The Pasta House

My friend ordered a lemon drop and they left the fruit sticker on his slice of lemon. Then one of the waitresses cussed out her less experienced coworker for asking her what to do. This is just another airport hole where you go to pass the time between layovers. Don’t come here for anything serious.

I thought I was on candid camera. There was maybe three people eating. There were about 15 workers all running around and talking and honestly you would have thought there were thousands of patrons. I am all for a wait staff being pro-​active but they seemed to not know what to do. Honestly like running around in circles. A few were talking about there hours and how they didn’t know what hours they were working that day until a few minutes before start time. The manager was yelling at everyone and yelling at staff for not washing hands before handling cutlery. It was like the whole restaurant was the stage for a hectic staff/​manager meeting. The guy next to me said «are we on punked?» «Is it just me?» Oh. No. It wasn’t. Worst service and odd odd odd behavior by all. So soo weird and bad service. Food was eh

We ate here on a layover and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was very sweet and accommodating; definitely made our Meal that much more pleasant. We started with an appetizer of the toasted ravioli. They came with a side of meat sauce and were absolutely delicious! The sauce tasted like home made. For our entrée we had the pizza and a house salad. Being from NY we know pizza… Although this wasn’t a NY style pie the thin crust/​sauce and cheese were all very tasty. The side salad was also very good. Given the options in the terminal is say this is your best bet for a decent meal.

Four solid stars for the food but I just had to bump them up to a fifth star for outstanding customer service!
Had a short layover at the main terminal at Saint Louis’ Airport. We didn’t have much time to explore and didn’t see many options that tickled our fancy. I’m not a big Italian food fan, but it didn’t matter. They had something called the «best fish sandwich.» Pretty bold name for a menu item. But it was pretty damn good and might’ve been one of the best I’ve had in a long while. Made fresh with a generous portion of breaded cod sandwiched between a soft, buttery loaf and garnished with tangy sweet tartar sauce, lettuce and tomatoes it was delightful. My only minor complaint was that it was tad bit too salty for me.
Now the customer service. This place is so spanking new that they have yet to obtain their liquor license. I expect it to be coming soon though because they were fully stocked in that department. After we ordered the sweet manager offered us complimentary tasting samples of four different kinds of of Schlafly craft beer. First off this was cool not only because The Pasta House clearly supports local brands but also because hello— it’s FREE beer! And as if the food and beer samples weren’t enough, the manager (though quite busy) patiently took time to accommodate my boyfriend’s request to watch the NBA playoffs. She tediously went through their Direct TV listings to locate the game while chatting with us. AND to top it off, she was continually helpfully even AFTER we paid and tipped her. She knew we were cutting it close with our flight and though we opted to eat at the bar, she had her staff bring out to-​go boxes, bags, napkins, condiments, and utensils just in case we needed to take off before we were able to finish up. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail actually came in handy as we ended up needing to board earlier than expected.
Going the extra mile with quality and service goes far anywhere. Going the extra mile like this at an AIRPORT is simply unheard of. The entire staff– right down to the kitchen staff– were super duper nice. No brainer if you end up in this terminal!

A nice surprise in terminal 2. Very helpful and attentive service. They know you’re waiting on a flight and move quickly. Make sure to add a house salad. The heart of palm is a nice addition.
