Came from New Jersey for the New Year’s Eve party here. Management/Ownership is awful, after the party they screwed the promoter over on $ 1200 and almost did not pay my fiancé who they flew in to DJ. The promoter has a contract for the New Years Eve party, I hope they are ready to face him in court because they are now ignoring him! This venue sucks! Stay away!

I went here Friday evening, because I heard they have a good salsa dance night. I was there for less than an hour and some guy threatened my life. This was an anomaly, I’m sure; however, I was not completely thrilled with how the club handled it. I explained to a gentleman who worked there what happened and he briefly tried to find the guy who threatened me. Then, he took me outside and kind of handed me off to who I believe was the manager. The(who I believe to be) manager listened to me explain what happened. Then he asked me if I wanted them to find the perpetrator or get me to my car(I previously asked for an escort). But, it felt a little like he wanted me to get the escort so that he would not have to deal with the issue. For the most part, I believe that the issue was handled appropriately. It was the tone of the gentleman towards the end that made the experience not a 5.

What’s Jack cooking? Amazingly fresh, original Thai food. If I am ever forced to choose what my last meal would be its got to be the Chiang Mai curry noodle soup. Hello Heaven!

Does not have ramen. Only half the menu on here is correct. They have sushi and that’s it.

Horrible service and the bartenders don’t know how to make a pomegranate martini! The food is ok but very over priced for the very small portions you get, if you get them before you die from boredom.

Siam has amazing food, sleek atmosphere, friendly and accommodating staff, big patio and most importantly great music and nightlife. I recommend this spot to anyone looking for these qualities. Especially if u like House Music and Sushi.

As far as fresh fish goes, wow! I’ve had the Nigiri and Sashimi, Redtail, white tuna, yellow tail, red tuna and salmon. Each is extremely fresh. It rivals my other favorite sushi spot in STL. The décor here is very well thought out, elegant, sexy, clean. There’s an outdoor patio that’s great when the weather cooperates. It has a heater on weekend nights and a fire pit. Late nights include DJ performances, I work performing there a couple times per month as a audio and video dj under the moniker Dj ViLLiN. This has one of the best sounds and lighting in the entire metro area. To meet the standards of nightlife in the grove, Siam never has a cover charge. The clientele is mix in ethnicity and style, but always respectful and fun! It’s nice working for them and would highly recommend their menu to anyone, it is exceptional.

Headed HERE with my wife for the 4th time, and NORMALLY we have an AMAZING time, enjoying the atmosphere and ambiance of the venues DJ’s but last night(12−19−14) THEDJ «EXPOSURE», was a drawback, his set WAS ineffectual, and slow, but other than LASTNIGHT’S DJ(I DIDN’T FEELTHEMUSIC), SIAMIS «STILL» one of our FAVORITE nightbspots.

