Roanoke Apple Farms

The apple season ended early this year.
All that was left were Golden Delicious… but thats fine! I got to pick apples while wearing a sports coat and loafers!
You pay for what you want to pick, then they give you a basket.
Then you pick a wagon… and head up the hill. It was super fun. I went with my Mom (who was wearing heels) and a family friend. It was very posh, and should have been photographed by Vogue for a fall fashion spread.
The orchard was very neat, and well kept. I had so much fun! After we picked our apples, we went back down to the little barn where you «check out». They also had home made donuts, cider, and some other bonus apple orchard items.
The walls were decorated with posters that kids had made as thank you cards to the farmer and his wife. Very cute.
For $ 21.00 I left with a gallon of cider, a dozen donuts, and a ½ bushel of apples. And plenty of great memories.
Everyone should dress up and go apple picking with their Mom.
