I went there once because everyone was raving about it. I ordered the brat burger which was good and my roommate ordered the regular cheeseburger, which was not. We ended up splitting my food because her burger had no seasoning and tasted frozen, i took a bite of hers. I dont know if it was an off night but it definitely didnt live up to the hype for me.

I don’t visit Trainwreck very often. Why? 1. They don’t have many healthy options. They have salads, but most of them contain onion or would otherwise require too many customizations from me. «Yeah, I’ll have The Cobb. No onion, egg, or blue cheese. Dressing on the side.» I don’t want to be /that/person – you know, the person who apparently wants a Cobb salad but doesn’t actually want many of the ingredients typically included in a Cobb salad. 2. They have Pepsi products(nay). [But they do have Dr Pepper(yea).] Anyway, the husband likes this place, and to be honest, the food really is good here. I have ordered a customized salad in the past, and it was HUGE. Today, I was in the mood for something different. I was feeling like an Osmond or something. I wanted something a little bit country and a little bit rock-and-roll, so to speak. Like, I wanted to be kind of healthy but kind of not. So, I ordered a bunless chicken sandwich with Gouda and bacon and a side of cottage cheese. The husband had his usual plain burger and fries. My chicken was good. It was charbroiled. It had great flavor and wasn’t dry. The Gouda and bacon were. .. well, they were Gouda and bacon. You probably don’t need much of a description there. The Gouda was served in two slices that were just barely beginning to melt atop my chicken. I would have preferred more meltiness, but that’s just me. I kind of wish I had gone a little more rock-and-roll and stuck with fries instead of cottage cheese. My husband gave me some of his fries, and unsurprisingly, they were immensely more enjoyable than my cottage cheese. They were just regular fries with seasoning, but they were tasty. My husband’s burger also was delicious. They have a few options here(e.g., bison, Rain Crow Ranch grass-fed beef), but my husband just had commoner’s beef. I had a bite, and I can tell you first-hand that plebeian beef was damn good. My husband described it as being so tender his teeth weren’t even touching as he chewed. ;) We had a great waitress today and managed to have a quick lunch despite the restaurant being rather busy on a Sunday afternoon. Our waitress was quite attentive; she kept our glasses refilled and brought our check to us in a timely manner. So, as you can see, I don’t have any major complaints about Trainwreck. It’s just not exactly the food I crave, and they don’t have Coke products. ;)

They will not make a medium rare hamburger, only a rare hamburger or medium hamburger, neither one suits me. And their poor quality hamburger buns fall apart while you’re eating it. I will never go back, at least not for a hamburger.

A nice local place in an historic building off of old Route 66. The«train» theme is a nice touch, and the location is convenient. We were seated and served promptly even though it was a busy Saturday evening, and service remained attentive(without hovering) for the remainder of our stay. Our appetizers and drinks were brought out quickly, and were served piping hot and fresh. There is a bar section up front, a standard dining room in the back(which is family friendly), and a rear patio with a gazebo and an old fashioned railroad passenger car providing space for events. The structure is well aged, and as a «bar and pub» there is no elegance to be found here… so be prepared for that. The menu selection is larger at the Westport location, but the quality of the food is still good here. Unlike some historic pubs, this remains a «lively but friendly» little place, rather than a dive, a dump, or a dead establishment. I would offer 4.5 stars.

Pretty decent place. It’s good for what it is. The burgers are decent. Good flavor. The chili is pretty good too. Nothing to write home about– but nothing bad either. The host isn’t very friendly but the waitress was very good. The bathroom is filthy. I don’t know how they pass code.

Good burgers. This place offers good burgers, fries, and beers for a reasonable price. If you just have a hankering for a burger, you cant go wrong here. The place was clean and the servers were great! Its not a place that I would go every week, but its good for a meal every so often.

What a dump. Burger tasted really bland. I thought the bartender wasnt going to stop blowing her nose. It was like she had to do it before she could touch your food. Gross. the place is really dirty.

My family and I had a great time at the Trainwreck Saloon last month. We went on a weekend during lunch and tried different types of burgers, margaritas and mixed drinks. The margarita special came with a shot of tequila and was inexpensive so me and my mom got two each! Super delicious! The burgers were great and so were the fries. My parents used to come to Westport Plaza for their anniversary every year in the 80’s and 90’s. I just want to say thank you to Trainwreck Saloon for the great memory. My dad passed away from cancer recently. I am very thankful he was able to visit Westport Plaza before he passed and was able to enjoy Trainwreck Saloon and be able to walk around the plaza and see the places him and my mom visited when they were young. Thanks Trainwreck Saloon!

We were seated almost immediately, even though the bar area was busy and the dining area about half full. Our server was very welcoming, taking drink orders and delivering our choices quickly and always with a smile. The food was great-I had the Gouda Bacon Burger, with all the fixings, and it was very savory!