Sticky floors and flat drinks… My wife and I were excited to try this place and chose to do so last night. Immediately upon walking into the place, my shoes were getting stuck on a VERY sticky floor. Sticky might not properly convey what the floor felt like. It was as if someone from the night before had mopped the floors with sugar water. This is definitely not a good first impression for any restaurant to put forth let alone a restaurant serving raw fish. We sat at the bar due to some of the other reviews that we had read regarding the wait staff. The bartender seemed nice but he could have explained their happy hour and alcohol selection better since there were no beer/drink/happy hour lists for customers to review. My wife asked for a flavored vodka with tonic water. I decided on a tequila and 7up. The 7up was flat. I asked my wife about hers and she said the same. Normally I would have alerted the bartender to this but, given that their floors felt like fly tape, I decided that they might just not care. As far as the food: I tend to judge restaurants that serve sushi based on how good their miso soup is. My experiences have shown that if a restaurant has crappy miso soup then they tend to not have the best sushi. Normally, miso soup is either complimentary or very inexpensive. This place must have the best miso soup on the planet because it was $ 5. I told the bartender that I wasn’t looking for a bowl of miso and asked if they had a smaller size. He motioned to show me how large the soup was and apparently that –was– the smaller size… a cup, not a bowl as I would have expected for $ 5. Needless to say, I did not test my miso soup theory here. My wife wanted the chorizo and goat cheese pot stickers. They no longer have any of the three kinds shown on their menu. Why are they still listed? I don’t know. We settled for pork and also had an order of sweet potato fries. The pot stickers were nothing special but weren’t bad. The fries were flavorful but limp and soggy. If you cannot cook sweet potato fries correctly then why are they even on the menu(especially an Asian fusion menu…)? We ordered three rolls to split. I also ordered the tuna/salmon sashimi combo platter and some tobiko. The rolls were okay given the half price happy hour. I would have been really disappointed had we paid full price. The sashimi didn’t have a lot of taste… definitely a let down. The sushi chef gave me 9 pieces instead of the normal 7 which I was excited about before I tried it. I appreciated the gesture but, given the quality of the fish, the extra pieces were kind of like throwing extra polish on a turd. There was an awesome jazz band performing and I would have to say that they were the only real highlight of the night. Before we left, both of us had to use the restroom(s). There is one very large restroom, stalls only, coed. No wonder, as another reviewer mentioned, that this bathroom becomes a sex free for all at night. Another thing on the bathrooms… they put ice in the sinks. This is the only restaurant that I have seen do this. Normally, this is something you do with urinals. We were told that this was to keep smells from coming out of the old pipes. Isn’t that what a drainage trap is for? Since I have never, ever, ever seen this done in a sink at any other establishment, I have to assume something else can be done. By the way, the sinks are set kind of low. So, I have a question for the owner… When everyone is drunk at night, the stalls are full of people getting it on, and the sinks look like urinal troughs due to the ice in them, how long do you think it will take before people start emptying their bladders into the same basins where people are washing their hands? Bottom line: Where is the owner of this place? If he isn’t there to notice the sticky floors then shouldn’t someone else? Anyone who walked through the restaurant was very loud as their shoes snapped away from the floor. And, what about the workers? Even if you have an owner that doesn’t give a shit, where is your work ethic? Those floors were so terrible that I would’ve gladly mopped them myself(as a customer) for $ 10 just so that it didn’t feel so gross. I hope they mopped them before the dancing started. To the owner: Don’t serve sushi. Your menu is extremely limited and the quality is not good enough to back it up. We have Kampai, Mizu, Café Mochi, Sekuisi(sp?), and even Sushi Ai… plus many more in the metro area. Your sushi cannot compete with any of these places based on the quality of it and the lack of selection. You HAVE to know this. Your place has many little things that will make people go elsewhere. It seems like you must be very disengaged from your business. So many simple things could be done to bring more customers into SIAM. Start asking your customers of ways you can improve… by taking their constructive criticism while they are there, maybe that will be one less bad review that makes it to Unilocal

Another great visit in the books! If you haven’t been here for their food yet, go. Everything was on point & service was great. The only disappointment was that they’ve been out of the chorizo pot stickers both times I’ve been there. I’ll be back!

So it’s an old club and I think it still maybe a club at night but me and my family including our 5 year old went there for dinner! The food was good we received a sashimi plate and was very pleased with it. My some received a burger and fries which he ate and was happy with. But my biggest complaint is the SERVICE it was horrible. I had to get my own plates, sauce bowls and napkins, they bought out two glasses but didn’t bring my son one. I had to request one for him, I don’t know maybe they thought he was invisible. I had a groupon certificate so it was a good dinner I would come back if someone was treating.

Great happy hour sushi specials, but not so great sushi. They seemed a bit disheveled when we arrived around 4 on a Sunday. They couldn’t find the champagne for mimosas, food wasn’t entirely fresh tasting and while someone seemed to try a good presentation, there were spills and such on every dish and it was sloppy The dessert was really good though and it was presented well. Siam has a nice patio and they have done a great job on the renovation of the tired old building that Novak’s once inhabited. I’ll have to return at night to check out the club rather than visit for restaurant service. It looks like it has all of the right bones.

Disappointed. They hosted an event and didn’t have seating in the dining room. So they put us on the patio. Tempura was overcooked and the sashimi was not fresh. Service was thin as we were an afterthought to the event. Bad timing, too bad, won’t be back.

