Burger was overcooked, flavorless and super dry, lettuce on the toppings bar was wilted, the soda machine didn’t work so they had to hand out cans of soda, and it would have been cheaper to go to Steak ‘n Shake(and that’s saying something!) If you want a better burger, go to Smash Burger. This place should be called«It’s a tasteless, overcooked burger.»

If you haven’t been here, GONOW! Best burgers in STL. Their burgers are made to order, fresh and a great size. They’re absolutely delicious. Definitely the best in the St. Louis area! We go here at least once a week to get our fix. The prices are very reasonable. Their fries are pretty good and I definitely recommend the Orange house sauce for everything. The staff is always nice and willing to make changes to your order, even after you’ve ordered.

It took a long time to get our food but it was really good. I normally don’t care for crinkle fries but they put enough salt on them to make them taste delicious and the sweet potato fries come with this sweet dipping sauce that makes them even more awesome. I’d recommend this place fa sho.

Haven’t been to It’s A Better Burger since they reopened, so we decided to stop by today for a quick burger. I must say I was really disappointed, the burgers had a weird taste that just didn’t taste right. The burgers were top rate when they first opened a couple years back, but now they aren’t worth eating. Also, the condiments are no longer available for the customer to add to their own burger. The catsup is only available in the little individual packets, so you cannot fill your own serving cups for dunking your fries. The sweet tea has so much sugar in it that it is really a turn off. This will be our last visit, the food was just not up to par.

Update: the burgers are still delicious and one of my favorites but the last time I stopped in the got rid of the toppings bar and didn’t offer tea anymore. The service was still good but the place seems to be on a slow decline. I hope they go back to how they were when first opened.

I had a great lunch here at the St. Peter’s location. Staff was very nice and accommodating. I recently started a low carb diet and they made me a great burger, minus the bun, cooked to perfection! I will be back and I recommend you try it out!

This place is closed. I noticed no cars the past the couple times I went past there. Then I called the place and no answer. I called their store in Maryland Heights and confirmed this location has closed. EDIT: It appears they have reopened.

I thought the food was great! One of the better burgers I’ve had in a while, and it was a lot of food. I also enjoyed the pictures of the St. Louis Rams coach. I would go there again.

Disappointing. Went one evening about 40 minutes before close. No customers. Place looked like they rented cheap tables and chairs, threw some bland photos on the wall, and called it good. Burger was mediocre, service was quite slow considering I wAs the only one there. When I asked about the special and said it was my first time there, the two employees there didn’t make any effort to welcome me. Wouldn’t go there again unless I wanted to unimpress someone. ;) smash burger is much better at similar prices but more options and yummiest! Won’t go back.

I thought my burger was really tasty and loved that it was piping hot when they brought our burgers to the table. Everyone was pleasant and it was a nice place to grab a quick lunch on a Sunday afternoon.

Never had a Better Burger than this one. They will cook one the way a good burger should be cooked and that is Med Rare not burn’t like Smash and 5 guys. Now that FRESHCUTFRIES are coming they will be complete. A beer license would make it even better.

I’ve been a fan of It’s A Better Burger for a couple of years now. It’s one of those places a guy like me brings his friends to for verification. It’s one of those places you want to be the guy to find, the place that truly does have the best burger in town. Or at least it was. I took my wife here the other day, we try to drop in every month or so, just to get that«great burger» craving out of the way. I have to admit, the last time I had their food was on a carry out basis, and I wasn’t impressed, but I figured it was my own fault. The wife stopped in on her way home, and after ten minutes in the car in a Styrofoam container, I just figured the food naturally wouldn’t taste as good as I had remembered. But on this day, we dined in. It was my first trip since the menu revamp. What used to be burgers of 7oz, 10oz, and 12oz varieties, was now single, double, triple burgers. Not a huge deal, mind you, but in the end, it played a serious difference for me. I am used to doing the 10oz burger. That’s what fills me up, and leaves me happy. I wasn’t starving, so I opted for the single patty burger named«The Western.» This has been my burger of choice for a while now, a simple burger, cheese, onion rings, bbq sauce, and that is that. I always get my meat well done, sorry folks, I’m not a vampire, bloody meat isn’t my thing! All in all, the burger was good. I cannot take away from the flavor of the burgers here, they are fantastic burgers. What disappoints me is the smaller servings of fries and the burgers themselves. I used to be able to order a 10oz Western with fries and a drink, and walk out stuffed. On this day, I walked out feeling a bit malnourished. As for the good, the opportunity to have the burger flame grilled or cooked on the flat grill is a nice option. It gives you the chance to «customize» the flavor of the burger. I like that. In honesty, coming in for the first time, I may not have had as much disappointment as I did coming in as a regular. I can honestly say that this was a 4 star burger place before I walked in on this last visit. Unfortunately for them, I just joined Unilocal, and this was my first review! That said, this is a great place to grab a burger. There is really NO atmosphere, so don’t expect the bar and grill experience. This is much closer to the fast food, order and eat deal. There is a flat screen up on the wall, streaming ESPN, but that is the extent of the atmosphere. The only thing that brings you back, truly is the burgers.

