pretty disappointing. sandwiches have sat like a lump in our stomachs all day. was expecting something fresh made like the Earl’s I’ve been to in VA but this was like potbelly or Quiznos. blah.

Sandwich shop but nothing stood out for me. The sandwich was good but again so are most other sandwich shops I’ve ever visited. It was late, they close in 30 minutes. Staff was friendly and welcoming despite my late arrival. Large portions, average price.

Ham and swiss — my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. I just ran in for a sandwich on the go and they provided a great variety. Very clean, fresh ingredients and a very bubbly cashier. Very reasonably priced.

I live EoS but this location is pretty bad. Stopped in for lunch in a Saturday afternoon and they only had 3 employees working, 1 making sandwiches. There was no one dining in all were waiting for Togo orders. Tables hadn’t been wiped and the trash by soda machine was overflowing. Wish they had Coke instead of Pepsi products!

This place is very clean and the staff very friendly. I read some of the other Unilocaler reviews and was shocked to see such a low score. If you were expecting a good hole in the wall family owned, one location type Restaurant then this is not for you. Yes they are a chain, yes many of their items are prepackaged, i mean what do you expect. As far as giving the order pagers when your the only one here that is simply their procedure. Some of my fellow Unilocalers disappoint me so. This location is clean, had fast service, the food was good and on par with expectations. Compared to Panera which is a similar business i think they are just as good here. The prices are a bit high here, that is my only complaint.

4 stars for service/atmosphere 2 stars for food 1st visit — free birthday sandwich, wrap, or salad brought me in — thank you! Very friendly staff and a clean/bright restaurant. Ordered a Full Montagu — was surprised by how small the sandwich was(6 inch maybe?) for the price($ 6-something) and really nothing special about it. With so many fast casual sandwich restaurants in the market, no need to revisit.

I have to say the food is amazing. I had ordered the Italian the first time I was here, it was full of flavor and tasty! I would recommend for everyone! Plenty of seating, too. Bring your friends. But the cashier was very unwelcoming, and you can tell she does not want to be there. She did not give me my receipt both times I was here. My review would’ve been five stars but her service as the first person you see and talk to is unacceptable in the work place.

This is my first time coming here, and it was a pretty good experience. My girlfriend also enjoyed it as well. This is a comfortable and trendy sammy shop, with tons of seating. I would’ve given this place 5 stars but the only thing that stopped me, was the cashier. The cashier is the first person you talk to when ordering and coming in, and she wasn’t very nice or welcoming. I like that you can see the employees making your food. The cooks seemed to be happy and ready to work. We ordered the chipotle avocado chicken and the Italian. Both on wheat bread; these were fantastic. Full of flavor! The meat is awesome and the bread is a toasty surprise. I was happy to observe that the lobby is clean and so are the work stations. I will absolutely be returning and telling friends!

It’s my second time here since the place opened up. My first experience here was pretty bad and I wanted to give it a second chance before posting a review. Second time around it was a little better. They don’t seem to be screwing up people’s orders and the food was made quite quickly this time. The ventilation is still an issue. Walked in and the smokiness hits you. Was hoping they’d have this fixed by now. The sandwiches are good. Not great but decent. I’d take it over Subway or Firehouse Subs which are also in the area. For $ 9.08 I got a sandwich and regular drink. The sandwiches are pretty small for the price though. I’d probably rethink coming back a third time because personally I feel like I can get a better experience, portion and food for the price.

Went there to get a sandwich for lunch last Friday. First of all, the prices aren’t bad. A sandwich is a bit more than $ 6. Cheaper than Panera. Second of all, the person who took my order was very sweet and friendly. It was my first time there, so I asked her to recommend me something. She suggested the holiday turkey sandwich. It took a couple of minutes to prepare and it came out delicious! Yummy bread with turkey slices, cranberry sauce and stuffing all at once. Tasted just like thanksgiving dinner. It was very filling too. The only problem is I was in food coma after I was finished. Can’t wait to go back again!

Don’t really know where the rest of these reviews are coming from. I think it’s because people think more is always better. Sure, you can go on down to the local Subway and get a foot long for five bucks that’s on special but all your getting is the same amount of meat, a bunch of toppings and a huge amount of bread. The sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich are awesome. My girlfriend and I have tried the 4th Street Special, the Chipotle Chicken and the Original. The sandwiches are the perfect size for a meal and the meat is unbelievable. So tender and juicy. The 4th Street Special is out of this world and it seems they took the time to pair the ingredients with the meats for a great flavor combination. So head on down to the other places and get your foot long of regret and indigestion or give this great place a try and leave satisfied that it was money well spent.

This is probably more of a 3.5. The restaurant was clean and new but rather awkwardly designed with tables way to close together and not much standing space. I ordered the Philly. It was okay but could have used a bit more meat to balance out the sweet tasting peppers and onions. Ben F ordered the Full Montague and enjoyed it. It had a nice amount of meat with a good ratio of sauce and veg. We both thought the bread was nicely toasted and far better than the bread at other sandwich shops.

