Fantastic meal. Great service. You must save room for dessert. One of our favorite restaurants.

nice little old place in Ladue. horrible parking, service so so. the only stand out in the whole meal was the bacon useed on the burger is excellent, thick peppery goodness. Gumbo a bit lacking in flavor other than overpowering spice. Not sure if they’re wanting the old world feel, but the décor could use some updating

Great little restaurant! Rack of lamb and pan seared snapper were both excellent. Matt the waiter is also great, and did well with the wine recommendation. The restaurant probably doesn’t get a lot of children but we took our 7 year olds and they were very accommodating. They split a burger and loved the fried green tomato appetizer topped with crawfish.

All we can say is WOW!!! Where do we start? We went just planning to sample and share a few appetizers… The roasted bone marrow was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The artisan bread toast that accompanied it and the mussels was toasted to a nice crust on the outside and tender on the inside. The raw tuna wrap was delicately seasoned and the micro thin slice of jalapeño provided the perfect amount of heat. I mentioned mussels earlier, absolutely delicious and the broth almost resulted in a «When Harry Met Sally’ moment the moment it passed my lips. We knew we were already taking a major doggy bag home, so… The hanger steak, moist tender and delicious and the half duck with the 3 homemade sauces and spring greens were beyond description. When Matt(who was attentive, professional and informative) brought the dessert menu, we had no choice. It was time for a gooey butter brownie. Again it was prepared exquisitely and presented beautifully(as was everything else). All in all one of the best dining experiences in all my years on this planet.

Legitimate five star dining and service, if you want feel like a one percenter for an evening or you can afford it; this is it. Of fining dining establishments in the greater Saint Louis area, Truffles finds itself in rare air in a sense you’ll only see advertisements in lifestyle journals like the Ladue News. The space itself is a quiet softly lit dining room with classic French lithographs and American contemporary paintings. White linen service on each of the tables with ornate but simply center pieces, the ambiance of the restaurant soothes you from the first step through the doors. There’s certain upper echelon quality to the restaurant that inherently lets you know you’ve stepped into high society. To warm your palate, you’re given a sampling of the chef’s creation of the day; a creole shrimp concoction served on a small dish. The appetizers are far from standard whereas bone marrow is even offered, which by the way we decided upon for starters. Though it doesn’t sound appetizing If you’re adventurous I would highly recommend this warmed seasoned starter that comes with a side of bread; literally it melts in your mouth pierces your soul. It was one of our favorites that comes in a very healthy portion, make sure you generously spread though. Our entrees were the half smoked duck breast and the rack of lamb(medium well), both of which seemingly cooked to perfection. I could no ask for a better display and preparation to my meal. Both entrees came with sides of Yukon gold potatoes and broccolini, but served with a certain flare befit of a fine dining restaurant. The service was excellent, they don’t rush you or hurry to order; they allow you ease into your meal and take your time. We were there for three hours, literally the longest time I’ve spent in a restaurant; I enjoyed it that much.

First time at this establishment after reading many positive reviews. The service was outstanding. The wine list was, well, large. Had plenty to choose from. I got the French onion soup. I had better in other places but it was still ok. The almond crusted trout on the other hand was absolutely spectacular. I had to force myself to stop eating because I was so full. My date had the half chicken. He asked for no mushrooms because im allergic and he wanted me to have a bite but they came anyway. But the chicken was good regardless according to him. We will definitely go back again.