Very Good Burger Place. I’m a burger guy. I think it’s one of the better burger places in the area. Good fries and reasonably priced. Always fresh, sometimes slow, always a good value.

we eat at Better Burger 2 – 5 times per month because it is SO conveniently located to our home, especially on Friday nights when Mom does not want to cook. Tonight was One of the most frustrating experiences I have ever had placing a carry out order. 1st, I tried to order a grilled chicken breast sandwich. They were completely out of regular chicken breasts(they could only offer me the breaded). So I then ordered 25oz specialty burgers. For my kids(ages 8&4) I tried to order the kids burger meal and chicken strips(with out the drinks. For to-go orders, I never take the soda that comes with it because 1. I don’t want to carry the drinks and have them spill in my car and 2. we have soda at home) Well… They will no longer let people order children meals to go. The kid has to be WITH you to prove that it is for a kid.(Really!!! I’m getting my order to go because I didn’t want to take the whole family out to eat) Fine, I’ll move on. I tried then order a children’s burger Ala cart. Again I was told that I couldn’t do that. The 5oz burger is only available as a specialty burger. REALLY? To buy a regular cheeseburger for my child I had to buy a 7oz(1⁄3 pound) burger. Ok, on to the chicken tenders, they were out of those too. So I ordered a breaded chicken sandwich without the bun(to then cut into strips when I got home). I added 2 orders of French fries. Phew, that part went ok. My suggestion to management(besides having items in stock) is to allow 1 kids meal per adult meal or to allow us to purchase a children size entrée per regular/specialty burger. From now on, I guess I will just pick up a $ 5 pizza next door. It is MUCH simpler and less aggravating

Came back for a second try. Had there $ 2.99 chicken nugget special! 12 homemade nuggets fries and a drink! Very good eat at good price! They have added staff so they are much faster now too!

Driving along Mexico Road and saw this burger joint. Thought we’d give it a try. Good burger but a $ 3.99 up-charge to make it a combo meal. Then I got a total of about 12 french fries and a small soda. Skip the combo meal and order a side of fries, maybe that’ll be a better route. Again, they make a very good burger but the combo meal was a disappointment and the condiment bar needs some work too.

I have made«better» burgers on my grill at home for a lot less. The entire concept is a copy cat of Christie’s which was started first. Even the décor inside is identical to Christies. I agree with the other reviews about it having that thrown together feel. Someone told me there special seasoning was Lawry’s. The name of this restaurant should be «it’s a mediocre, over cooked burger».

As in all my reviews I make several visits before expressing my thoughts. Clean — Busy — Good. Each order is made fresh. So have time to wait. Hot and fresh off the grill. One of the outstanding burgers, perhaps not the best… but better than most. Wonderful St Louis flair with Ted Drew’s and fresh cookies as well. Burger was made to perfection. Not your drive thru burger place. Good selection of additional items… chicken and fish too. Great place to sit and relax. Give it try.

I had to go here to see what all of the talk was about. It is very similar to another local chain Christys. The burgers were good and the prices were reasonable, but nothing to go out of my way for.

A Better Burger it’s not. Our burgers were very dry, lacking flavour and way over-cooked. Fries were boring and not a very big helping for $ 3.00. We were really hoping to find a great burger place close to home, but we’ll have to keep looking. Disappointing, because I really wanted to like this place.
