I’ve never been to a bikini wax place that used strip wax instead of hard wax. Now I know why. It hurts more, it’s more likely to bruise and it leaves more broken hairs. I really struggled with leaving a bad review for Madeline. She was extremely pleasant, she’s the only bikini wax place that was open on Monday(she’s open by appointment only) and, since she was all booked up, she suggested staying open so I could have an appointment around dinner time, a time I feel most businesspeople would consider too late. I don’t think most people would stay open past closing for one measly bikini wax, but Madeline did. Her space is very nice, despite having a large sign for the business that occupied the space before she did and only a small sign, not readable from the road, for her business. Despite how totally awesome Madeline herself is, the wax was not good. She used the strip wax, with its aforementioned difficulties, she used the same stick to dip into the wax for every pull, she missed a whole giant swath of hair down under and she didn’t clean up the extra hairs that the wax mixed. The atmosphere was really nice and she had lots of lotions and potions for skin care. I really think she’d give a great facial or skin treatment but it felt like her waxing services were an after thought. I’d go back for a facial, but probably never getting a wax from her again.