Great food in large portions. Decent service. Excellent bussers. Great wines to choose from. Starter was bone marrow. Very good, nice seasoned crust on top, and paired well with toasted bread. Next, I had the wedge salad, which was the best thing of the night. It had a nice, spicy dressing that made me want to keep coming back for more heat, and the fried crawfish bites were a brilliant combination. Wife had the beet salad, which had a yummy goat cheese mousse, but the beets were done a bit more than she would have liked. Mains: I had the strip steak because I wasn’t in an adventurous mood that night. Steak was fantastic. Seasoned, good crusts, buttery interior. Perfect. Sides were okay. The potato au gratin was good, but very dense, and the broccolini were a bit too al dente for my tastes. Nice flavor though. Wife had the duck, which she enjoyed a lot. Problem was that it was paired with a light greens salad, as was her beet salad. Would’ve been a good thing for a great server to warn us about. I’d really give them 3.5 Stars, but I’ll add that ½ Star to personal preference of food. The server was good, but not perfect on our Saturday night. Like I said a warning about my wife doubling down on greens salads would’ve been nice, and he ran off to check about by-the-glass wine pairings with our duck and steak. The server, for Truffles, should have had an automatic suggestion or two instead of «going to ask someone» on what I would consider normal entrees. Asked for pumpkin cheesecake at the end, and he said«okay», only to come back and say«the kitchen said» it was only for people who ordered the 6-courses. The other issue we had was these were«American» portions. For such a high-end place we honestly expected less… huge portions. For size of the portions and quality of the food, I feel it is very, reasonably priced. It’s weird to want less, very un-American, perhaps. Yet, there is something indelicate about large portions.

We went here with tow other couples last night for the first time. It was wonderful! My wife and I each had the Almond Crusted Trout — Outstanding! I also had the Chef B’s Gumbo Soup — spicy, but extremely good! The service, especially the way all the food was delivered and presented was an extra touch!

Truffles serves arguably the best food in St Louis. The food is exquisite. I love the risotto, my favorite among the appetizers. I really like the snapper as a main course. I have never tried the desserts because I am always too full after the main course. The wine list is amazing — they have an inventory comparable to total wine(a shop which sells simple and great wines at amazing prices). I think some of the wines are sold with a rather high markup, but maybe that is justifiable give the enormous inventory they carry and the great service they have. I like the fact that they make good use of the coravin wine access system and sell a great selection of good wines by the glass. The atmosphere is comfortable and it feels like a great fine dining restaurant. The servers are great, they are friendly and helpful. They are also very knowledgable about the wine they sell. One thing I don’t like is the air conditioner; it is always too cold in the restaurant. There is also a butcher shop which belongs to the restaurant. I love that shop. They sell a lot of nice things, but first and foremost, great meat. From time to time you can also get Wagyu beef(typically ribeye); unfortunately they don’t have it always. Once I have bought some Jamón Ibérico, which was disappointing and not the quality I am used to when I buy it in upscale shops in Europe(though at the same very expensive price). I definitely recommend Truffles, the restaurant and the butcher shop.

No complaints can be made about this restaurant. Typically an expensive eatery, Truffles wins you over with excellent service and phenomenal food. Take someone here for a special occasion.

I am reviewing their meat market and sandwich shop. Oh the joy when you walk inside of this little shop located next to the restaurant. The lovely smells that waft through the shop makes you want to try everything. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich combo, it can with sandwich, chips and drink, all for 9.99. My sister ordered the Rosemary bread pudding. The chicken salad sandwich came on fioccia bread and was the perfect balance of mayo to chicken. The chips offered are a local brand called The Billy Goat Chip company. Lovely chips. The Rosemary bread pudding was moist on the outside and a little crispy she’ll on the outside. The only downside is they do not have any seating.

My husband had the day off and we decided we deserved lunch out! Truffles has been on my to-do list for a long time and I’m glad we could finally make it happen! This place is beautiful! It screams fine dining the moment you step in! The beautiful paintings, the heavy, comfy chairs. I’ll also mention that they play fantastic music! A ton of Beatles, Paul McCartney, Elton John — the music I was raised with and love so much! And they played it at the perfect volume — not too loud! Our server was absolutely, 100% fantastic! She was one of the best servers I’ve had in a while. We started with the Butchery Board. This comes with the options of adding cheese. The meat by itself is $ 15 and adding cheese adds $ 16. Let me do that math for you — that’s a $ 31 meat and cheese board! That the most expensive cheese board I’ve ever had. What we got was certainly well made and delicious. But in my opinion it wasn’t worth $ 31. I feel like I know a few other restaurants in the city that can give me an even better plate and at a lower price point. But moving on to happier things! The truffles burger is one of the best burgers in the city! The patty was seasoned like whah! It was bursting with flavor! And the sweetness of the caramelized onions paired perfectly! The only thing I would do differently next time is go with fries instead of chips. I did love the text — extremely light and not overly hard. But they were very under seasoned. Perhaps I’d prefer the fries? When we go back, I’ll definitely do that burger all over again. But I’ll skip the Butchery and Cheese plate to save room for dessert!

