One of my favorite places to go in town they have the best Mexican specials! My favorite dishes are the fish tacos and the Chipotle wings. Mary the bartender and manager is so sweet and friendly. I have never had a bad meal there and they have the best pizza in town.

Wow don’t get the bad review. We live about 35 minutes away and make the trip every other month or so to this place. It is dark and not much on décor but the food is good. Pizza is excellent and pretty good sauce on the Italian food. Mexican food is very good, try the fish tacos, always check the specials board. Lately it seems they have been trying to offer something very healthy on the specials as well. Not A bad beer selection for a small place. Been hear probably 10 – 12 times. Fun and satisfying every time.

We were in town for the swap meet and decided to try this place because we tried the Chinese place down the street last year and it was terrible.
The place was super dark in the middle of the day, with a few very loud ppl at the bar. It took forever to place our order, we almost left while waiting.
The food was horrible. Maybe we should have gotten pizza because it has good reviews. We got a cheeseburger with onion rings and a tossed salad. The cheeseburger looked just not right from the beginning. It was terrible, it tasted like a McDonald’s burger. It was definitely a frozen patty. The tossed salad was ok, a litl different made with romaine instead of iceberg but whatever.
The bartender/​waitress, possibly named Mary, was driving behind the bar, not even trying to hide it, just drinking a big glass of beer. It was kind of a dive.
Oh well, next year probably another place on the same street…

A great place to grab a drink and have dinner, consistently great food. After going here about a dozen times I have nothing bad to say about J&D’s. Last time the owner made the effort and say thank you, after remembering our conversation we had with him a month prior.

Good pizza, decent food and great prices. It does get quite busy and backed up at times but they usually do a good job with their service and food. Parking on Main Street can be difficult. Overall a delicious place for dinner!

My husband and I stopped for a quick lunch on a Saturday. It’s a cozy, local place with a long bar and a handful of booths along the opposite wall. We were the only ones there at first, but then the bar started to fill up with people who were clearly regulars. The food was good; I had a Reuben sandwich and my husband had a grilled teriyaki chicken sandwich with really great fries. The kitchen forgot to put the cheese he asked for on his sandwich. And the service was extremely slow; it took 20 minutes for us to get our food after we ordered and there were no other orders ahead of us. The waitress, who also covered the bar, was very pleasant but didn’t hurry. I left with the impression that locals probably know her, go there frequently, and know what to expect. Out-​of-​towners, expecting a restaurant meal and service, will be somewhat disappointed.

This place is good. Just ate there. The service was great, and they have a good beer selection. The food is mediocre, and the pizza isn’t all that good, but the chicken quesadilla was really good. If you order a pizza just know that it is thick crust pan pizza, not thin. I didn’t notice if the menu mentioned that. Overall it’s a good place, and I would likely eat there again.

I have been to J&D three times in the past year and every time it was really really delicious. Burgers first two times and grilled cheese most recently with fries or coleslaw each time. The coleslaw is awesome. Pub food is my favorite type and I recommend this restaurant.
2015 Since first writing this have been back a few times. Still great.

I’ve been here many times. Service is good, but management doesn’t care. If your meal is prepared incorrectly, don’t expect a manager to visit. I’m afraid that the quality is going down every visit. I’m at the point where it’s not worth a visit. Regrettable, because I really liked it and the service is generally good.
