Phenomenal experience at Charlie Parker’s Pottery! He gave us a great discount on a 3 hour class & taught us the basics of pottery making. Not only that, but we each got to make 2 bowls a piece! Eight bowls later, we can’t wait to go back to make more! Mr. Parker was such a delight, too. Great sense of humor, very kind & generous. The next time we have friends come visit, we’ll definitely swing back in to see Charlie & throw some clay!

My wife surprised me and took me here. I thoroughly enjoyed our time here and Charlie is friendly and very relaxed. He made it fun for us to make pottery for the first time and taught us. It was a blast and we will take our family back to do this together. We both made two bowls. Mine are much nicer than the wife. I am the ARTIST! It was a fun date.

Let me start off by saying if you’re looking for a fun activity to do, Charlie’s is the place to go. I planned my best friends bachelorette party and we decided on a more low key weekend. We went to Charlie’s pottery class with 7 girls and had a blast! it was BYOB so we brought mimosas and food and just thoroughly enjoyed our time. It was the perfect mix of learning, doing, and then performing on your own. Charlie and Laura gave us great tips on how to form our bowls and paint them. Charlie has an awesome sense of humor too, so you’re guaranteed to laugh while you’re here! I definitely recommend this place!

Great little gallery and studio, and the owner Charlie is truly a riot! He is a funny guy(self-proclaimed«Clay Genius» of some 47 years), and is a skilled ceramicist. In chatting with him, I found out that he helped start up St. Pete Clay(now it’s owned by the Morean Arts Center). He said he wanted to have his own shop, and he has quite a neat gallery and studio space in the Warehouse District! The gallery portion of the building is pretty much everywhere, even in the studio section so that there are things to look at and buy throughout the place. The front portion is specifically gallery, and has a wide range of artists, ceramic items, and prices. I’ll definitely be coming back here to do some holiday shopping, you can easily get some very unique works of art all while supporting the local community which is all a big win in my book. There are also classes you can take here, which I’m sure are a blast just based off of my lively chat with Charlie. I can’t vouch for the classes, but he gave me a little wheel-throwing demonstration when I came in and he is incredibly good! He can throw one of his large-scale bowls in a couple minutes. It’s crazy! His doors always seem open, and he’s part of the St. Pete Artwalk, so make sure to stop in if you’re in the area!

My boyfriend booked us a pottery class here as a surprise birthday gift. It was just the 2 of us & Charlie. He is fantastic! He has been working with pottery for many years and is an excellent teacher. He’s super laid back & likes to tell some colorful jokes ;). Great guy and we really enjoyed making our bowls, which turned out beautiful! Definitely recommend taking a class here if you are a complete beginner or fairly seasoned. They also have offices they rent out to professionals in the back.

I had bought a groupon with a friend to try the«ghost» like experience. We went and the class was just us. Charlie was very welcoming and walked us through every step of the process first explaining the tools and showing us exactly what we would be making and then talking us through each step as we did it ourselves. He guided us and we made 2 bowls. We even painted them that day and picked them up about a week later. This activity was relaxing, stress free and fun! I highly recommend it to others and wish he would list his business on tripadvisor so that people who use that can find him.

I bought 2 living social coupons for the bowl making class and it turned out to be basically a private session for us. Charlie is laid back, funny, and makes the session entertaining. We brought snacks and wine and got a tour of the studio and work from the artists. I highly recommend this for a girls night out or a date night. It’s hands on, no pressure, funny, and you get two bowls made with the help of a real artist. Great deal!

I found this on groupon today and called right away to make an appointment. The owner was able to fit me and 5 other people tonight and he opened the shop just for us. The first impression I got was the owner was very friendly and easy to talk to. He was also a very good instructor-very patient and took the time to explain things to each person. The shop itself is also very cute and has some amazing pottery work for sale throughout the store. There are some very talented people that work there. I especially liked the large flat bowls they used as a sink in the restroom. The class itself was very fun and each person got to make 2 bowls on the wheel spinner and paint them(my favorite part). Once we pick up the bowls next week after they’ve been glazed and fired I am going to use them as dog bowls for my puppy. We will definitely be back again!

My girlfriend & I took a clay spinning class here that we got through Groupon. We had so much fun & here are the reasons why… 1. Reasonably priced 2. Class was entertaining & the owners are funny 3. It’s BYOB. You can drink whatever booze you bring 4. You’ll get to use cheesy jokes from the movie Ghost 5. You learn clay spinning techniques & how to use the spinning machines 6. You get to keep 2 of the bowls that you make(It takes a couple days for them to seal the bowls with a clear coat)
