GETYOUR S**T TOGETHER, because tonight’s dinner was freaking UNSAT. Being a Marine(9th Marines /3dMarDIv Okinawa &1st Marines Horno) I was so looking forward to this, and the saltiness of the building and décor was exactly what I was looking forward to. There was only a handful of customers so being busy was no excuse. If you’re going to sell a «Semper Fi» steak it better be decent, but what you served was a gristly piece of meat that didn’t even beat the chow hall… So disappointed.

Wonderful dinner experience. We were looking for something new to try and did a Google search. Upon arriving and being so quickly seated, I immediately took in the ambience. The food was delicious. I recommend the Semper Fi(12 oz. NY strip) and the Mahi Mahi. I’m really looking forward to next time. Thanks!

Absolutely one of the best places to eat lunch if your a Marine! The walls are covered with mementos. The food was plentiful and worth the money. I suggest you try the bbq sauce!

This place could be better. But is definitely inexpensive and has good value for the area. I have mixed emotions about this place… it is a real dive bar but is steeped in Marine heritage… I don’t know how old this place is but it looks like it has been there forever. The food service was super week almost non existent. This place could be better. But is definitely inexpensive and has good value for the area.

You should go here to drink and look at the AWESOME police and militarily memorabilia. Maybe have a cigar on the patio but the food was not worth the price. I had a steak, which eventually came and was overcooked. It was too thinly cut and dried out on the grill. The baked potato was small. I was disappointed in the food– completely. The drinks were cold and reasonably priced. Just go here, hang out and drink. Eat elsewhere. The place was a little understaffed too. That’s as honest as it gets. Tom from Oregon.

Okay so this is an old review but since I’m on Unilocal now I have to blast this restaurant! I hope they changed the chef from last time we were there, but food was DISGUSTING! Two of us refused to even eat our meals. It was after my husband’s OCS graduation, the place is fantastic with Marine Corps items throughout but the food was so bad, I wouldn’t go back! EVER!

You don’t come here for the food you come here for the atmosphere and the memorabilia! I think this was the marine corps museum before it actually opened up. There are a thousands of patches on the ceiling, pictures, flags and plaques through out the place. A lot of history and story telling happens here

Don’t go for the food. Quality is mediocre at best. Steaks were chewy. Asparagus looked like something I’d spray weed b gone on in my driveway. Bread was frozen in the middle. Drinks were weak. Out of a lot of beers. Got the asparagus taken off my bill but then they tried to over charge on the main course and drinks. Lots of history on the walls to look at. Checked it off my bucket list. Won’t be back.

A great place for a beer with a friend, but I would stay away from here for a larger family gathering. It’s obviously a place that has had a lot of TLC put into it. Any military member or history buff would enjoy the various insignia on the walls. They don’t seem to handle large crowds very well and the wait staff was friendly but not very in tune with the operation. Definitely check it it out, but view it as more of a tourist attraction instead of a restaurant. The crab cakes were decent. My mother’s salad had rotting greens and all of the food(except for the crab cakes) was mediocre or below average. Definitely not worth the price. Come here for a beer and enjoy the time with friends, but I would not recommend taking family here for dinner. I don’t want to pass judgement after just one visit but my experience overall was very poor. However, I still would return to browse the walls some more and to just get a beer.

I was berry disappointed in the product put out by this restraint. Me a a large group(60) of marines came up to the area and were told the cheapest party they would cater was 30 bucks a person when we got there after pre warning when we would be there food was not ready neither was the staff as it seemed though I think they handled it perfect this is why they got two stars not 1. we had beef tips, chicken, mash potatoes a vegetable mix, and a salad all mediocre at best not a 30 dollar a person price at all. The atmosphere was cool but could not make up for the quality and quantity of food provided and this was a mutual feeling across the group

Uncooked rice, very poor customer service, and an incredibly long wait. After all the glowing reviews I read, I figured we give it a try but this place was truly godawful. I ordered the crab cakes and wild rice and the rice was completely Uncooked. Not under cooked. Completely Uncooked. The chef also apparently loves salt because it’s in absolutely everything.

Pass on this place if you’re retired older couple, in other words, no longer wearing a uniform. Had to refill our own water, spouses fries were cold. Really bad first impression. Maybe it was because we came in after 15 active duty people. But still, no excuse to me.

One of the worst meals of my life. Really really bad food. Awful atmosphere. Service was fine. But not worth sawing through the jerky they serve as steak. Stay away.

We used to come here a whole lot then something happened the last couple of years and we thought perhaps a different cook, the last 3 times we were here, the food was so-so , my food was okay, the rest of my co workers were not even cooked or something was always missing, today we went there to say goodbye to one of our co-worker and ordered the french dip, first off they didnt tell us they dont have the right bread for it, they just assumed we’d take the hamburger buns, the meat was cold, the other half of my bread do not have cheese, my french fries was cold, that’s it, this will be our last meal in this place, it took them an hour and 15 minutes to serve our food. I refuse to bring anybody here. You just lost 15 customers and their family. Major Spooner, I hope you are reading this, please do something about this, your cook and your manager are not doing their job, as far as I’m concerned, they are FIRED!

The menu leaves a lot to be desired. To me, it’s not worth the price. The memorbillia is cool, but you can’t eat that. I showed up at noon and was asked if I had a reservation. Looking around, the place was deserted. Not worth the time, money, or effort to return.

I love the history and memorabilia here as well as nice and friendly staff. The food is great too! However menu is extremely limited, there a small appetizer bar menu but you have to ask for it. They do have good wines but no beverage list but they seem to have good selection overall I think. Plus they have wifi … Mmm steak, wine, and homework perfect!

