only been here twice. My first experience was with John who’s the absolute best; he is professional, nice, helpful, and fun to talk with. My second experience was horrendous. It wasn’t too busy, and the bartender kept helping her friends and totally ignoring my boyfriend and I. After failing to get her attention around 3 times, she eventually just sat at the bar with her friends– and nobody replaced her! I was so annoyed– if I wanted to be ignored I’d go into the city on a busy night. Not at all what you want from an Irish pub. The food, however, is why I give it 4 stars. SODELICIOUS. Everything I had– from the chips [fries] to the fish tacos– was absolutely outstanding. The beer is also delicious. And they do fill your big wine glass up pretty high. My advice? Get a table and ask for John.

Stopped in around 6 or so on a Saturday and was quickly greeted by one of the servers outside who offered us a table and took our drink order right away. The servers outside were extremely friendly and attentive. The patio is nice and spacious but popular as well. Instead of getting big entrees, we opted to just share a few of the bar snacks and appetizers. I am typically not a fan of Irish pub fare but I have to say the sliders were very good and the fish tacos were excellent. The chicken stuffed jalapenos were good as well but I didn’t really like the taste of the sauce that was on them(but I think that is more just personal preference). The hummus on the other hand was pretty disappointing– bland and nearly tasteless. The draught list was good and included some local beers as well. I tried the Pumpkin Ale from theHalf Full brewery in Stamford which I really liked. They also seemed to be very psyched about now having Yuenling(original, light, and the black and tan) on draft, which being from PA I felt obligated to have at least one of. I enjoyed my experience at Tigin and will definitely return next time I am in the area.

I think their food creativity for an Irish bar was impressive. Here are some elements of what I had… smoked salmon bites with fresh smoked salmon, capers and a cream cheese sauce on a dough like circle thingy, this was a nice change from your regular bar app. The chicken quesadilla thingy, were filled with chicken, cheeses and cilantro, I love cilantro, and surrounded in a dumpling-like textured wrap, topped with diced tomatoes, red onions and drizzled with sour cream. This quesadilla was really tasty but lacked that crispness that generally provides you with that toothsome feel. But all in all a very creative take on the regular quesadilla. The bartender slash manager was very attentive to our needs and kept busy by checking in on all the other patrons. I would definitely come back to try their other fare.

This is an update to my previous review. It was good to hear from the restaurant as they were concerned about my previous experience on St. Patrick’s Day. They reached out to me and I agreed to try them again. The restaurant was not super busy like last time. It was like night and day, literally. We arrived pretty early in the evening on a Friday afternoon. I was able to grab a table very quickly and my drink order was delivered in a timely fashion. The food was quite enjoyable too. We ordered fish & chips, cheese wedges, and chicken tenders. The staff checked in from time to time with us to make sure we were doing alright. They have tables outside during the summer but it was too hot out. We like being indoors with the AC on full blast. It was very comfortable sitting across from the big screen. I met with the manager as well and explained my experience. In the end it was really an isolated case that didn’t happen again. I gave them a benefit of a doubt and I’m glad I did because I had a very good experience the second time around. In fact she even knew our co-worker by name! I’m adding an extra star for a total of 4 for their improvement. I’ll be back again.