I think it’s pretty good! Need to try more of the sandwiches but so far I like The Original and the Hawaiin BBQ. Their potatoes are pretty good too and big, I got the loaded one and was pretty happy and their vanilla cupcake is delicious! The Original roast beef sandwich can be a little dry at times though but other than that I was happy. edit: omg their caprese sandwich is heaven! try it if you like caprese :)

I’ve been twice, and both experiences were sub-par. I’ll give them one more shot, only because I received a free sandwich card after the hassle I dealt with today. I went with co-workers for lunch about 3 weeks ago. Granted they are a newly opened store and have kinks to work through(completely understandable), but at the same time I can hardly comprehend the point of having 8 or so people behind the counter making sandwiches. Too many cooks in the kitchen created chaos, and it took us nearly 15 minutes of waiting before we were out the door. The macaroni salad was bitter and unpleasant, and my Original was smushed flat and oozed sauce all over the sides of the bread, making it soggy before I had the chance to eat it. Today I ordered a wrap online for delivery to my office. 20 minutes past the projected delivery time I called to see what was up. Well, apparently my wrap was sitting on the counter, forgotten. The poor little guy. Anyways, the manager said she would have it delivered immediately and that it should arrive within 10 minutes. 25 minutes later, it was at my desk… and I’m still hungry. One more shot, Earl of Sandwich! I really want to like this place, but seriously WTF.

Unfortunately, Earl of Sandwich lived up to it’s current 2.5 stars on Unilocal.I knew that EOS had bad Unilocal reviews. I had already read them and had low expectations walking in, but I was still willing to give Earl of Sandwich a chance Earl of Sandwich was a fail from the moment I walked in. It has a «corporate pre-packaged» vibe to the atmosphere and décor. That wasn’t really an issue though. What immediately gave me pause was the menu… or lack there of. They have menu boards that basically tell you NOTHING about the food. Okay, there ware sandwiches with names. No size. No description or ingredients. How am I supposed to know what the Original 1762 is? There were only three sandwiches pictured on the menu. It didn’t help that the girl behind the counter was rushing us. Did I mention we were the ONLY people in there at the time? I went with one of the three pictured sandwiches since I *sort of* knew what was on it: Chipotle Chicken Avocado. My Husband was brave and went with the Earl’s Club. We weren’t sure if they came with anything, so we ordered a $ 4 Mac n’cheese to split(once again with no clue of how big it was). As an afterthought the cashier asked us if we wanted to make it a meal with chips and soda. Sure. We need drinks anyhow. It took a LONG time for our sandwiches and mac to arrive. We both made bathroom trips, drained our first drinks and devoured all(the Hubby) or most(Me) of our chips before our unnecessary coaster vibrated to tell us our food was ready. Why on earth do they use coasters? There were literally 10 employees behind the counter five feet from us and we were the only people there. Even if the place was packed, it would be unnecessary in this environment. Anyways, my Husband’s club was AWFUL. Bland and disappointing for the $ 6.49 price. My Chipotle Chicken Avocado was a little better mainly because it had a tasty chipotle sauce on it. It still was on the smaller side and lacked much other flavoring. The lettuce was WAY bigger than the bread. The bacon was seriously lacking. The chicken was chopped up pre-cooked pieces that weren’t very appealing and fell off all over the place. The mac n’cheese was okay. Not the best I have had, but not the worst. It did have the cheese slightly browned on top which was nice. Overall, not very happy. Hubby says he will never come back. I am apparently a glutton for torture and would be curious to try their baked potatoes(only served for dinner) and salads.

This place is easily becoming the weekend lunch spot and is a great fall back when Red Mesa is too formal or too packed. I originally saw it in Downtown Disney in Anaheim and when I saw this establishment on 4th St I had to give it a shot. A few things first: this is a corporate establishment and any judgment about the interior is really a first-world problem. And for the less observant: the menus are in the queue line(just like at Chipotle). Feel free to take one and read it over while other people order their food. Finally, I see a lot of people are concerned about timing, so I’ll tabulate mine as I visit: Date Ordered Promised Delivered 07⁄141:131:221:22 08⁄171:351:46 I’ve had 4 different sandwiches here now and I haven’t found one I don’t like. However the Mac n Cheese is good but not fantastic. If you need MnC they got it but I wouldn’t rave about it. The meat is skimpy but is remedied by ordering double the meat(it was that easy). I know of a lot of places that do this so I’m not surprised. As a side note, food is a la carte so there’s no «sandwich combo» but some people like that about Earl of Sandwich. I will rave about the triple chocolate brownie and other dessert items. They are so rich and sweet you’ll want to make your sandwich a little smaller just to enjoy one of them afterward. A++ would eat again.

So glad to have this just up the street from my house! Stopped in on Sat afternoon about 2:15pm and the place was bustling. They just opened and it is shiny and clean. The staff is excited to be there and they had plenty of smiling folks to help you. I sure hope it stays that way. I got the holiday on a bun with turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry and mayo. They are generous with all toppings and it is served hot. I also got the mac & cheese which I thought was just OK. It is very creamy, but it needed to be seasoned. Enjoy!

I am so glad they finally opened a branch in my neck of the woods. I fell in love with their hot sandwiches many years ago, when I had my first taste of Earl Of Sandwich at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Everything at Earl of Sandwich is hand-crafted and made fresh daily. A standout for me is the artisan bread; quality bread is the foundation of any top-notch sandwich, and EOS has found the perfect recipe. The bread is sent through a special oven, baked to perfection, and served hot. I was excited to learn that they also serve breakfast and dinner items; I sincerely have my eyes on the pizza bread and baked potatoes. My favorite here will probably always be the Tuna Melt, which sounds lame but it is oh-so-good. I can also vouch for the Earl’s Club. This particular site is super clean, modern looking, and offers some outdoor seating.