Laid back, good service. Great atmosphere. Good place for hanging out with friends/family. 1: Communication: When we ordered Duck a la Orange our server came back to tell us the kitchen didn’t have duck. Servers and the kitchen should know what is available before dinner service.(-.25 stars) Menu only contained main entrees. Didn’t list appetizers, beverages or desserts(.-25 stars) When prompted about the appetizers, we replied we didn’t see any on the menu and was handed an a little index card. Now I this was clever on our server part by having something on hand. 2:Timeliness: There was a slight lag on service. Now this could be because we were really hungry and that they were busy(-.25 stars) 3:Atmosphere/Décor: It’s packed full of military and civil service memorabilia Considering the owner is a Retired Marine Officer, it’s not surprising. Being a veteran, I loved it. However, for others it may be a little overwhelming. Service: Although there was a lag, Kala our server was attentive and courteous. She checked on us at proper intervals. Our glasses were never empty. There were other waiting staff members that came to clear the tables and deliver complimentary nibbles. Overall staff was doing there part. They were always moving either cleaning or stocking. Absolutely, no dawdling or over socializing with each other. When they spoke to each other, it was done with courtesy and sincerity. It seems like such a simple thing, but it showed me that the staff worked as a team and respected on another.(1 star) Food:(3 stars) Appetizer: Artichoke and spinach dip: Served right out of the oven, chips were crispy and fresh. Dip was rich and creamy. Bread:(Complimentary) Hot from the oven, fresh. Main entrees: Well portioned meals. Prime Rib/medium rare: came with squash/zucchini, baked potato and an interesting side of horseradish/garlic sauce. Cooked to perfection, meat was tender and juicy. Semper Fi steak/medium, Served with Asparagus and Baked Potato. Again perfectly cooked. Chicken Alfredo: Good portioning on chicken and noodles. You know how some places give a few pieces of chicken and all you left with is a bunch of noodles, not here. Sauce was delicious. All entrees came with a simple house salad. Dessert: Deep Dish Apple pie á la mode. This was baked fresh at the restaurant. Crust was a little undercooked, but we’re talking one to two minutes more in the oven undercooked. The filling was packed full of cinnamon apple goodness. Yummy

We visited here for lunch with a group of U.S. Marine Corps Veterans in September 2014AD. The servers were friendly and the place has a TON of interesting memorabilia!!! However, I recommend you just go there for a drink and appetizer. The food wasn’t that great and the portions were mediocre. The draw to this place is their collection of historical Marine Corps memorabilia — and on this account — they score 5 stars!!!

Went to Globe & Laurel for work luncheon and service was beyond horrible. The event was pre-booked for 25 people and they had one waiter. No food runner, no help for the waiter. The event lasted 2 hours. It took an hour for our food to be served. To end the event, the server had taken a credit card from co-worker for payment of his bill and came back to tell him they lost his credit card. Are you kidding me? I will NEVER be going back to this establishment or recommending it.

So as I started my journey this day with this restaurant being the forced mandatory fun dinner for a going away of an undisclosed person of military rank. As I sauntered through the doors burdened with the distaste of being forced to be there I was immediately struck in the face with so much Marine Corps and police paraphernalia I was immediately rendered ill an had involuntary flash backs of every blue falcon and boot I had ever experienced.(Gunner however seemed to float in the ambiance, this however receded quickly.) Our reservation was for 6p.m. However… after 15 mins of waiting I finally got a glass of crisp water(best f*ckin water ever btw) with in 5 mins they realized the room they placed our reservation in was too small and we were to be relocated to the«belleu wood» room. As I collected my hatred, discontent, and epic water I was greeted to a room that was no where near prepared. The moved me from a chair to a room to stand and wait for our waiter whom I shall dub«retard Houdini» to magic tables from what I assume had to be assembled from an IKEA box. After what ill now call«LZ sh*t service» was assembled I began to notice the room uncomfortably warm due to the exit hatch being open to vent the smell of dining in a massive box of crayons… At 7pm or order was finally taken, an hour after we arrived.(Speaking of the menu the ofer a soup or «salad» and maybe 7 – 8 entrees total. No appetizers, no back side to the school library smelling ancient menu that felt like it would probably be more pleasing if it was just pictures like another shameless, but open about it, restaurant called waffle house.) At 730pm, 3 pieces of bread arrive and my platoon, driven barbaric in these conditions, fought over them like a soccer ball in a small dusty brown village in Africa.(Im on glass 2 of my epic water) 745pm. Water I can only describe as a taco missing a tortilla and meat(or as they called it a salad) arrives. Pretty sure some of my lettuce grew in the crack of a sidewalk. 1 ouf of 10 green weenies. 750pm. 4 more pieces of bread are graced from the mystical and elusive servers. I harken this creature for mor water and I bite in to a jagged almost sour dough tasting diner roll. 1 out of 10 green weenies. At 8pm my pot roast arrives. Looking premixed with my mashed potatoes in a bowl already. But who needs presentation. The roast was ok but the potatoes n gravy had a taste of something nefarious they I instantly did trust. After 10 mikes I asked for a box, after another 10 I wish I asked for my check too. 10 more box arrives. 20 later I finally roped the indigenous server for a check. 20 more she retuns. All the while 4 servers were sitting down chatting away in the main restaurant area with only 2 tables to attend. The manager appoligized for failing at life and promised a discount we never got. I leave at 9pm with my battle buddy as so members of our parties food finally arrives. Over all 6 – 9 pm. 3 hours of neglect I can only imagine is designed for that genuine military experience. Horrible service, poor food, a horders taste of decorations, but good water.
