Pitas On the Run

This place is great! They visited at my business facility and their food has never disappointed us. Super yummy! I will say one thing though, on the menu you’ve used the wrong form of «accept» you have «except.» Other than that you guys are amazing! :)

Terrible service. The online ordering functionality is useless. I was double billed when using this function and still had to wait over 15 minutes for my food when I arrived at the truck at my specified time. Lady working the truck snapped at several of us when inquiring about our online orders that were 15 minutes late. Food was blah. Had to dispute charge with credit card company. The better option is to get in your car and drive to Pita Republic. I can get over a lot of things but not rude service.

I tried Pitas On The Run at Generation Food Truck’s Westchase Rally. The truck has nice wrapping and the owners are actually from Washington D.C. and came down here to start their food truck just a few months ago. They haven’t been on the road for longer than 6 or 7 weeks.
Their concept is based on Mediterranean cuisine and they have a number of items such as falafel, hummus, and schwarma on the menu. The owners are from Lebanon and have put that cuisine into their dishes. The item I had was the Loaded Pita Chip Nachos which were excellent and tasted not only fresh, but also refreshing in the summer heat (boy oh boy do food truck rallies bring out the sweat). The dish costs $ 6 and is actually very filling for the price.
The nachos are pita chips and come with hummus, tabouli, and Greek yogurt. It was the fresh taste of the greek yogurt that truly won me over to this food truck and made me a fan. The flavors are so different from what the other food trucks are offering (or even just restaurants in Tampa in general) and it was great.
Next time I want to try the falafel (which Little Greek has turned me on to) and also the schwarma. The goat cheese stuffed burger wrap is also drawing my eye. Everything on the menu is under $ 8 so no reason not to go and try things on this truck if you’re feeling adventurous.
Cool concept. I’m impressed.