Went for dinner — started with drinks at the bar. Bigger bar for Clayton, Tito’s was a bit on the pricier side but seemed normal for the restaurant. French onion soup is AMAZING! Steaks were good, not my favorite place in STL. Food is expensive but good — not amazing. The waiters and waitress are great here but the décor and ambiance is nothing to be impressed with. Wine list is extensive and impressive. They have a great happy hour which I would try in the future instead of returning to the dining room.

This was by far the best service I have received… ever. The staff, food, and presentation was impeccable. I had the ribs and they were delicious. The hubs had the pork chop and he loved it. I can not wait to come back to Truffles. The wine list is expansive. We got to hear the live band since we were there on a Saturday evening. I could not have asked for a better location for birthday dinner.

I was flying solo and decided to stop in after reading other Unilocal.Glad I did! Sat at the bar during the busy Happy Hour and was greeted warmly and promptly, and served ice water while I made decisions. I pigged out on a shrimp cocktail, charcuterie board and a meal of scallops. All were amazing! The scallops were so good, I can say they were the best I’ve ever had… and I’ve had me some scallops worldwide people! Good energy with lotsa locals who were kind and didn’t make me feel unwelcome. If you’re in the area, GO!

It’s a high-end restaurant connected to their own butcher shop, what more can you ask for from a steakhouse? Thanks to my faithful friends at Unilocal,I found this gem on a cold Wednesday night. My standard was raised due to hyped up reviews. I’m also a steak connoisseur who walks into every steak house with the notion that I can buy a better cut back home(Kansas City) and grill it myself the way I like it on my Weber Performer. This place lives up to the hype. Beautiful and artistic dinning room, drench with art work and classy decors. It sets me in the mood for a glass of Bookers Bourbon for appetizer and ordered a 24oz Wagyū(American Kobe) Cowboy Cut — Medium Rare. The steak arrived, cooked the way I like it. It’s seasoned with salt, pepper, oil, and a hint of truffle. The meat was marveled and melts in my mouth. The sides of home made mashed potato with truffle butter and Brussels sprout were spectacular. Overall, this is now my favorite steakhouse in STL. Great service, great atmosphere, and amazing steaks. Forget Mortons, Ruth Chris, and other chain places when you’re in STL. Come here, I will never steer you wrong. Cheers.

Went to truffles tonight and had a pretty good experience but well short of 5 stars. The start was outstanding. Wonderful wine list and many top notch selections. The apps were excellent. Steak Tartare, Smoked Salmon and beet salad were well worth it. The wedge salad at 12 bucks is a bit pricey. For dinner it was hit and miss. We ordered the 40 dollar filet, sole, duck, scallops and burger. the filet was well prepared but well over seasoned with oregano and rosemary, it was not very good, the scallop’s sauce was not very good either and the micro greens were near invisable. The burger was a great value at 15 bucks and was very impressive when delivered but it proved near impossible to eat. The bun did not hold up and the burger fell apart otherwise it was good. The duck and the sole were the real winners and worthy of 5 stars. This is a great choice to eat in the heart of Ladue. Service and atmosphere are 5 star excellent btw

A great restaurant in the heart of Ladue with upscale food for an upscale crowd. You can eat casual in the bar or more formal in the dining room – Truffles is a great restaurant. The relaxed old-school vibe caters to the older Ladue crowd, but the menu features lots of great food with unique twists that make it a joy for any age. While the bar on weekends feels like a Ladue 50+ Cougar Den, the great food, wines and well-prepared drinks make this place fun for all. Highlights: — Great, flavorful food — A fun bar(on weekends) — Upscale crowd and décor — Solid service — Convenient parking — Awesome central Ladue location So-so: — Can be a quiet and older crowd M-Thurs — Server was good, but not very engaging — Some dishes(e.g. the burger or ribs) are hard to eat gracefully Overall: Thumbs up! Come for a drink or dinner and you will be back. Lively bar for people watching.