Tried this place on a living social deal. Very impressed with the food-flavor, preparation, and presentation was all amazing. We had lettuce wraps, which were delicious, the vegetables were crisp and the chicken tender and juicy. The onigiri was expertly done with the salmon cooked to perfection. The martini roll was cleverly presented in a martini glass and I appreciated the vegetables used as accents. Plum wine poached pear was so good, but I would recommend splitting it as it was a lot of sweetness for just one person. Our waitress, Valencia, was very friendly and provided great service, especially helpful since this was or first visit. We got there kind of early, around 5, and they seemed to be setting up for some event that evening. The only seating available was on the patio. By the time we left about 645 it was very loud, lots of people gathered around the outside bar, and getting smoky out there(smoking is only allowed on the outside patio). I’m not sure if this is typical or irregular, but it seemed out of place with the food being served. I felt confused about what vision they have for this place as these things seemed to be in disconnect and trying to cater towards different crowds.

this place used to be novaks and now it’s a sushi joint, I think? it’s not really clear on what kind of ambience this restaurant is trying to set. the menu screams asian but nothing about this place says asian. happy hour is from 4−7p and we arrived at 5pm. we were the only ones there, there was no music, nothing was really set up… it was really awkward to walk into… everyone that worked there didn’t really have a clue as to what was going on with anything. a lot of questions were answered with«I’m not sure, I’ll have to ask.» the whole place just had a really weird vibe… with that said, let’s talk about the food! sushi rolls. I’ve been to many sushi spots around stl and I must say this may have been the best sushi yet. the rice was the perfect consistency, the eel was still warm in my roll, the ratio of the ingredients were perfect. edamame. they ran out of it. womp womp. korean fried chicken. the flavor was decent. there was a lot of batter on the chicken. more batter than chicken. spicy beef potstickers. I question if they got this order right because it wasn’t spicy, not the slightest bit. the beef mix inside was a little bland for me. the flavors were«ok». tuna tataki. the tuna was perfect for me. larger portion than you would think. true mango was a nice blend. fried vegetables. nothing special but still yummy. they gave that to us for free!

Three stars for the service and presentation. Unfortunately I can’t give them more because the flavors of the sushi just weren’t there. The rolls we had(Seadragon, Grove, Unagi Eel and Crunchy Philly Roll) were presented beautifully and there was nothing off about the tastes but there was nothing particularly memorable about the tastes either. They have a happy hour 7 days a week from 4 – 7 so we’ll try again and see if it was our choice of rolls. Beautiful space and friendly service in a prime location. The server mentioned they’ll soon be adding a late night menu after 11pm as well.

The bf was craving sushi, and when I saw that Siam has a happy hour 4 – 7 pm, the decision was made! Thanks to one of the Unilocal reviews here, we knew to go up to the bar to ask to be seated at a table. The bartender ended up waiting on us, and she was attentive and friendly. Not all of the regular rolls were half off, but a lot of them were. We tried: Cali, spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, unagi(eel), and futomaki. We also got the salmon roe(ikura) nigiri for $ 5.50. The rolls were all pretty good, although I thought the unagi/eel was a little off – never something you want to say/think about sushi, honestly. The tempura was quite good and still a litle warm from the tempura coming right out of the deep-fryer, I think(hope). Great deal. Not the best sushi I’ve ever had but probably top 2 in STL and for the price? Can’t be beat.(Though I don’t think I’d be willing to drop $ 12 – 14 on a specialty roll.)

Don’t be fooled by the gay bar/dance club feeling of this place, Siam has great food at fair prices. Walk in and you might be like, «where’s the host?» but just ask one of the beautiful people behind the bar for a table for dinner. If you remember these two words: «happy hour,» you won’t be disappointed. Half priced regular sushi rolls till 7pm! My date and I were very impressed with their specialty rolls as well(not included on happy hour menu), especially the one that comes with a pile of expertly seasoned lump crab in the middle of the plate. I mean, wow! Very decadent for the price. Two reasons why this place doesn’t get 5 stars: the décor in the dining area is a little sad/sparse, and the wine I got, although very tasty, was very expensive($ 8 for a scanty pour). All together, we WILL be coming back, sampling more of the menu, and staying late to dance!

The reviews were good, so we thought we would check it out. We were thoroughly disappointed. The renovation feels cheap and a little sketchy. I felt like there might be drug deals going down out back. When we asked the waitress for a drink menu, she mention they didn’t have one and the beer list was outdated. Ok… Then, my beer was warm. We got potstickers for an appetizer– they were delicious but I had to hunt down the waitress for utensils and napkins. We ordered three different sushi rolls and each one seemed off. The portions of ingredients inside the rolls were off and it looked/tasted like I was eating tuna wrapped in rice. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and I am pretty sad about it.
