The rice is always dry, burnt and hard. The chicken teriyaki doesn’t have much flavor. There is no soy or duck sauce.

I used to like this place because it’s one of the healthiest options at the food court. Never again! The food is fine for what it is, but they give you a heaping serving of vegetables and only a tiny bit of chicken.

Noodles sometimes old. But that’s the least of your worries, I’ve seen roaches run across their floor and if you have allergies beware! They use the same spatula to cook all the same meat!

I didn’t plan to have lunch at the mall food court, but ended up doing it as I had ~45 minutes to kill before my appointment at the Apple Store Genius Bar. Around 12:15 pm on a Thursday, this place seemed to be the busiest with a long line, while other kiosks were rather quiet. In the mood for some teriyaki, I quickly got in line. While waiting, I looked up this place on Unilocal which had somewhat disappointing ratings and reviews, but decided to stay and give it a try anyway. Like most other Japanese teriyaki kiosks, this is actually run by Chinese. One of the two middle-age cashier ladies took my order. She struck me as being compassionate, which I have to admit was very weird. There was just something special about her that made me feel instantly comfortable. The line moved slowly for a fast-food kiosk, probably because it was understaffed at this time of day — only two cooks. When I finally got to the«hibachi» section, one of the cooks greeted me with a huge smile and started speaking Chinese to me. «Wow, what a well-groomed Chinese cook!» I thought. Not feeling like socializing, I just smiled and nodded to him. After a couple«long» minutes, my beef teriyaki was finally done. At this kind of places, I always ask for extra teriyaki sauce. This time, before I could ask(or occasionally forget), he already offered some! How nice! Food itself was mediocre. Don’t expect too much more than satisfying an empty stomach, but you definitely get what you pay for. My only complaint is that beef was cut into usually small pieces that were a bit more work to eat.

I ordered beef teriyaki with noodles and it tasted like Chinese food. If I wanted Chinese food, I’d eat at a Chinese restaurant. The food wasn’t even halfway decent and doesn’t really fit the bill. I asked for hot sauce and got a sorry looking packet of mild sauce for egg rolls. I ordered an iced tea and I got Sprite instead. How could you mess that up? I would not come back here even if you paid me.

Fresh tasting teriyaki, rice & veggies… you’ve had it before.

Have you ever eaten Asian food at a mall before? Yeah, it’s the same thing. Ichiban fills the void and allows you to get your month’s worth of sodium content conveniently in one meal. Quick and tasty, it’s alright.

Located in the upscale Stamford Town Center, most of it’s traffic comes from the mall. good specials include chicken teriyaki, rice and veggies for 5.09. sub rice for fried rice or noodles for .50 extra. they also have a limited sushi menu. one plus is that the sushi is made to order, whereas most food court places have it pre made. prices are reasonable. all in all, a good lunch stop. 3.5 stars
