Pretty run of the mill Thai food. Delicious but nothing really unique from every other Thai place. Probably a pretty good lunch spot. Not really a dime in experience, better for to go.

Another great Thai place! Thai food has been more of a recent interest for me, but I’ve already found some great places to enjoy it. Thai Orchid has just been added to the list! Having recently moved to South City, I was looking for something fairly close to enjoy Phở or Pad Thai. Unilocal pulled up TO, and I was on my way. Like many Thai places, it has a pretty simple set-up. It reminds me of how most Chinese restaurant are laid out. However, who needs ambiance when it’s more about the food? Most of the menu items are posted around the counter, with pictures and prices. TO was pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon, with only one other table waiting to eat. The worker was very concerned about our wait, having been short one worker that afternoon. He said that his mother was in the back doing the cooking. I went simple with an order of Pad Thai with chicken. I’ve tried this dish at many places now. I was surprised by the lack of presentation. Most places usually doll up the dish, and the plate didn’t have the normal style that I had seen Pad Thai served like. Not necessarily a bad thing but strange. Overall, it might not have been my favorite plate of Pad Thai, but it was still very good. With just the right amount of heat! Like I said, Thai Orchid might not be my favorite Thai spot, but it’s hard to compete with Pearl Café in Florissant. Nonetheless, I truly enjoyed it and will definitely make it back soon.

don’t think twice about it, get in the car and then come back to this. if you like Thai food this is the place. this said — the appetizers didn’t look great. the picture of the spring roll doesn’t look appetizing. the pad thai and panang curry were very good. anything cooked from a wok seems to be the way to go. the overall appearance needs a cleaning and restyling.

First time at this place. The food was great. Service was in point. Ordered Panang curry, which was awesome. We also got the red curry, which was amazing. The Tom kha was good, but not a good as the curries. I was not a fan of the spring rolls, they use some kind of flour paper? I prefer the clear rice paper. Also would be nice if they offered shrimp in the roll and basil or mint. All in all, DEFINITELY try this place out!

This place is fantastic! I don’t know why it’s never crowded. Pad Thai, Panang Curry, crab Rangoon, everything is wonderful!

Tucked away in a nondescript strip mall is this jewel of a place. It isn’t fancy, it doesn’t have«ambiance». This place doesn’t need any of that because the food is simply awesome. Fresh ingredients, nicely presented, tasty as heck! We were blown away by how good the place is. Go. Now. Eat.

I haven’t been impressed with taste and quality from this establishment yet. And the two times I had it I felt kind of sick but they give huge portions and have great prices!

Quick lunch. Amazing pineapple fried rice. Sticky sweet rice with custard for dessert. Appears to be counter service, but they waited on us after we sat down. Very friendly. Great food. I will return.

I came here by chance because I was craving some panang on a rainy day. The service was fantastic, the food was fast, fresh, and perfectly prepared. I got thr panang curry with chicken at level 3 spice and it was perfection. While I’m not the biggest green bean fan, the veggies were a perfect tender crisp and the carrots were sliced perfectly thin. The crab Rangoon wad crisp, sweet, not burned which is a definite win. I definitely suggest you stop here for a quick lunch or dinner anytime and they have carry out too!

I was pleased with my first couple visits. I came first for dinner, then the second time for lunch. The first visit i got Panang curry with chicken, and asked for spice level 3. I was not disappointed, but the entire staff, the young man who was server/host and the two old ladies in the kitchen asked me if theyd made it too spicy. Kudos for their concern, but i think i would have spoken up if something were wrong. Lunch a few days later i had drunken noodles with chicken. Everything came up quick, and was well presented. I look forward to trying more of their menu in coming weeks

Awesome food. Got the spring rolls and the yum woon sen as take out. The spring rolls were ok, but the yum woon sen was stellar. Got the level 2 of spice and it was perfect. It wasn’t actually on their menu, but when I called to ask if they have it they said they did which made me so happy. Only issue I had was the price. I had the vegetable yum woon sen and veggie spring rolls, and the cost came close to almost $ 13. That seems like a lot for mainly a vegetarian entrée and a small appetizer. It seems like they charge the same amount whether you get meat or not.

This has become our go-to Thai restaurant. The pad Thai is always amazing — way lighter than Drunken Noodle’s — but I have recently discovered chicken katsu. If you have not had katsu and are looking for somethung new, go for it! I’ve had pork, chicken, and donbouri with katsu and they’re all fantastic! The staff is friendly, prices are reasonable, and food delicious. The guy who works most days even started recognizing us and remembers to get an extra side of peanut sauce for my fiancé. Keep up the great work!

We live close and we were exited to try it out! First, let me tell you how nice the owners and servers are! Second. Complimentary fried bananas for all at the end of the meal. Yay! And yum! They came with a side of honey to drizzle over them. We started the meal with fresh spring rolls and pot stickers. Love Thai pot stickers that come with a side of panang sauce. They were excellent. The fresh spring rolls were good, but I think I prefer Vietnamese spring rolls textures a bit more. My friend ordered the Tom Yum noodle soup. She’s adventurous. It had shrimp, squid and fish balls in it. She liked it and there was plenty for leftovers. I had the chicken panang curry. Spice level 2. Their panang sauce was wonderful! The green beans and carrots were cooked yet still crisp. I also had enough for leftovers. We were talking with some other folks in the restaurant and they had just ordered the Mango with Sticky Rice and he let us each have a bite! That’s a must for the next visit. The location is in a strip mall so its nothing fancy. The prices are reasonable as well. We will be visiting again for either dine in or take out.

Tonight we had the best experience at thai orchid! At other Thai restaurants recently it has been a difficult experience to ask for gluten free. Thai orchid has a menu highlight with everything they can make GF and she gave me one to take with me. I had the drunken noodle and it was delicious!!! Our server, the cook and everyone working there were so kind and friendly. We are looking forward to going back and Thank you!!!

Delicious Thai take-out. Don’t let the location or even the smell fool you. It smelled kind of like fryer grease when we walked in but the food didn’t tsar like that at all. The smell may still be from the Chinese place that used to be there. The food was really good. The only thing that I’d change is how spicy it was. I ordered yellow curry with 2⁄5 heat but it was really hot. My husband had pad Thai 3⁄5 and it wasn’t nearly as hot.

Super casual Thai restaurant located in a strip mall on Lemay Ferry next to McArthur’s Bakery in Mehlville. Very good egg rolls, pad Thai, yellow curry, and pineapple curry. The shrimp was a bit over cooked on the pineapple curry, but the sauce was Delish!