I got reservations for an after graduation get together. The reservations were met. It was busy that day so it took 30 minutes to put in our order and another hour to get our food. When I received my food(hamburger) it was raw. I had order it well done. I felt that since food took so long it should have been right the first time. I will wait for good food but I was highly disappointed and decided to eat elsewhere due to the fact that it had taken so long and the quality was not there. If I’m paying $ 10 for a hamburger I expect it done right the first time. My brother had also received a raw burger, he sent it back and it came back raw again. He order his well done too. So needless to say he did not eat either. This was a very disappointing experience. Having my family in town from Alabama to enjoy Midwest foods.

Had no idea what to expect here but thanks to fellow helper reviews we thought we’d give it a shot after an eve of car shopping. Who doesn’t need comfort food after that!!! Burgers were great, and nicely sized to be ample but not soo big as to be difficult to eat. My mushroom burger had just the right amount of grilled mushrooms and onions on top and the hubs said his bison burger was very tasty. My son had a grilled chicken sandwich that was quite large so we cut it into fourths for him. He managed to eat almost all of it as he was apparently a hungry little dude. We really wanted to sit outside by the converted caboose bar but bee were mid-monsoon so that wasn’t happening. I’d come back for a burger to be sure. The service was great– friendly and quick and the sweet potato fries were a bonus. Good stuff here.

Been here many times and keep coming back. Menu includes grass fed local beef and bison as well. Burgers are exceptional and seasoned fries are d-lish. My salad had pimentos and artichoke hearts(very yummy). Outdoor seating is nice and there is a fun train that drives around the bar.

Entire family had good food at a decent price. Waitress was polite and attentive. We’ve had fast service and slow — depends upon the crowd I guess.

Trainwreck is a nice local place to pick up some bar food on a cold night! That is exactly what my husband and I did. We ordered some hot wings, fried pickles and 2 chicken sandwiches. The hot wings were yummy. The fried pickles were a little too doughy, but still really good. The pickles also came with a really awesome aoili spicy sauce that really knocks your socks off. I had the regular chicken sandwich, which was good. My husband had the chicken, gouda and bacon sandwich… he devoured the sandwich in minutes! We were there waiting for our takeout order and someone at the bar told us the chili was great. I guess next time I will be ordering the chili!

I’ve been to Trainwreck Saloon several times for Happy Hours for a local professional organization. This is a great place to meet a large group of people that wants to enjoy beer(wouldn’t recommend their wine or cocktail list). The staff is friendly and prompt for their service. I’ve tried several of their appetizers and the only one I’d really recommend is the onion ring tower. It comes out hot and fresh with onion rings that are full of breading. Very delicious. Parking can be complicated… so be warned on busy evenings.

Service is relatively slow. And somehow I always end up with warm beer. But… They have bison burgers. And any paleo foodie will wait for good meat. Delicious and lean and for the cost of Bison the price is right. Bison is served medium rare and that is pretty darn close to perfect. We went on a Sunday and it wasn’t packed, however any other time that I have been it has been hard to get a table.

Big fan. Bison burger, let them cook it their way and enjoy a juicy bison burger which is hard to find. Good service and a nice spot for a casually, pub like drink/eats. Sometimes a lot of kids in the dining area is the only complaint, can’t really blame Trainwreck for that though. I go almost every other weekend.

I just don’t feel the love for this place any more. I hadn’t been here for some time and stopped in for lunch this week. We had a TERRIBLE server! I mean, the kind where you are wondering if they just quit because there’s no sign of them anywhere! Our drinks were empty for some time and we wondered if she would every come back. Then the food took quite awhile and it was disappointing. The burgers with cheese had some liquidy kind of cheese on them like cheese from a can or cheese whiz. Ugh! I had the fish and chips and the fish was WAY overcooked. I also had sweet potato fries that were overcooked. I’ve had many great beers here and maybe that skewed my judgement on the food. I was totally sober this time and really disappointed

Awesome burgers, great atmosphere, and decent beer selection! We had great service at the Trainwreck Saloon. They offer 3 types of beef for your burgers. You can get grass fed, bison, or regular beef. It is great because your burgers just taste better knowing you’re doing the ethical thing. There are a few dollars up charge depending on the type of beef you get. I recommend the sweet potato fries over the regular, they are delicious! They’ve got bar seating and dining room seating. A good place to go!

Like their sign says, «Where the beer and the bison burgers roam». TS, knows how to serve up a ice cold beer and they truly know how to grill a bison burger. I’ve had bison at several bars here in the Lou and Trainwreck does it best. They understand the importance of making a bison burger rare to medium rare. Nothing ruins a burger quicker then over cooking it and so many other bars cook them like a regular burger. Their long, crispy, slender seasoned fries are the perfect accompaniment to these burgers. I wish they offered their chicken wings during lunch, but due to their popularity and the small kitchen they do not offer them during lunch. If you want to experience the wings, be sure to arrive after 2:30PM. However, for those who have ice tea at lunch time, they offer all three of the major artificial sweeteners in addition to the real thing. When you dine at Trainwreck Saloon, be sure to sign up for Telugo. It is a virtual punch card for your smart phone. After you have paid your bill, they’ll scan the QR Bar Code at the bar and after 10 scans, your 11th lunch is free.
