This is hands-down my favorite place ever. I may be a bit biased because I grew up here, being the third generation of my family to visit here. We come for one week every year around the 4th of July, and it pains me when we leave. I’ve traveled to a lot of places, but there is something about the PalmCrest that brings me back every year. The innkeeper, Jack, is amazing and knows all of the great local eats and the cheapest places to rent kayaks and jet-skis. He is always available to help, so don’t be scared to ask. He has so many reoccurring guests for a reason. This is also THE place to bring a family. It’s cozy and communal rather than the impersonal feeling you get from a high-rise hotel. It’s a small motel with about 19 rooms, a pool, and the best sand in St. Pete Beach. It’s also located directly next to The Undertow bar so it’s really easy to skip next-door for a drink or some BBQ. The rooms themselves are like small efficiency apartments. There is a stovetop(no oven though), full refrigerator, and full kitchen amenities(utensils, drying rack, coffee maker, etc). It’s also right down the street from Publix so you are never far from groceries. The people you will meet are amazing, especially if you go the week of July 4th when my family goes. Just yesterday I enjoyed a huge Cajun seafood lunch cooked up by my motel-neighbors and watched an awesome fireworks display right on the beach with some new a d old friends. There is no summer for me without the Palm Crest. It simply is perfect. There is simply nowhere else that comes close in St. Pete.
