One Love Charters

My son was on Spring break from College last week and came to visit me in St Pete. Neither of us have experience fishing (and never caught anything when we went fishing back home in NJ), but we still wanted to go out for a fun ½ day trip. The guys at the UPS Store in St Pete Beach recommended One Love Charters. The Captain (Jason) took just the two of us out, and we had an awesome time. Jason is a great guy. He is fun, easy going, has a great customer service ethic, passionate about his craft, and is extremely knowledgable about the terrain and fish… since he grew up in St Pete area and knows the waters like the back of his hand.
Jason had great reggae music playing («One Love» Charters)… and lot’s of fun stories to share when he was delivering yachts to celebs in his 20’s. Most importantly, he shared lot’s of helpful tips with us on how to work the rods and we caught lot’s of fish, including, snapper, trout, angel fish, and even a couple of sharks (one was over 3′ long!) My son caught a 20″ trout (the largest you’re allowed to keep), which Jason cleaned for us, as my son was very excited about cooking what we caught. (Jason also gave us a simple but very delicious recipe for cooking it as well.)
It was an awesome 4 hours and one of the highlights of my son’s visit. We agreed the next time my son comes to visit we will try our hand with night fishing with Jason. (Can’t wait for my buddies to come down to visit as well.) Would highly recommend One Love Charters to anyone who wants to go out for a ½ day or day, and have a great experience with a very cool local guide. Thanks for a great time, Jason. Well done…

Fabulous trip! Started in Gulfport, and went to the Sunshine Bridge, then on to Ft. Desota, and up the Inercoastal… the dolphins really put on a show for us. Great boat and Caption. Truly the highlight of our trip.
